The Uninvited Co., Inc.'s pseudonymous self, 2018, Upper St. Anthony Falls

The Uninvited Co., Inc.; a pseudonym for Steven Dunlop.

My first edit was on March 27, 2003, to Keyboard instrument. I am one of the 100 longest-serving administrators on Misplaced Pages and one of the two longest-serving bureaucrats.

I was one of the proponents of the formation of the arbitration process and was one of the original members of the arbitration committee. After helping develop the arbitration policy, and participating in the first few cases, I resigned. I rejoined the committee after receiving the support of the community in the December 2006 election and remained a member until September 2008.

I was previously an active participant in, and administrator of the Volunteer Response Team, then known as OTRS.

I was a checkuser and oversight operator from 2006-2009.

  • Essay I wrote prior to my WikiVacation from December 2004 to February 2005
  • statement on Misplaced Pages Copyright and Licensing. I have been a long-time advocate of the CC-BY-SA license for Misplaced Pages, and contributed the first CC-BY-SA licensed image.

Previously participated at:

  • Meta, where I was an administrator for a time
  • Member of the communications committee to the Wikimedia Foundation board of trustees, during its period of activity in 2006-2007.

Outside Misplaced Pages

My professional career has been in management and in software development, mostly for small start-ups and development-stage companies. My work at more recognizable companies includes nine years at Thomson Reuters as a quant for the fixed income and derivatives markets, and nearly two years as a software development manager at Motorola.

I work semi-professionally in the performing arts as a musician, lighting designer, and stage electrician. I hold a general-class amateur radio license, a pilot certificate, and an instrument rating. I enjoy sailing and scuba diving in Lake Superior, and other waters throughout Minnesota, and in the Florida Keys. I am a member of the Board of Directors for a local makerspace.

I am married and have six children and stepchildren, who are all now adults.

What's in a name?

My username was inspired by a theater company of the same name, now defunct.
