That first letter is to Minister for Information (Intelligence) who was also a Western Front hero so he would have known what Cyril did.

I see nothing about about him bering from Gundagai however. I will let others look in to it. -- ] 15:10, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

He is on the Gundagai Cenotaph. To be put on a cenotaph you be born at thta place. However, though I know Cyril was born here, he is down as being born in Melb. and his name was changed from Andrew, to Cyril. (He had rheumatic fever as a kid plus his dad was violent so they changed details a bit.) His Mum made him 3 yars younger than he was and changed his name so he had a chance at getting a job. Rheumatic Fever affects your heart so on paper, he wasnt a good employment prospect till he had an ID change. Hi s brother had his head shot off at Quinns Post at Gallipoli so Cyril decided he was going OS too. The army hadnt let him go as he was their top gunnery instructor. He threatened army he would find another id and enlist under that name if they didnt let him go. In reality he is Andrew Longmore, but offically he is Cyril Longmore. He is on our cenotaph under the Cyril name but notes re his letters from the Somme back to Gundgaai etc id him as Andrew Longmore. (His father was also Andrew hence that name change re the violence.) I dont say he was born here though I know he was. He was very much from here. Not in Butchers book, his brother is.

"An ex Gundagai man, Lieutenant C Longmore, writing from France to his Aunt, Mrs Ern Brooke of Thuddugra, says he is with his Lewis machine gun section in the firing line in France." 'Gundagai Independent' 8 August, 1917.

We dont get our military history wrong as we are an adf family.

From his war record:

Order of Leopold, Chevalier, Conferred by His Majesty, King of the Belgiums CAG 9/18 MO42/18

Croix de Guerre, Conferred by His Majesty, The King of the Belgiums, Captain Cyril Longmore.

The above has been promulgated in The Commonwealth of Australia Gazette, No. 110, dated 25th July, 1918.

Bonjour,

Please don't issue final warnings to users when it's clear they have made 1 edit to Misplaced Pages, although it may appear their only edit was likely to be disruptive. == Question Jewellery Vs. Jewelry==

Dear Myanw,

I am emailing about your recent edit of the Jewellery category. I personally have no issue with it as I am aware there are 2 different spellings and for me, it is not a problem. However, I do feel we are having a siginifcant issue here on WP about the English VS. American spelling and I feel I have a good case to revert to the American Spelling. So - here it is. I am a graduate student at Bard here in US. I have read and researched literally hundreds of published titles on this topic. To that aim, I am endeavoring to beef up this category and help WP. However, in the act of reading many titles over many years, I have come to conclude that the American spelling is more dominent in published works on this topic. I don't have a reasoning behind why, I just know that it is so. Because of this, I feel it is neccesary to switch back to the American spelling. Even though in OED, it is jewellery, in every major book on this topic with the exception of one that is published in UK, it is spelled jewelry. For example - see what is know as "the bible on jewelry," the title is: Jewelry Concepts & Technology by Oppi Untracht. The selling used is jewelry. Another example: On Amazon, you type in both. For jewelry there are 83,868 Results, for Jewellery, there are 18,151 Results - that is a significant difference in published works. I am more than happy to provide a complete bibliography if need be, but in the interest of being user friendly, I ask that you consider this and let me know what you think. Thanks, Archie, archimartin]

Myanw, I added some content to this page re Hidenburg and Robert Myers keps reverting it. H ehas previously had nil to do with this page but has previously been vandalising multiple pages I have put posts on. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:203.54.9.1 (talkcontribs) .

Hello, can I ask you to sign your message next time? Thanks - Regarding your edits on Battle of the Hindenburg Line my problem is that the name of the Australian captain is not relevant IMHO, is he notable enough to be named in Misplaced Pages? If you can prove he is, I'll have no further objection - Cheers - Myanw 12:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes he is not just about that he led that attack but that he also wrote many of the unit histories for the Australian Forces in WW1 and is archived in our National war museum as well as in the Battye Archives in Perth. He was also awarded an Order of Leopold (Knighthood) and Croix de Guerre for his actions in France and the Hindenburg battles. He was a noted Journalist and War Correspondent and was mentioned multiple times in the official Australian history of WW1 by Australia's official war historian. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:203.54.9.1 (talkcontribs) .

Ok then, I suppose you already tried to create an entry for this man? If not, try to do that first and don't forget not to do any personnal attack, even if I understand you may feel frustrated by the reverts, you'd rather bring a request for arbitration instead - Myanw 12:49, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

I can't because whatever I post here, Robert Myers or Atktos or longhair, delete. I thought the rules here were that everyone can post stuff. I have been amazed by the aggro from some admins here and how they get away with totally vandalising pages. If I try and put anything up for Cyril Longmore here it will just get taken straight down. It is ridiculous. Its not that I feel frustrated. I am under constant personal attack by the three above people. Is that how wik runs? Note the tone below re "The IP is the same Anon". I have not been blocked at all the last week. If that is because I avoid reading messages they send me, that is because the first couple I read my computer security disconnected me from wik and when I logged back on, my remote access had been changed enabling access into my computer by anyone. (i.e. there was something in the messages that my computer security objected to. As I am on a uni network of our largest Oz Uni I am obliged to not infect their system hence my computer security and my reluctance after the intrusions into my computer from wik to open many sites here that lead to the personal computers of other editors, especially given the attacks on me. There was some nonsense re me being on a uni server or something, (I am for the purpose of my communication with that uni but not for the purpose of me logging on to wik). It appears that there's a pattern in common between the said blocked user and yourself in the way you edit articles, that's what leads certain contributers to consider the both of you to be one single individual, if you're indeed the said blocked user, I advise you to cool down and wait for the end of your blocking period, if you're not, please post a request for arbitration and try to sort things out peacefully (and please, one more time, try to sign your messages on talk pages, it's not difficult, you know just under the "show changes" button, there's a "sign your name" thingy, try clicking on that ^^) --Myanw 13:16, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

I TOTALLY ADMIT THE ABOVE ROBERT MYERS AS YOU KNOW I DO. IT WAS TO TEACH U SOME EMPATHY AND RESPECT. DID IT WORK? ISNT IT A REAL PAIN WHEN SOMEONE DOES THAT TO STUFF U HAVE SPENT AGES ON TYPING IN. WIKIPEDIA IS NOT ABOUT YOU AND YOUR EGO BELEIVE IT OR NOT, IT IS ABOUT GETTING THIS INFO UP HERE IN AS GOOD AND CORRECT A MANNER AS POSSIBLE. IT IS NOT ABOUT SLANGING RACIST COMMENTS AT HIGHLY REGARDED AUSTRALIAN INDIGENOUS ELDERS OR FIGHTING WITH ME OR POSTING UP MAJOR INACCURACIES JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE MADE ERRORS IN BOOKS, BUT ABOUT THE PREVIOUS. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:203.54.9.190 (talkcontribs) .

ROBERT MYERS. IT IS MY TELCO ASSIGNS MY IP, NOT ME. I AM NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH TO ASSIGN MY IP BELIEVE IT OR NOT. I AM A 55 YEAR ODL GREY HAIRED WOMAN WITH A LOT OF ACADEMIC AND PRACTICAL SKILLS, A MESSED UP ARM WHICH MESSES MY TYPING UP AND A LOT OF CONTENT HERE TO POST HERE FROM THE AUSTRALIAN STUDIES/ARCHAOLOGY/HERITAGE/SOCIAL SCIENCE/ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE QUALS I HAVE ACHIEVED THE LAST 10 YEARS. I DO NOT PLAY WAR GAMES ON THE INTERNET NOR IS IT A HOBBY OF MINE AND NEVER HAS BEEN AS HAVING BEEN IN THE ADF, I DONT THINK WAR A GAME, LIKE SOME DO. SO I AM TO NOT LOG ON TO THE INTERNET EVER TO PLEASE YOU? ONCE SOMEONE TRIED TO GET ME TO STAY WITHIN MY GATE AS I OFFENDED THEM AND THEY JUST GOT OFF MULTIPLE S.9 BONDS. THEY ENDED UP GOING TROPPO AS THEY WERE ARE ALCOHOLIC AND THEIR MIND WAS STARTING TO CONK OUT. IF I LOG BACK ON TO THE INTERNET WHEN I GET HOME FROM BEING OUT, OR TO DO SOME MORE UNI WORK, I WILL. THAT IS NOT TO YOU TO TRY AND REGULATE. IF YOU HAVE COMPLAINTS WITH DIAL UP INTERNET CONNECTIONS, DISCUSS THEM WITH THE OZ TELCO REGULATOR. I HAVE MY DIALUP AS ITS ALL I CAN AFOFRD PLUS I HAVE THIS THING ABOUT REVERSE ENGINEERING. DONT U THINK YOU ARE BEIGN A BIT UNREASONABLE? IF YOU STOP FIGHTING THERE WONT BE BLOCKS. For a period I was adjutant and in the final fight for the Hindenburg Line acted as second-in-command and was in charge of the front line troops. (...) »

It seems rather conclusive to me --Myanw 15:06, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

I see nothing about about him bering from Gundagai however. I will let others look in to it. -- RobertM 15:10, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Belgium

Evilbu 23:00, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Please consider also warning vandals

Thank you for reverting vandalism on Misplaced Pages. Could you also please consider using our vandal warning system ? First offenses get a "test1," then a "test2," followed by a "test3" and "test4." At the end of this, if the vandal persists, he or she merits blocking for a period of time. If you do this, it will greatly help us in decreasing vandalism on Misplaced Pages. Much thanks, -- Kukini 19:19, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

The King's School Canterbury

Why has the section titled 'Controversy' been deleted? It is, in fact, entirely factual.

Additionally, the school is Urban, not Suburban, as noted, and the years at the school are Shell, Remove, 5th, 6b and 6a.

Sam West

Thought you should know that the page were involved in creating about Sam West the American baseball player has been replaced by a biography of the actor Sam West whose correct entry is Samuel West. Concerning blanking of page

To say I 'blanked' a page is misleading and suggests that I am a vandal, which isn't true; I simply removed a photo that was dubious and inappropriate, and which has no place on a user page. Please don't issue final warnings to users when it's clear they have made 1 edit to Misplaced Pages, although it may appear their only edit was likely to be disruptive. You may not be aware of the {{blatantvandal}} template, which is handy for such cases. Perhaps take a read over Misplaced Pages:Please do not bite the newcomers and Misplaced Pages:Assume good faith to see my reasons why it's not such a good idea to chase the vandals away on little evidence of repeat disruption. -- Longhair\ 08:25, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I replied on your talk page - Myanw 08:48, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Apologies, I read the warning quickly, and it is indeed a level 3 warning. Sorry for that. You're doing the right thing, don't take me the wrong way, and any assistance in giving vandals a warning or three is always appreciated.
Sometimes vandals will stop before we bring out the harsh words like blocking. With Schapelle Corby back in the news in Australia of late, the vandals may very well be connected and acting in concert, or they're simply lone vandalistic idiots hitting mainsteam news-related articles for a thrill. Keep up the struggle though. All I really wanted to let you know was the {{bv}} template often stops them in their tracks and sends a clear message once and for all to stop, or be stopped. Cheers. -- Longhair\ 08:57, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Question Jewellery Vs. Jewelry

Thanks, Archie, archimartinArchiemartin
