An IP address had vandalized The Fairly OddParents Episode List. Thanks for helping to fix it up.--] 13:06, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Patrickrox11
:You're welcome, and thanks for your help too. :-) ] 17:32, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

==Tristan DuGrey==
Chlorokinesis is a Neologism, it's not a real word. The page you recently directed as proof that Chlorokinesis is a real word is currently being re organised (as visible in the Discussion thread there), and chlorokinesis is being changed. Layla never says her power is chlorokinesis, therefore it's not. It is plant control and growth since that is what she shows. That is my reason for reverting your edit. If you have proof it's not a Neologism (and therefore doesn't break ]), then I won't revert it further. ] 12:21, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
I just thought I'd let you know that they may revert this back to the Tristin spelling, because that's what it is within IMDB and the WB's past publicity, and in closed captioning. I went through the same annoying battles over ] when I was filling in that article, and eventually had to cede because it's really Geller (even though again, only show publicity and closed captioning uses that spelling; see the PG talk for an argument against 'fan spelling').

Trust me, I'd rather it be Tristan myself (I was one of the first to ship him and Rory together), but we have to cede to the show's official publicity, even if no one cares about how it's spelled. ] 06:20, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
: Edit: Since I can't edit again without breaking the Misplaced Pages:Three-revert rule, I'll leave it as it is until I can fix this error. ] 12:23, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
::If you feel it is "not a real word," then you ought to remove it from the main article rather than just telling everyone so. Be ''']'''. And for the record, the fact that "she never says it" doesn't mean she is not; if someone has brown hair but never refers to himself or herself as ], it doesn't mean he or she is not. ] 12:34, 1 October 2006 (UTC) :The official website spells it Tristan; I think that's fair "proof." ] 06:48, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading ''']'''. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under ], but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our ] in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. Hi - I noticed your query at ]. The image is clearly tagged as a film screenshot, which means it's fair use only. That's the copyright status. Seems very clear to me regardless of who created it. Please remove the "no source" tag from this image (and you might want to review other such images you've tagged as "no source"). -- ] <small>(])</small> 16:16, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
:I did not inquire as to "the copyright status;" I tagged it as having no source. As the template states, "If the file ''also'' doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added ." ] 16:24, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
::The source is that it's a screenshot from the movie (like it says). What conceivable difference does it make? -- ] <small>(])</small> 17:19, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
:::It makes a difference per Misplaced Pages guidelines. See ]. ] 17:26, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi - I just wanted to drop by and let you know that I appreciate your persistence in pursuing policy with regard to this image. ] is an admin, and has not actively edited in nearly a year. I trust that he was not knowingly violating copyright and was not making false claims about the source of this image. I hope you're not taking my defense of him personally. I think the discussion at ] about whether declaring an image to be a screenshot identifies its source is a useful clarification. With regard to this image, the film ''is'' in color, and the alleged screenshot ''is'' black and white which certainly looks like an inconsistency. I assure you I'm on the right side in this as well — I just want to make sure Who gets a chance to explain. -- ] <small>(])</small> 03:13, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey Shannermanner. There is a lively debate about use of promo photos on wikipedia. My name is Jeff and I '''Do not support''' the interpretation of ] as implemented by user's like ]. Re your proposal to merge The Checkered Game of Life with the Game of Life. IMHO this is flawed proposal. The Checkered Game of Life is a significantly different game from the modern day game. You may be able to invoke a response by contacting some of the major or most-recent contributors via their respective talk-pages. If there is a clear agreement after two weeks, that the articles should be merged then go ahead and merge them. If there is no response after four weeks then go ahead and merge the articles." - Did this really occur? The words "if there is clear agreement after two weeks"... what do you take these to mean? I'm not convinced there was clear agreement? You responded to my disagreement on the 8th Oct and then merged on the 13th Oct (since I didn't respond), five or so days later. Did two weeks really elapse between proposal and counter-proposal? Anyway, I'm not intending to start an edit/flame war. My intentions are well meaning and I am sure are yours. I and many others who support use of fair use promotional photos have not been successful in changing the actions of Chowbok and rampant deletion and changing of many hundred's of useful images from Misplaced Pages articles continues. One good example is the ] article which had a great promo photo replaced by a terrible photo. == Episode article review notice for Hannah Montana episodes==
Shannernanner, once again you're removing content from a page (]) that you, and you alone deem inappropriate. I actually was not the person that added the descriptions of "Rory's freshman year at Yale.", "Rory's sophomore year at Yale.", etc. to the Gilmore Girls Episode list in the first place, but I do find them useful, so I added them back. Now you've seen the changes, deemed them inappropriate, and reverted them. Please explain your rationale (most likely some sort of Misplaced Pages policy, which you're extremely well versed in). As you've most likely surmised, I'm of the opinion that more is better -- Misplaced Pages is an electronic medium and it doesn't hurt to provide some extra information. I suspect you come from the minimalist camp -- more is distracting, and a page should only contain the minimal amount of content. Of which 3 latest ones where within 24 hours +10 mins. 10 minutes make little difference as 3 RR is not an entitlement or a quota. Giving preference to revert wars in favor of discussions is disruptive and may lead to blocks even while the editor stays technically under 3RR rule.

== Misplaced Pages Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict...please fill out my survey? ==

Hello :)
I am writing my MA dissertation on Misplaced Pages Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict, and I noticed that you have contributed to those pages. My dissertation will look at the process of collaborative knowledge production on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the effect it has on bias in the articles. This will involve understanding the profiles and motivations of editors, contention/controversy and dispute resolution in the talk pages, and bias in the final article.
For more information, you can check out my or my , where I will be posting my findings when I am done.
I would greatly appreciate if you could take 5 minutes to fill out ''before 8 August 2021.''

Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and anonymous. There are no foreseeable risks nor benefits to you associated with this project.
Thanks so much,

Sarah Sanbar

Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom and using headings, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages by typing four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: We, wikipedians, dislike fragmented discussions. If you leave a comment for me, I will most likely respond to it in here, in this same page, on my talk page, as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, always feel free to respond to it there, on your talk page. Remember we can use our watchlist to keep track and know when each other respond to each comment. But also feel free to send me an alert in here about a new message on your conversation side, as I might do it as well.

Thank you!

Fairly OddParents

Tristan DuGrey

I just thought I'd let you know that they may revert this back to the Tristin spelling, because that's what it is within IMDB and the WB's past publicity, and in closed captioning. I went through the same annoying battles over Paris Gellar when I was filling in that article, and eventually had to cede because it's really Geller (even though again, only show publicity and closed captioning uses that spelling; see the PG talk for an argument against 'fan spelling').

Trust me, I'd rather it be Tristan myself (I was one of the first to ship him and Rory together), but we have to cede to the show's official publicity, even if no one cares about how it's spelled. Nate 06:20, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

The official website spells it Tristan; I think that's fair "proof." Shannernanner 06:48, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Sean Michael Afable WBb.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sean Michael Afable WBb.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 01:46, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Tainted poll?

Hi. Sorry to bother you. You participated in a television episode article naming poll which now lives at this location. Some feel that wording changes have compromised the results of that poll. If you don't mind, could you please take a look at what is there now and add a quick note at WT:TV-NC#Looking for anyone who objects to the last poll to say whether your feelings on the matter remain the same? Of course you can feel free to read over the entirety of both links for more information. Thanks. —Wknight94 (talk) 02:06, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey Shannermanner. There is a lively debate about use of promo photos on wikipedia. My name is Jeff and I Do not support the interpretation of WP:FU as implemented by user's like User:Chowbok. They believe that Misplaced Pages should be free of all promotional photos that are "replaceable with an equivalent" (i.e. an amateur photo from flickr). Their rationale is being debated in many places, and take it a step further believing that all promo photos should be deleted and let someone else deal with finding and uploading a free alternative.

And many other places I've no doubt missed.

I and many others who support use of fair use promotional photos have not been successful in changing the actions of Chowbok and rampant deletion and changing of many hundred's of useful images from Misplaced Pages articles continues. One good example is the Jennifer Granholm article which had a great promo photo replaced by a terrible photo. I seek to raise the profile of this issue through challenging promotional photos on high profile article's like this one. I'm sorry, really I am, but fair use policy as implemented by Chowbok has left me with few viable options.

I invite you to join the battle for Promotional Photo usage on Misplaced Pages and the protection of Fair Use concepts. --Jeff 07:17, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your comments; I am not currently active on Misplaced Pages, but from my understanding of the former image policies and what I have read of the policies which some are trying to enforce, I do support the use of public domain images when they can be used, but do not support the mass deletion of publicity photos and other photos with the "possibility" that some public domain image may "someday" be found. However, I do not have the ability at the moment to join the debates. Thanks. Shannernanner 00:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Misplaced Pages Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict...please fill out my survey?

Hello :) I am writing my MA dissertation on Misplaced Pages Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict, and I noticed that you have contributed to those pages. My dissertation will look at the process of collaborative knowledge production on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the effect it has on bias in the articles. This will involve understanding the profiles and motivations of editors, contention/controversy and dispute resolution in the talk pages, and bias in the final article.

For more information, you can check out my meta-wiki research page or my user page, where I will be posting my findings when I am done.

I would greatly appreciate if you could take 5 minutes to fill out this quick survey before 8 August 2021.

Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and anonymous. There are no foreseeable risks nor benefits to you associated with this project.

Thanks so much,

Sarah Sanbar
