Proposed deletion

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Buddha as an Avatar of Vishnu, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Misplaced Pages:What Misplaced Pages is not and Misplaced Pages:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Misplaced Pages, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Buddha as an Avatar of Vishnu. What on earth are you talking about? It's irrelevant because it is not about the "Mediterranean race", which is the subject of the article. It is also full of inaccuracies. One section was a general statement about the concept of "Caucasoids" and the other was about the sons of Noah! Also "Maleabroad", please don't hide behind anonymity. Personal attack by Riveros11

Maleabroad,

OK, just to help you understand what is going on the Brahma Kumaris page.

Riveros is a Brahma Kumari from Tampa. BK Luis Riveros, a teacher and a recruiter for what he calls the "New Religious Movement" of the BKWSU. I personally do not agree is it is one. A "New Religious Movement" would make it another Kali Yugi cult. He is seeking to dominate the article by intimidating any other contributor away and recently he learnt the new trick of slapping Vandalism accusations on every one else to damage their reputation and have them blocked. Encourged by a group of BKs, he is attempting to re-writing the article along the lines of his chosen quotations from academic papers and exclude any self-published material from the BKWSU which is, of course, wholly acceptable. He refuses any other's input.

If you want to contribute, it is probably best to enter into discussion about the article first and make conservative changes first. This is, of course, a waste of time because Luis does not want to listen and will ignore you. I tried to engage him in discussion via Arbitration and Mediation, notifying him of it, but he refused to engage. But, we have to try, if nothing else to expose what he is up to.

I do not know where you are coming from as regards the BKWSU but best play by the rules of the Wiki. You could if you wish put in a complaint to the admins about Luis behavior because he is quite clearly attempting to use intimidation to dominate the article.

Please work with other editors on Buddha as an Avatar of Vishnu. Reverting dozens of edits as you have done might be considered vandalism, but what the other editors are doing (working on the article), does not. I did not say the Magi were descended from Rajputs. I said there was a Brahmin caste among the Rajputs called the Magacharya who are descended from the Iranian Magi. Exactly what you said. Also, the Rig Veda denounced the worship of idols or images as non-Aryan or mleccha. In the later Vedas and more prominently, during the time of the Indo-Greeks, image worship and idols played a more prominent role in Indian religious life, beginning with the Greco-Buddhist statues in ancient northwestern India (now western Pakistan and eastern Afghanistan). Sorry for not responding sooner. I was busy. The Iranians, or their Indo-Iranian forbears at least, used to worship the Devas until for some apparent reason, they abandoned the Devas for the Asuras or Ahuras, switching the dichotomy. Is possible that tribes of the Aryans did this wholescale, signalling their transition into the Iranian branch. Or, the Iranians themselves, even after the split, still worshipped the Devas. However, by the time of the arrival of Zoroastrianism, the dichotomy was recorded to have been reversed and the Iranians from then on until the time of Islam, worshipped the Ahuras as opposed to the Devas. So the Iranians did worship the Devas in some form, but were compelled to switch the dichotomy and worship the Ahuras instead, either due to a disagreement with the Indians or due to theological pressures from Zoroaster. With regards to Indra and Indar, I'm not sure. I was under the impression that, since Indra, apart from little characteristics, has no apparent counterpart outside of the Indo-Aryan world, he was in some degree based on a historical Indo-Aryan leader who was deified for some sort of attempted genocide (ie: wiping out their ethnic enemies, either the Iranian Aryans or the indigenous Indians.). BKWSU and Hinduism

These people want to remove their activities as far from being classified to or connected with Hinduism as possible. The even claim that Raja Yoga is not Hindu.

I wrote a lengthy edit about the origins of the organization in the Sind, here and they tore it to pieces demanding citations and references from Western academics whilst refusing to look at accept those from the sub-continent - which were given. The thought that their founder Kirpalani was a Vallabacharya was just too much for them I think! Likewise they want to hide away the Brahmin principles which are quite ordinary in India.

I have been away while doing some research to get the items removed by Riveros11 and the BK IT Team back into the article. I am in agreement with you on the value (historical/sociological/religious) of the origins of the NRM/Sect (Brahma Kumaris). Yes, I am in agreement that Riveros11 doesn't listen, nor does he discuss, nor enters into discussion in a neutral way. So, when I do bring forth the citations it would be nice if you could offer the Hindu meanings as I am not as well versed as you in that area. Also, please don't let Riveros11/Avyakt7 and all the many IP's that he uses incite you as your knowledge base is too valuable to other articles beyond this one to risk being banned. He seems to home in on editors that may pose a challenge and has had his focus on other editors. Also, please note that other editors like myself, are just trying our best to work on articles of interest to us, have good intension and are very dedicated.

You are correct in that the Brahma Kumaris tell folks they can be of any religion to partake of the "Knowledge", but I see now that Riveros11 is claiming that it is now mainly a Western emerging religion, with a greater Western influence? Yes, it is odd considering that 90% of the BKs are of Indian origin....I wonder how they would take such news! Have you heard the term ERASURE? I first heard about it in the late 90's in a sociology conference (annual) in Houston Texas from a sociologist from Brown University. In essence his paper was about the sociological ERASURE (erasing people's history) within the black community to denote their history, their contributions and their identity (to lose this can be devastating). So, your efforts are not lost as I see the value of the origins, the value in the people from whom we take, the historical meaning within and yet others try to erase. I now see what he was speaking about in the world context of sociological study.

I don't know entirely where you are coming you from, with regards the BKWSU issue, but you cant just blast a Wiki article like that. It will only work against your position. However angry and upset you are, however wrong you might consider the statements, you will only defeat yourself by acting in such a manner. Be cool headed.

Wiki policy is a higher authority than truth and in this, and all other cases of the Misplaced Pages. Riveros11 will "win" purely because that references is an academic reference not you or his "point of view". If you want to make a statement. Unfortunately you have to find a citable reference, written by an expert, that supports you position. You could be of great help IF you can find reputable Hindu/India sources to support your references.

Maleabroad, when I said "found" I said I found it in my search, not actually start the article, lol! Also, it was initially full of POV, probably added later on. It made statements suggesting Hinduism as being followed in Iran, when it was never followed there to begin with. Hinduism and Zoroastrianism both stem from a comon faith. Also, I'm not Zoroastrian, but I am a Pakistani of Pashtun background and indeed of ultimate Iranian origin. Some of my ancestors would definitely been followers of Zoroastrianism Afghan Historian 21:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Original research: Anachronistic classification of everyone from mythical/ancient kings to modern Indian Army soldiers along caste/ethnic lines. Content is covered under more precise and accurate articles/categories such as List of Indian monarchs and Category:Indian Army personnel.
