:::Since a simple apology for the original sin against him won't be forthcoming, and that would, I hazard, be the only persuasive thing that might make him reconsider, the only helpful thing here would be a collective effort to write an historical essay summarizing as stringently and neutrally as possible how this punitive domino effect began, with a sockpuppet's harassment. And once sandboxed out, leave it on this abandoned page just to set the record straight, vindicate our lost editor's honour, and enable those who wonder what it was all about catch the drift in an overview. MS certainly deserves such a pittance of commemorative justice, and as a practice I don't see why it wouldn't turn out set a useful precedent for writing up cases in wikispace where bad administrative judgment can be shown to have catastrophic effects. == Oh shit ==
Some time ago I decided to focus 99-plus percent of my efforts here solely on article improvement and eschew virtually everything else. While it has no doubt saved me untold amounts of stress and ire, it obviously has its drawbacks too. Sadly I missed all of this. During my nascent days at this project, when I had quickly developed a deep disgust for adminship-culture, you stood out to me as an anomaly: a circumspect, principled individual as well as editor, who didn't view his or her bit as a phallus. (I would later come to learn, while few and far between, there were other administrators with integrity as well.) I didn't always agree with you, but I always found your character to be beyond reproach. I was equally, if not more impressed with your work as an editor; not only were you a prolific contributor, you worked daily in some of the most heated, contentious areas of the project {{ndash}} articles I wouldn't dream of working on as anything but a copy-editor. All of this, along with the egregiously mitigatory provocation, should have been given proper weight in the original case that caused you to lose your administratorship; had it been, censure should been the harshest measure even on the table. Now this; as passionate as I am about this project, there are times when I am truly embarrassed to be associated with it. I wish I had learned of this months ago, when you would have been more likely to see this message. I hope you know how valued you were here. I'm proud to have worked beside you, friend. Thank you. The main difficulty is going to be finding secondary sources for this topic. I don't think it's too controversial to say that the kinds of sources that would be best are not out there for the topic. "Black genocide" will get mentioned by academics and discussed in depth. "White genocide" will get a snarky mention in a news article, maybe, and it will be very briefly summed up as being crazy. Very little in-depth treatment of the subject. Plus, there is a line in the reliable sources that mentions that "sources judged to be extremist" should not be included either. So who knows what we can do with that.

On the other hand, it would be great if a secondary source discussing the population decline of Europe and how quickly those ethnic European populations will be reduced to minorities there could be used. Warm wishes
I understand your desire to step away from a while, but I hope that you will return when the time is right for you. Thank you for all of your excellent contributions over the years. Cullen Let's discuss it 22:00, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- Absolutely. Malik should never have been de-sysopped in the first place. Admins working in the I-P area need a thick skin and a quick brain – and Malik was one of the best. Malik, I hope you'll come back again some day. Best wishes, NSH001 (talk) 06:57, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- Don't know what to say really, except to pitifully echo the warm thoughts expressed by others. Best wishes whatever you decide to do eventually. Pincrete (talk) 13:27, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- Since a simple apology for the original sin against him won't be forthcoming, and that would, I hazard, be the only persuasive thing that might make him reconsider, the only helpful thing here would be a collective effort to write an historical essay summarizing as stringently and neutrally as possible how this punitive domino effect began, with a sockpuppet's harassment. It might teach that body to listen to the community, rather than rule it. Nishidani (talk) 15:00, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi Mr.Malik, sorry for my bad English but I really want to say this. It was in my chest since you stopped editing. Wikiproject Military history coordinator election nominations open
Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election are now open. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting doesn't commence until 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the coord team. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 02:38, 1 September 2019 (UTC)

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!
Greetings!
After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Misplaced Pages articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.
On English Misplaced Pages, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:
- Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
- Diversity winner
- Gender-gap fillers
For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Oh shit
I was equally, if not more impressed with your work as an editor; not only were you a prolific contributor, you worked daily in some of the most heated, contentious areas of the project – articles I wouldn't dream of working on as anything but a copy-editor. Best, Joefromrandb (talk) 03:25, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- Yepp, still miss you, MS. Hope you are doing well, whatever you spend your time on....best wishes, Huldra (talk) 20:54, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
ArbCom 2019 election voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add |

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Godmoma albums
A tag has been placed on Category:Godmoma albums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines.
