i really would like to get back information about this page since i am quiet attached with this serial. and infact i had checked it week just before its deletion. Daily i am watching its episodes available on Metasvideos and i am interested in knowing star cast episode wise which was nicely mentioned on this page of wikipedia.

Hello,

'''Freestyle''', or '''Latin freestyle''' (initially called '''Latin hip hop''') is a form of electronic dance music that emerged in the New York metropolitan area, Boston, Philadelphia, and Miami, primarily among Hispanic Americans, Irish Americans and Italian Americans in the 1980s. It experienced its greatest popularity from the late 1980s until the early 1990s. A common theme of freestyle lyricism originated as heartbreak in an urban environment typified by New York City. ] (]) 03:32, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

== A misplaced file (commons/enwiki) ==
I would disagree. ClearScore has 4.5 million users, and is the most visited credit checking website in the UK. There are founders of smaller companies on Misplaced Pages - for example, Tom Blomfield, CEO of Monzo: https://en.wikipedia.org/Tom_Blomfield.
A confused new user has recently uploaded obviously non-free logo to Commons. They clearly meant to upload it to enwiki, as an updated version of file that you have recently correctly deleted as unused. Since you, the deleting admin, are conveniently an admin both here ''and'' on Commons, would you mind fixing this little mess? Hi, I think you erred in closing this discussion. Opinions were divided about whether the image meets NFCC, which should have resulted in a "no consensus, default to keep" outcome, given that no one side's arguments seem to offer a particularly more compelling interpretation of the NFCC. Your reference to "precedent" is mistaken in that Misplaced Pages does not apply (binding) precedent, but looks at each case individually; this is even more so where the "precedent" is exactly one closure by your self, and took place on a notoriously poorly attended forum such as FfD, where individual discussions can't amount to much in the way of community consensus. Most of the keep arguments failed to address NFCC at all; the ones that did addressed points that weren't part of the concern to begin with. In your argument, you claimed that "It's normal practice to illustrate biographies of significant public figures", but failed to provide any evidence of this. In contrary, I provided a link to my January 2016 closure which established the exact opposite. It was the first of a series of images that would end up being deleted (for example, ], closed by {{U|Stifle}}), which led to the establishment of this precedence. You also stated that the ] serves as the subject's biographical article, which simply not true. It is an article about event which contains biographical content—a fine distinction between the two. Not once did you mention or even allude to NFCC in your initial comment or the ones which followed.
:Dennis Brown addressed one point of NFCC, but not in context to the deletion nomination. Fourthords was not arguing against its replaceability. What weight could I have given a misguided argument?
:Philosopher cited the arguments above, mostly addressing the image's replaceability. Once again, a misguided argument in context to the deletion rationale.
:Doctor Papa Jones: "per Dennis Brown and Sandstein." Ditto.
:AGreatPhoenixSunsFan: "Usually the purpose for images like this is to give a better idea as to who the perpetrator that committed an action like this was in the first place." One non-free image is allowed in the article about the perpetrator if it exists, not in the article about the incident. The aforementioned precedent established this. Additionally, this is another argument which fails to address the nominator's NFCC concern.
:The delete arguments all cited NFCC; they were specific and direct, and ultimately established a foundation against the use of the image in context of the article's main subject.
:For the record, I find arguments like of "a poorly attended forum" incredibly flimsy. These statements generally come from a place of ]. When editors take an interest of how the venue works outside of something that affects them or their work, then there might be something worth talking about. Otherwise, it really just seems like an attempt turn consensus on its head because the result isn't what the vested editor wanted. ]] 08:31, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

::Thanks for your detailed reply, which I've attempted to address at ]. I'm not aware of any specific editor having a "vested interest"; this is in and of itself a rather divisive term because it implies that editors who have made a contribution to Misplaced Pages are no longer able to professionally respond to others just because of that contribution. ] 10:16, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
:::{{Reply to|Sandstein}} To clarify, my comment of vested interest was in regards to your statement that FFD is "a poorly attended forum" where "discussions can't amount to much in the way of community consensus". These claims against FFD (and CFD) only come as a result of a contentious discussion result, and are made more in frustration thereof and not really as a process as a whole. If a genuine problem existed, remedies would have been implemented years ago to eradicate such concerns; it's simply the by-product of some feathers being ruffled. It was not meant to disregard you or the input of others users which led to the outcome. ]] 13:15, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

:{{Reply to|Wwwhatsup}} Hi, could you specify which free license is being asserted? Restoring it at this point in time would just bring back a fair use claim. ]] 13:15, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
:: Perhaps you misunderstand. I contacted the subject of the article. He confirmed he is the rightsholder of the image (a passport photo), and I nursed him into the OTRS process. He has sent an email agreeing to release it under CC BY-SA. ] (]) 19:08, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

== Merger of Category:Misplaced Pages 1.0 assessments ==

Hi, you closed ] as '''merge''' ]. It turns out that ] requires the pages to be in that category, and there is no-one currently maintaining that bot. I pinged you during the discussion at ], and am letting you know (as a courtesy) that I undid the implementation of your close for now.

As there seems to be little prospect of the bot being updated in the short term, would you consent to me removing the cfd-manual template from the category page, and de-listing it from ]? – ] ] 21:37, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

:{{Reply to|Fayenatic london}} Yes, that's fine. I contacted the two listed bot operators in hopes of a response to no avail. ]] 00:13, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Appeal of deletion of "List of controversial elections"

I would like to appeal the decision to delete the article List of controversial elections, because the article has been on WP for 12 years, with dozens of editors contributing to it, yet it was removed in the midst of a controversial election in the US with only one week of discussion. Also, no opportunity was given to allow content from the article to be moved to other articles prior to deletion. Sparkie82 (tc) 19:08, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

@Sparkie82: There was resounding consensus to delete the article. An article's age is not a valid argument to keep it. A week of discussion is the standard and is only extended if consensus is unclear, which was not the case here. There was no support to move the content anywhere else. plicit 03:52, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
I was questioning the timing of the discussion, opening an AFD in the midst of a highly contentious election which could taint any consensus and suggested that the discussion/decision occur some time after the election. In any case, how can I access the information in the article which I need for my own purposes? Sparkie82 (tc) 22:46, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

Please undelete Draft:Santikaro

Hi Xplicit and happy holidays to you and all your loved ones!

I've left a message on my talk page and on the deletion page to ask for please reinstating / undeleting my draft https://en.wikipedia.org/Draft:Santikaro

The only reason I did not get to edit it for six months is that I started teaching and it took all my time. I have been intending to make a minor edit before the deadline but forgot by mistake to set the calendar reminder.

I believe this article can be easily accepted - a number of people on here have given me useful advice on what needs to be done for the article to be easily accepted.

I would greatly appreciate undeleting it, please.

Happy holidays and happy new year, may you be well, happy and safe, -Peaceful-D Peaceful-D (talk) 15:27, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

Pictures Deleted?

I recently uploaded 2 pictures that you then moved to the delete log, and I’m not sure why. Both of the are from a public website of a public university, UL. Wouldn’t that make them free content? What is needed to allow these to be published? Thanks. Frank042316 (talk) 15:54, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

@Frank042316: I guess you're referring to File:DOL Property.png and File:OLOL Acregae.png. At the upload form, you must have indicated a licensing restriction, like noncommercial use or no derivatives, as these were automatically tagged for speedy deletion in accordance with WP:CSD#F3. What are the source links for these images? plicit 00:56, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
they are from the universities web page, and were used to nnou de the purchase of the 2 pieces of property, so very much in the public domain. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frank042316 (talkcontribs) 10:02, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
@Frank042316: Being available on the university's webpage does not mean the files are in the public domain, unless it explicitly states so. Can you provide links to determine the copyright status of these two files? plicit 11:34, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
Sure:

Thanks again. Frank042316 (talk) 11:41, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
@Frank042316: There is nothing on the website which indicates these image are freely licensed. The only copyright notice reads, "© 2024 University of Louisiana at Lafayette. All rights reserved." These images can not be used on Misplaced Pages. plicit 06:17, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

Template:Blockquote protection

No rush, but I think {{Blockquote}} was at template editor protection, not full protection, before the most recent merge/delete/undelete fun adventure that you appear to have had. It has been useful for me to be able to edit it over the past few years as people change their minds about tiny parts of MOS. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:43, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

@Jonesey95: Ah, I see it now. The protection log of {{Blockquote}} shows full protection from 2011, but over at its previous title {{Quote}}, it was reduced to template editors three years later. I've adjusted it accordingly. plicit 00:56, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
Tricky. Thanks for investigating. I think with under 200K transclusions, we'll be OK with template editor protection. – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:58, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

F7 deletions

Hi, please restore the following images so I can fix them.

1989 (talk) 06:52, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

@1989: Done, files restored. plicit 11:34, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
So because both the taken photograph and the box set are non-free, it can’t be hosted here? I would need to find a free image of the non-free box set covers then use it as fair use? Both of the images were taken by Viz Media, who also owns the box art. Given that, there shouldn’t be a layered copyright issue since there is no two separate owners. Correct me if I’m wrong. 1989 (talk) 14:17, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Deletion:Akidearest

Hi there! I wanted to reach out about the recent deletion of the article on YouTuber Akidearest. I understand the sources in the old article weren't sufficient or notable enough, so I would like to fully revise the article and put it up again for review. The original author's account is gone, so I don't know how to access the old article. I would like to reference it, if possible! Maehii (talk) 13:32, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Freestyle music

Freestyle, or Latin freestyle (initially called Latin hip hop) is a form of electronic dance music that emerged in the New York metropolitan area, Boston, Philadelphia, and Miami, primarily among Hispanic Americans, Irish Americans and Italian Americans in the 1980s. It experienced its greatest popularity from the late 1980s until the early 1990s. A common theme of freestyle lyricism originated as heartbreak in an urban environment typified by New York City. 50.29.112.115 (talk) 03:32, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

A misplaced file (commons/enwiki)

A confused new user has recently uploaded this obviously non-free logo to Commons. They clearly meant to upload it to enwiki, as an updated version of this file that you have recently correctly deleted as unused. Since you, the deleting admin, are conveniently an admin both here and on Commons, would you mind fixing this little mess? It seems to be as simple as deleting the non-free file from Commons, restoring our outdated local version, and then updating that outdated local version with the file that's on Commons right now. Thanks. 78.28.44.127 (talk) 03:50, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have deleted the Commons file and restored the local file with the recent logo. plicit 06:17, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

File:Ramesh Panigrahi.jpg

Hi Explicit. Could you take a look at File:Ramesh Panigrahi.jpg? I can't tell whether it's a reupload of the same file you deleted the other day per F4 or whether it's a different image with the same file name. The uploader is the same person so I'm thinking the image also has F4 and F11 issues even if it's a new image. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:57, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: Hi, it's a different picture from the deleted version. A bot has already tagged it for lacking a source. plicit 06:17, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for checking on this. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:23, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

File:The Computer Book (BBC 1982).jpg

Hi,

I only got back to editing Misplaced Pages today, and read the file talk page a little earlier. It was only later in the day that I have time to do some editing and was planning to convert the deletion request to an FFD as the uploader (User:Jheald) was quite passionate in his defence of the image. Would you be willing to restore so I can take it to FFD? -- Whpq (talk) 00:43, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

@Whpq: Very well, I have restored the file. plicit 00:45, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
Thanks -- Whpq (talk) 00:48, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

File:Bokontayev.jpg

Hi Explicit. Can you take a look at File:Bokontayev.jpg? This is another file that you've previously deleted twice before (once per F4 and once per F11) that could be a reupload or a new file with the same name. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:49, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

Happy Holidays!

And happy new year as well! Davidgoodheart (talk) 19:48, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

You Deleted a Page but it's still online.

@Explicit I was going to nominate a page for deletion but discovered it had been nominated in the past and ended as delete. I am surprised that the page (this page) is still online. What's happening? Joseph4real1995 (talk) 12:37, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

(talk page watcher)@Joseph4real1995: It appears the article was recreated per User talk:Reading Beans/Archives/2024/October#Speedy deletion nomination of Oyebanji Akins. There appears to have been a disagreement as to whether WP:G4 applied to the recreation. I can't see the original article that was deleted, but Explicit can. I'm sure Explicit will figure out whether the article needs to go to AfD again or meets the criteria for G4. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:35, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
