Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Verne Equinox! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Pedro Rodrigues Filho - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Park ships
I'd got these on my "to do" list, as well as the Fort ships. How about creating lists too? List of Park ships, List of Grey ships and List of Fort ships, similar to List of Empire ships (A) and the other lists of Empire ships? A template to link all ships on the list would also be a good idea. I can help with this once a list has been created. Mjroots2 (talk) 01:57, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your (copyedit) of Michel Pagliaro
Thanks for your help copyediting the article on Michel Pagliaro. I put the call out to my fellow members of the Canadian music group but it fell on deaf ears. I don't know how you found the article, but I am thankful. My only concern is the opening line. He is called a Canadian before any mention of his place of birth (that being Montreal). I'm pretty sure that he is a francophone that speaks English and is claimed by that community. Can I impose upon you to rewrite the opening along similar lines to what I had? I am sure that this English wiki article will be translated to French and copied there. Thank you very much. Argolin (talk) 08:53, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- How did I find the article? Nostalgia. He is somewhat forgotten in English Canada. I have made the change as you request, but I do wonder why we need the extra bit of geography for Quebec musicians, while someone like Sarah McLachlan does not.Verne Equinox (talk) 20:01, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, it's just me. Maybe you can help me. I believe I have spent too much time trolling the Category:Canadian indie rock groups. Many articles in that group are stub or start class and do not follow the Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style (music) or any wikipedia guide. I have a check list of sorts to go through (I still have M-Z to go):
- infobox
- infobox format + complete
- categories
- {{Portal|Music of Canada|Tower-wireless-can.png}}
- discography
- table of contents
- opening
When there is little text for the article, I have given the first sentence of the article a consistent format. Something like: "Band X is a Canadian indie-rock band formed in 2007 from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada."
From an editor POV, is that ok? Many of the wiki guides deal with editing "good articles" trying to advance them up to the next level. I have yet to find a style guide (or whatever) dealing with stubs (ie. minimun standards like my list above). Here is a list of a few:
- The Acorn
- Black Mountain (band)
- Constantines
- Eric's Trip
- The Ghost Is Dancing
- Hey Rosetta!
- In-Flight Safety
- Lightning Dust
In truth when I started at the A's, all I did was provide an infobox, categories, the {{Portal|Music of Canada|Tower-wireless-can.png}}, and TOC. I dealt with the format/structure of the article not content. As I moved through the alphabet, I realised that maybe I should address the opening.
Thanks very much. Argolin (talk) 21:09, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
- P.S. I have refused to do anything to The Joys article. Please, don't waste your time either.
- Your lead-in is fine, try to build on it: look for info that distinguishes the group from all the others. I edited Eric's Trip as an example. I also went to Flickr to see if there were any public domain photos of Cdn bands. If you check my contribs for today you will see what I found with a few hours searching. Hope this is of some help. - Just a final thanks for helping and for the pix! Argolin (talk) 06:31, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Misplaced Pages:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:18, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
