==GA Sweeps invitation==
{| width="90%" cellspacing="0" align="center"
Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the ''']'''. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the ''']''' has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A ''']''' has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the ]. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the ], and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. ==I have three questions==
I made an edit today--one edit--to the article ] and have not made an edit to the article in days, but yet another editor reversed my ONE edit and then reported me on the 3RR notice board. I find this to be a clear use of Misplaced Pages to win a debate about article content and direction. Prejean was called a series of negative things by ], most of the words are contemptuous and vile, such as the b-word and c-word. There are editors that believe that each and every one of Hilton's use of those words MUST be included in the article about Prejean. Now, I don't see the need to have an article about Prejean dominated by the words and comments of ONE individual (highly negative words at that) dominate the life story of Prejean. It is tantamount to having the words of ] concerning ] dominate the Misplaced Pages article about Bush. It violates Misplaced Pages avowed goal of NPOV and it violates BLP. Now, I know that consensus in Misplaced Pages editing is one of the goals, but consensus does NOT override other valid Misplaced Pages ideals such as BLP. There can be a compromise made where the gist of Hilton's highly negative opinion is included in the article, but at the same time it does NOT dominate the life story of Prejean. Prejean is notable for many, many reasons, not just her public fight with Hilton. She is notable for being a successful model; she is notable for participating in ]; she is notable for being the current Miss California USA; and she is now notable for being a TV personality. My first question is: Can you at least review the article and see if the second, third, fourth, and fifth repetitions of the b-word and c-word violates BLP? I believe that it does. And my second question is: Is it appropriate to make a report on an editor for violating 3RR even though that editor has only made one edit? And my third question is: Is misusing 3RR to win a debate on the proper interpretation of BLP appropriate? I don't think so.--] (]) 15:59, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Wisden17, we are having a continual problem with one of the editors by the name of Wikipediatrix. She continues to go through our contributions and makes edits to everything that we have posted. There is not a problem with that and we invite her contributions, however she gets way to personal into them. She tags everything and does not give any reason of why she is tagging something. She has had many run ins with other editors and administrators about her editing. They have told her to stop tagging without explaining why she is doing so. She ignores this admonishment and continues to do so. When we asak her why she tags things she goes on to tell us to stop berating her and just make the changes? How can one do this? We have cited things and she has gone right behind us and removed them and asked for cites again. This last time we edited the David L Cook article and took the stuff out that she had tagged and she went right back added the edits back onto the article and then removed them again? We are at our witts end with this woman. She has turned this into a personal issue. She is not nice to anyone who questions her and finally, she does not explain herself or her edits and tags. This is not the purpose of Misplaced Pages. This is supposed to be a community that works together. If she sees something wrong what would it hurt her to be a good editor and fix it? Not her! She tags it and then gets upset when questioned. We need help. We would prefer to have her blocked from our articles so that she cannot continue to do this to us. We have no problem with someone wanting to edit or give suggestions, we just do not have time to continue to bicker with this woman who is seemingly on a Rambo quest. Thank you for any help you can give us. ] 15:52 22, Aug 2006 (UTC)

== April 2010 GAN backlog elimination drive ==
I have not mislead anyone. They are taking an entry where I refered this article over to our publicity department in order to make sure I did not imput a personal POV. Wikipediatrix said that the article read like a press release done by Mr. Cook's press agent. I never said this was an issue about the IAMAS Corporation, I said in the heading it was about the David L Cook article in question. As far as citing, I have cited and Wikipediatrix has removed any cites I have put on. I do not have a problem with her asking for cited material, what I do have a problem with is her bad attitude and failure to explain her tags. Misplaced Pages is here for us to work as a community and if you see an article needs something don't just tag stuff without explaination. If you are going to take so much time to tag something why don't you take the same time to help fix it? I think that makes a little more sense. ] 02:12, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Playfair Cricket Annual

Hi mate. I only made the most recent edit to the page, which was merely fixing some links to the cricketer Peter May so I'm not the person who made that claim. You're after User:Nigej, he created the Playfair Cricket Annual article and put in the information regarding the 1948 edition/s. Cheers. Crickettragic (talk) 00:36, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Indian Cricket

Hi, thanks for the offer. I would love to see the obituary sections of the Indian crickets. Please let me know if I can contact you by mail. I have IC80, 83, 85, one or two others before 1993, and all the editions from 1993 to 2004. Tintin 13:22, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

GA Sweeps invitation

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! I have three questions

I made an edit today--one edit--to the article Carrie Prejean and have not made an edit to the article in days, but yet another editor reversed my ONE edit and then reported me on the 3RR notice board. I find this to be a clear use of Misplaced Pages to win a debate about article content and direction. Prejean was called a series of negative things by Perez Hilton, most of the words are contemptuous and vile, such as the b-word and c-word. There are editors that believe that each and every one of Hilton's use of those words MUST be included in the article about Prejean. Now, I don't see the need to have an article about Prejean dominated by the words and comments of ONE individual (highly negative words at that) dominate the life story of Prejean. It is tantamount to having the words of Saddam Hussein concerning George W Bush dominate the Misplaced Pages article about Bush. She is notable for being a successful model; she is notable for participating in Deal or No Deal; she is notable for being the current Miss California USA; and she is now notable for being a TV personality. I don't think so.--InaMaka (talk) 15:59, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

April 2010 GAN backlog elimination drive

WikiProject Good Articles will be running a GAN backlog elimination drive for the entire month of April. The goal of this drive is to bring the number of outstanding Good Article nominations down to below 200. This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. Hope we can see you in April.

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014

Today's motto...

Anoint, v: To grease a king or other great functionary already sufficiently slippery.

Nominate one today!

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Misplaced Pages:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Misplaced Pages:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Misplaced Pages:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Misplaced Pages who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).
