Hi Dijxtra,

== Re: Third Wave ==
] 11:00, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, (hope I'm doing this right) I noticed you re-referenced the dates of the Third Wave experiment as 1969. I went to Cubberley during all this, and the Third Wave experiment was in April, 1967. I wasn't in Jones class myself, but I was a photojournalist at the time. I've posted the references to my website www.cubberleycatamount.com with scans from the original articles from the original student paper at Cubberley. I tried to reference these in the wiki article, but I'm not sure if I've got them referenced correctly or not - maybe you can help me fix it up properly, assuming it looks OK to you. There have been a number of articles after this time which have gotten the timeframe wrong, but these dates are confirmed both in the Catamount and in "Hassling", by Sylvia Berry Williams. Jones had left Cubberley (fired and/or resigned - he was supposedly offered another job in the district, but declined it) by June of 1969. Jones did a "United Student Movement" simulation/experiment in December 1967, and an Apartheid "experiment" in 1968 (using the color of hair or eyes or something like that as the discriminator). I hope this is how I'm supposed to communicate one-on-one... if not, sorry(!) <small>—Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 05:46, 2 December 2007 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

==Islands==
Hi there, it is good list you are making. The most obvious thing is that you need to sort out the references. (BTW, I'd like to see the source that counted 698 islands, 389 rocks and 78 reefs). In the lead I would explain more about the 66 islands with villages (formely inhabited islands?) Also, would add some history: how long people lived there, if some islands were deserted or re-inhabited. Other areas to think about is economy, political stuff, what role do those islands play in mainland Croatia, I suspect they have tourism indutry. Other thing is population density. I don't think you need 3 digits after the dot. One would do just fine. Also, I don't particularly like the color coded density. Just unneccessary. Also, add some pics. Island articles have bunches of them. ] 13:21, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
:Yes, that's article stuff if you will write a long passage on it. But if you just mention couple sentences - it's perfect for lead. Also, I was just giving you ideas, I dunno what can you come up with. ] 15:07, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Dijxtra, I believe I am one of the most mature editors on Misplaced Pages and find it a personal attack on myself that a child like PlO wants to brand my user talk with that garbage. He was being very useless on the Josip Broz Tito discussion, at which point I told him to "shutup". I think it's very obvious why he is trying so hard to keep that warning on my page, and I'm sure you'll agree. That is after all why he went straight to a Croatian Wikipedian administrator. Anyways, he is both a sock puppet and almost rarely contributes anything useful (among hiding large edits as minor edits).

Hi. Please respond on '''my''' talk page, using :'s under your previous comment. Anyway, in regards to the <nowiki>{{</nowiki>merge}} tag, now that you have expanded the article a bit, I don't mind it too much. It would be nice to see why it is considered notable: how many students go there; more famous/important alumni; etc. . I do, however, strongly object to its title. There are probably thousands of departments and faculties in various universities with exactly the same title. See ] -- the title is very specific (and that's an article about a whole group of departments, none of which have their own article). Thanks for having discussed with me before removing the tag outright! --] 13:26, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
:Also please note ] --] 13:27, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
::For consistency in WP, I believe the University name comes before the faculty, which would make it something like ] which is horribly long. It might be best if the University has some kind of 2 or 3 letter abbreviation that it actually uses (thus, "UC Berkeley ..." for sub-colleges, but "University of California at Berkeley" for the main page), something like "SuZ Faculty ..." or "UZ", whatever the school uses. I do feel quite strongly that ''']''' should not point to a faculty of the University of Zagreb, even if there are no conflicts yet. Thanks for your input, --] 14:12, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
:::You may have a point with your Google search. I'll leave the title up to your discretion. Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Gornji_grad_medvescak_map.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:28, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Featured List of the Day Experiment

There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 01:09, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Re: Third Wave

I hope this is how I'm supposed to communicate one-on-one... if not, sorry(!) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Meadowvistan1984 (talkcontribs) 05:46, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Excellent! Thank you for pointing this out, I fixed the error and will take some time to expand the article with references you provided. Thank you very much for this input, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! --Dijxtra 13:15, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Mayors of Zagreb

I found out you excluded Granić and several others from the Mayors of Zagreb category. I also don't think they should be considered real mayors, but I put them in the category because they were in the List of mayors of Zagreb. Could you delete them from that article to avoid additional confusion or set up a seperate list for mayor nominees who failed to become mayors? Thanks. Admiral Norton 20:23, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

I removed them from the list and pointed to the Zagreb Crisis article which mentions all of those candidates for mayor. --Dijxtra 20:40, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
OK thanks Admiral Norton 21:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
These articles have to go somewhere, so I put them in their own category - Category:Zagreb Crisis mayors. Admiral Norton 22:07, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I moved the category to Category:Zagreb Crisis mayor nominees, this would be more precise. --Dijxtra (talk) 22:30, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

I saw the article before, as well as its AfD, which it managed to survive, which didn't raise my enthusiasm about the state of affairs whatsoever... My current favorites include Serbia#World War II and the Serbian genocide, blatant misquote of reputable historian Wilkes at Bosniaks#Overview, and I just saw the Obavestajna Bezbednostna Sluzba linked above, which I couldn't resist to purge. I dare not search for further facts.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:10 dinara.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:10 dinara.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:13, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:Basic logic gates

A tag has been placed on Template:Basic logic gates requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 20:50, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Names of Zagreb neighborhoods

I came across some Zagreb city district articles and I noticed some items in neighborhood lists unknown to me, e.g. "Stjepan Radić" and "August Cesarec" in Gornji Grad - Medveščak. I grew up in that city district but I'm still unfamiliar with both of these names. Could you please tell me what do these names represent and why are they surrounded by quotes? Image copyright problem with Image:20000 dinara.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:20000 dinara.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Misplaced Pages's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The following images also have this problem:

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Tifa Sarajevo 2005.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? mattbr 15:49, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Bregovic Redzic Bebek 2005.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Bregovic Redzic Bebek 2005.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Misplaced Pages's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:44, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of File:Kralj Tomislav.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Kralj Tomislav.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on ] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. hmwithτ 16:40, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Dijxtra! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 9 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Nomination of List of largest empires for deletion

A discussion has begun about whether the article List of largest empires, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Misplaced Pages policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of largest empires until a concensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:16, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Notice of change

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Carlsberg Croatia

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Carlsberg Croatia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
