:I looked at Ladislav's contribs today as I was wondering why it has been a while since he has commented on what has been going on at the various crypto articles that we frequently edit. I noticed this talk page thread was the only recent edits he has made. I enjoyed reading the biographical links about Ladislav and learning about him, and at the same time find the accusations that {{user|Smallbones}} to have made to be unfounded. This to me looks like ] and I believe the line was crossed when in a span of less than 30 days Smallbones asserted without any evidence that Ladislav has some COI that must announce (with no evidence than other than Ladislav's frequent edits to a narrow range of articles). There was no mention whatsoever in any of the press clippings or nor the interesting 7 minute audio interview of any ] and that leaves me wondering what is the basis for these accusations (in fact all the sources state that Ladislav doesn't own any crypto, which would be the most common COI in this topic area). I thought I would ping a few more eyes to this {{ping|MER-C}} & {{ping|TonyBallioni}}. I don't have any evidence that these accusations are the reason Ladislav stopped editing, but this is just the sort of thing that drives editors away. Note that in the section just above this Smallbones also opended a ] noticeboard about Ladislav (and me as well for good measure). A bit over the top in my opinion. It was wrong for Mercir to cut the four relevant refs I had added and then to assert that the edits were largely unsourced. These refs document the validity of the edits. The question is who first proposed the ideas underlying blockchain. The current text asserts (incorrectly) that Nakamoto was first, and the text provides no justification for this assertion. Similarly for the concept of proof of work. At a minimum, point out the claims with the documenting refs, and let the reader decide. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 16:52, 15 October 2018 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Dear Ladislav,
:::: The "two statements of a misfact" are based on sources cited in the article. I can understand that you see it differently, but you do not have any reliable source supporting your opinion yet.
I am very glad to collaborate with someone I assume is another mathematician on the Rate of Return article. I suspect though that you have misunderstood the point about the application of return methods to logarithmic returns in cases where there are net flows. Flows should be compensated for when calculating logarithmic returns, the same as ordinary returns, and unless you use a time-weighted approach, it is easy to construct counter-examples to the usual composition laws, across time sub-periods, and between currency return and the return in instrument currency.
If you are interested, we can collaborate, but please do not delete my contributions without any discussion on the Talk page first. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 13:52, 14 May 2020 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Hi Ladislav, I appreciated your comments on my AfD a lot. Would you also like to comment on ] and ]? --] (]) 18:46, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
:* There is no doubt that there were prior inventions, and such an information is mentioned in the article and confirmed by the cited sources. None of those inventions qualified as a blockchain, however, missing several attributes of blockchain. Per the sources cited in the article, the previous inventions were just ideas, on which the Nakamoto's invention of blockchain was based.

Hi, would you like to also comment on ]? --] (]) 04:50, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
:::: You are right that the prior work could have been discussed more thoroughly. I added some sourced information related to the difference between the blockchain and the previous attempts to create a system maintaining document certificates. It also mentions the Hashcash as one of the ideas incorporated. As to your claim mentioning Chaum, it is not obvious whether Nakamoto knew some of Chaum's works or not. On the other hand, Chaum concentrated on design of a digital currency, and it is questionable whether there was any invention that could be characterized as blockchain-related. Note also that the ] article does mention Chaum's work.

== Financial markets content project ==

Hello,

My name is Tijana and I am a team leader of Wikinvesting.com project. Along with five of my colleagues and friends who are investment and trading enthusiasts, I have started the Wikinvesting which is based on MediaWiki platform.

Wikinvesting is a non-profit, game-changing movement which aims to round up all those individuals who believe that unbiased financial market information and knowledge should be extensively available to everyone. And this is also how I got to you :) Namely, I was searching for information I needed on financial markets and I have noticed that there isn’t a lot of "useful" information available on Misplaced Pages (to my surprise). In addition to that, the information available through sites such as Investopedia or Investing is tightly controlled by the business owners and hence easily manipulated. Simply, traders like me could not trust such sources in planning the investment and trading strategy...

So, what we want to create is a base where active or aspiring traders, content writers, investors, and generally financial enthusiasts will share their knowledge and experience, discuss investment opportunities, analyze news etc., all for the purpose of wikinvesting becoming the biggest financial knowledge “open source” base. I am not sure if you are familiar with the recent case of GameStop where gaming enthusiasts gather around the GameStop via reddit forum and prevented the hedge funds from sinking it down. They were basically our inspiration to starting this project.

I would love to share more information about this project with you and also discuss future potential opportunities, hence if you are interested, please let me know so we can continue this on our slack channel.

Cheers,

General sanctions alert

Please read this notification carefully, it contains important information about an administrative situation on Misplaced Pages. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

A community decision has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to the blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here.

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Misplaced Pages, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Hey mate, I'm brand new at this, was just wondering what the reason was behind reverting my edit? I'm trying to learn what best practice is. Thanks! DorkyP (talk) 23:07, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello, DorkyP. Perhaps it has been harsh from me, but it looked that your edit destroyed at least one existing citation, not giving any other to confirm the changes. It is possible that it could have been repaired. When editing, you should make sure that the citations work. I am not against updates, if you actualize both the information and the citation so that it actually works. Ladislav Mecir (talk) 23:16, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for replying so quickly! I just updated the citations, and thought I double-checked to make sure they worked. Sorry if I broke them! I just noticed they were three years out of date, and thought I could assist. Please let me know if I could do anything differently to get these updated values up and running. DorkyP (talk) 23:30, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

You can do it, DorkyP but make sure the citations work. They really did not when I reverted your edits. Ladislav Mecir (talk) 00:13, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Thanks mate, you were right, one of the links was poorly formatted. Thanks heaps for your help on this! DorkyP (talk) 06:05, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

bitFlyer page draft review

I was wondering if you would be willing to weigh in on whether this draft is better than the current BitFlyer page. A couple editors seemed to think the draft was better and one used the draft to replace the prior page. Then a third editor came by and deleted most of the page. As a result, I am unclear what consensus is or what I should be doing to improve it. Thank you. Sebastien0693 (talk) 17:24, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Financial markets content project

Cheers,

Notice that you are now subject to a sanction

The following sanction has been imposed on you:

You are indefinitely banned from the topic of Bitcoin Cash, broadly construed

You have been sanctioned for continued tendentious editing regarding the naming of Bitcoin Cash. The tendentious editing was first documented in 2018, and since then you have continued to WP:REHASH the naming dispute through multiple requests for comment and apparent sealioning.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator as authorised by the community's decision at Misplaced Pages:General sanctions/Blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and the procedure described by the general sanctions guidelines. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions for that topic. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction at the administrators' noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. — Wug·a·po·des01:58, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

I have seen that you are an active contributor to the Bitcoin Cash article. I would like to inform you that there is currently a discussion on the Talk page about splitting Bitcoin SV out from the Bitcoin Cash article. You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service

Hi Ladislav Mecir! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Misplaced Pages in over six months.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in six months.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|Ladislav Mecir|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name subscribed to the FRS, you may be receiving this message on your new username's talk page still. If so, make sure your new account name is subscribed to the FRS, using the same procedure mentioned above.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you! The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
