Hello KrakatoaKatie! I came across your profile over on ], where you indicated you enjoyed editing topics around American military history. I've been working on a big project over the last few weeks: ]. The aim is to have a list of every time the U.S. (government/military) was attacked, but not when the U.S. was attacking. My hope is to create ''list of attacks by the United States'' once this list is finished.

Well anyway, I wanted to see if you would be interested in helping me put together some of the summaries for the list. I am ''fairly sure'' most if not all of the attacks themselves are on the list. But, I'm still working to get the summaries and references put together for each of them. If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to message me back here or on my talk page anytime! If not, I completely understand. Keep up the good work on Misplaced Pages! Cheers! '''The ]''' (] 16:43, 3 December 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for contacting me regarding my creation of the article and its deletion. However, let me point out that my inclusion of this article conforms with Misplaced Pages standards and is therefore appropriate. My initial article on this may not have adequate and resourceful information, but this is in no way eligible for deletion. I did not have time to check and re-edit this article after other contributors have changed my original entry so I assumed that the facts contained still conforms to Misplaced Pages Standards. And then I found out that my article is being nominated for deletion! I am sorry for not contacting you immediately because I just had a WikiHoliday. But I assure you that the said Wilson Lee Flores is a recognized public figure in the Philippines- journalist, writer, businessman and social analyst. This is also attested by the number of edits by other wikipedians, and is even a target of vandalism and poor editing. Check it for yourself on the internet. I would be pleased for your reply, then I will do my best to reedit the article.

I'm glad Simonm223 was able to give you an answer you liked, but I am not going to give an opinion on the strength or weakness of arguments there. I'm very sorry for the loss of your friend, and I hope the music you love helped bring you some peace. Katie 16:33, 2 December 2024 (UTC)

Thank you. My view is different and simple: infobox discussions happen only on the few FAs of a few editors (such as Mahler), and if we place them under some special protection for intentionally being different from the rest of Misplaced Pages, we are done. Most classical composers today come with an infobox without any discussion. - Today's story comes from a DYK about a concert that fascinated me, and you can listen! For my taste, the hook has too little music - I miss the unusual scoring and the specific dedication - but it comes instead with a name good for viewcount. All this is of minor importance looking at life and death. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:29, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
On the Main page today Jean Sibelius on his birthday. Listening to Beethoven's Fifth from the opening of Notre-Dame de Paris. We sang in choirs today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:57, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
Listen today to the (new) Perplexities after Escher. - Congratulations to being elected! Could you look at Samuel Barber and tell me if you miss something in his infobox? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:37, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
Listen today to Beethoven's 3rd cello sonata, on his birthday - it was a hook in the 2020 DYK set when his 250th birthday was remembered. I picked a recording with Antônio Meneses, because he was on my sad list this year, and I was in Brazil (see places), and I love his playing. - I can happily report that the Barber situation was resolved. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:46, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
I come to fix the cellist's name, with a 10-years-old DYK and new pics - look for red birds --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:36, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

List of attacks on the United States

Hello KrakatoaKatie! I came across your profile over on WikiProject Military history, where you indicated you enjoyed editing topics around American military history. I've been working on a big project over the last few weeks: List of attacks on the United States. The aim is to have a list of every time the U.S. (government/military) was attacked, but not when the U.S. was attacking. My hope is to create list of attacks by the United States once this list is finished.

Well anyway, I wanted to see if you would be interested in helping me put together some of the summaries for the list. I am fairly sure most if not all of the attacks themselves are on the list. But, I'm still working to get the summaries and references put together for each of them. If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to message me back here or on my talk page anytime! If not, I completely understand. Keep up the good work on Misplaced Pages! Cheers! The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 16:43, 3 December 2024 (UTC)

I appreciate the request, but my attention is probably going to be elsewhere for a while. Good luck with your list! Katie 04:09, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

Kataeb Party Protection

Hi. Thank you for giving Kataeb Party semi-protection status through 12/20/24. Unfortunately, IP vandalism on this page has been an issue for many years. I do not anticipate that it will improve. Would it be possible for Kataeb Party to be granted indefinite semi protection status? Firecat93 (talk) 03:22, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

We're going to start here and see what happens. I've done this for a very long time, and I don't want to protect it longer than is necessary, so escalating lengths is the way I and most admins approach this. If they return after protection expires, simply make a new RFPP request. Katie 04:07, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
Okay, will do Firecat93 (talk) 10:09, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

Katie the arb is back

I'm stoked that you and Liz are the top vote-getters, with Worm right behind. I won't be joining you but that's not terribly surprising. Keep those young-uns in line, will ya? Just Step Sideways 00:14, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2025 Arbitration Committee

Congratulations on your success in the elections and welcome to the 2025 Arbitration Committee. This is the first part of your induction onto the Arbitration Committee.

Please use the EmailUser function to indicate the email address you'd like to use for ArbCom and functionary business.

Before you can be subscribed to any mailing lists or assigned CheckUser or Oversight permissions, you must sign the Wikimedia Foundation's confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information (L37) and the VRT users confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information (L45). Please confirm that your username is listed on the Access to nonpublic personal data policy/Noticeboard. If isn't, and you haven't signed the agreements, please do this promptly and let me know when you have signed them. Instructions for signing can be found here. Again, you must sign both agreements listed in the instructions. If you have signed but your username is not listed on the noticeboard, please let me know.

Over the coming days, you will receive a small number of emails as part of the induction process. Please carefully read them. If they are registration emails, please follow any instructions in them to finalise registration. You can contact me or any other arbitrator directly if you have difficulty with the induction process.

Thank you for volunteering to serve on the committee. We very much look forward to introducing ourselves to you on the mailing list and to working with you this term.

For the Arbitration Committee, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 01:58, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

Seeking advice for potential IP sockpuppeteering

Good day. I'm in need of advice if this constitutes a legit sock case.

Currently IP address 155.69.190.63 has been reported in this ANI case, but there is another IP address sharing identical language and patterns: 155.69.184.1. Similar patterns in WP:HOUNDING, personal attacks and bad faith can be seen with both IP addresses.

Further checks indicate that both IP addresses coincidentally are Singapore-based:

Please advise if there is credible grounds for a WP:SPI and the way forward. Thank you! hundenvonPG (talk) 00:56, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

Other than to say your two IPs are probably the same person operating out of the dynamic IP range assigned to that school, I have nothing to add to the ANI discussion currently underway. Filing at SPI will do nothing for the reason I just described. I advise your to stop coming to the talk pages of various admins and allow that ANI thread to play out. 2025 Arbitration Committee

The Arbitration Committee welcomes the following new and returning members following their election by the community. Their two-year terms formally begin on 1 January 2025:

The one-year terms of these members also begin on 1 January 2025:

Upon meeting the Wikimedia Foundation's criteria for access to non-public personal data and signing its corresponding confidentiality agreement, all incoming members will be subscribed to all Committee-managed email lists, assigned the CheckUser and Oversight permissions for use in office, and given access to the CheckUser and Oversight queues on the VRT system.

We also thank our outgoing colleagues, whose terms end on 31 December 2024:

Outgoing members are eligible to retain the CheckUser and Oversight permissions, to remain active on cases accepted before their term ended, and to remain subscribed to the functionaries' and arbitration clerks' mailing lists following their terms on the Arbitration Committee. To that effect:

  • Stewards are requested to remove the permission(s) noted from the following outgoing members, who have not chosen to retain them, after 31 December 2024:
    CheckUser: Firefly, L235
    Oversight: Firefly, Guerillero, L235, Moneytrees
  • Outgoing members are eligible to remain active on cases opened before their term ended if they wish. That will be noted on the proposed decision talk page of affected case(s).
  • All outgoing members will remain subscribed to the functionaries' mailing list.
  • All outgoing members will be unsubscribed from the clerks-l mailing list, with the exception of Firefly, Guerillero, and Moneytrees, who have chosen to remain subscribed.
