|Wikia (formerly known as Wikicities) is a wiki hosting service created in 2004 by ] and ]. All wikis have common login and preferences. Creation of a wiki is subject to approval; it must have a large potential audience and be likely to attract enough editors. Projects which overlap existing Wikia or Wikimedia are not accepted. There is no means to close an inactive wikia, even if the community has moved elsewhere. Domains, names and identifiers are owned by Wikia Inc, not by the respective communities. There is also a Scratchpad wiki subdivided in categories ("]") that welcomes all content.

The Wikis listed below have their own ] convention, e.g., although most wikis use '''<nowiki>==Heading==</nowiki>''' for Section headings, this is not consistently the case. Image tags, tables, html and link tags vary widely. This is not a big issue if you wish to use a wiki farm to post brand new content. You will have to learn a new Wikitext markup but the ] editors available on most wikis below make that task very easy.
