*Done a few slight changes to things like records and trivia to try and make it a bit more accessible. I'll have a look into getting a BD display image up or something this evening. Seeing as this page will be seen by more than just existing fans, is it worth putting up a section before History, with remaining fixtures, and locations, for the season into it? Never know who may stumble accross it I guess. Could move the current squad section into this aswell and group it all (upcoming fixtures/current squad/players on loan/international players) under a heading like Season 2006 or something. Why did somebody change the Honours list? We have not won 12 'Irish League Championships'. We have not competed in the Irish League since 1920. Someone changed this to 133 seconds but I think the original version using minutes and seconds which also mentionined the fact that the length of time is disputed was better. Anyone agree?

Why

Why are the recent and very important events in irish soccer little more than a foot note in the beyond section ? (Gnevin 12:33, 7 March 2007 (UTC))

Davy Walsh

Fair use rationale for Image:FAIEircomLOIsmall.png

Image:FAIEircomLOIsmall.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Misplaced Pages article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

No sources, is this really trivia though?

The following was in a trivia section - but none of it seems "trivial" to me (trivia meaning unimportant information).

Can we get a source for this material and then have it incorporated into the main article?

  • The last team to win the Irish Cup while it was still an all Ireland competition, Shels were also the first Dublin club to win a national competition when they beat Belfast Celtic 2-0 in the Irish Cup Final in 1906.
  • Shelbourne hosted the first League of Ireland match ever to be shown live on TV when Derry City visited Tolka Park during the 1996/97 season. The match finished 1-1.
  • Shels took part in the first ever FAI Cup tie to be decided by a penalty shoot-out in the 1990 competition after two draws against Bray Wanderers, but lost out to the eventual cup winners.
  • Shelbourne's Jason Byrne became the first player ever to finish top scorer in the League of Ireland for four consecutive seasons when he finished the league's top scorer again in the 2006 season. Byrne was a Shels player for all of those four seasons.
  • Shelbourne's 2006 league championship win was their fifth of the decade equalling the record set by Cork United in the 1940s.
