The aftermath section really simply highlights of the worst things that happened after SFRY ceased to exist. As such it is off topic and edit-war magnet to boot. As these events are covered elsewhere I propose they be cut.

:The ] was a ] formed on the basis of the 1944 ] which sought to fix the issue of parallel governments of Yugoslavia, namely the ] (recognized by the Allies but with little ''de facto'' authority in the occupied country) and the communist-led ] (which was never recognized as having sovereignty over the occupied country but which had some authority on the ground, i.e. the parts of it liberated by the ]). The ''de facto'' authority of communists was only legalised (i.e. became ''de iure'') in the ] (the result of which was contested by non-communist opposition, but it nevertheless became fact). Of course, communist historiography always claimed continuity in retrospect back to 1943, completely ignoring the ] and the issue of international recognition, simply choosing the date when Partisans declared themselves as executive authority over the entire territory. So no, the provisional government is not the same thing as SFR Yugoslavia, and claiming otherwise would only be possible by relying on communist, not exactly reliable, sources. ] (]) 18:12, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

How come the start year of the SFR Yugoslavia is 1945, and not 1943? The article ] says that the Kingdom ceased to exist in 1943, and was succeeded by the Communist Yugoslavia... Federative vs Federal

The same as Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, this article should be renamed to Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia, because it had "Federativna" instead of "Federalna" in the name. 77.77.216.224 (talk) 12:45, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

Is this an actual distinction in English sources? wikt:federative says it's largely the same meaning. --Joy (talk) 15:36, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
It was officially called "Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia" in English, which can be seen in official English language texts of international treaties. See here for an example. Vanjagenije (talk) 00:24, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
Google Books Ngram is undoubtedly clear on the common name of SFRY, so nothing is to be done here. –Vipz (talk) 01:11, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

"Federal"

The term "Federal" in the names of constituent republics in 1944-46 meant that they were federations within themselves or that they were part of Yugoslavia federation? --95.24.65.189 (talk) 18:08, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

They were part of the federation. They were not federal by themselves. Vanjagenije (talk) 20:15, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
