Hi, mind telling me your reasoning behind rejecting ] as an article? You stated it has "Insufficient RS to demonstrate GNG" despite it having 4 RS cited in the article itself and even more as potential references.<small>] (])</small> 01:19, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
:Not at all. Metacritic is a review aggregator; the Gamasutra article is written by an officer of Level Up Labs and is, therefore, not ]; and "destructoid.com" demonstrates no evidence of being a RS (it is not, itself, sourced by unambiguously RS). That leaves two routine reviews in something called RPGamer which, without delving into whether or not that is an RS, is simply not ]. If there are additional sources you didn't include, you'll need to include them. The reviewing standards of AfC specifically disallow reviewers from conducting a ]; all responsibility is left to the person making the submission (i.e. you). ] (]) 01:25, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
::According to ], Destructoid is indeed a trusted source if the content is an official review. (See ]). RPGamer is also a trusted source (See ]) and counts as significant coverage, not to mention the SIGCOV in the number of other reviews linked from Metacritic. It seems like you are the one who hasn't conducted any research, at the very least you haven't gone over what is and isn't a reliable source before jumping into reviewing videogame articles.<small>] (])</small> 03:47, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
:::Additionally, the Gamasutra article is not self promotion, but a ] source. It doesn't appear motivated solely to sell more copies of the game or as advertising. Obviously primary sources cannot demonstrate notability on their own but they are allowed to exist in articles if there are other RS that do.<small>] (])</small> 03:53, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
::::] I think your understanding of the consensus on Destructoid is not in sync with my reading. The motivation of a non INDEPENDENT article is irrelevant; it is fine to use but almost never contributes to N. Metacritic, as said, is a review aggregator. That leaves RPGamer which does not by itself constitute significant coverage and would not by itself even if it were the New York Times. Feel free to resubmit the article for a second opinion. There's nothing more I can do for you. Best of luck.] (]) 07:29, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

I would appreciate if you could refrain from ], as you did most recently and have repeatedly done in the past. Combined with your selective (mis-)characterization of issues when you do find a new forum, and your refusal to ping participants impartially, it suggests a pattern of behaviour that is ultimately POV-pushing and/or unCIVIL. It would be great if we could nip this in the bud, before it pushes us back to ANI. Thanks! ] (]) 19:57, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
:I'm sorry if I've done something to upset you, but seeking feedback for purposes of clarification of a point in the forum dedicated to discussion of that very point is not forum shopping, per the Multiple Issue Carve Out: {{xt|"Where multiple issues do exist, then the raising of the individual issues on the correct pages may be reasonable, but in that case it is normally best to give links to show where else you have raised the question."}} It is not unusual for a discussion about RS in the Talk page of an article to prompt a properly linked and related inquiry at the RS noticeboard, nor is it unusual for a discussion about an interpretation of a specific ] criteria to prompt a properly linked and related inquiry at its respective talk page. To the separate issue of me "mischaracteriz"ing you, I am unaware of any instances where I have done that. Therefore, I would encourage you to raise that issue at ANI as I don't believe it is within my power to provide what it is you seek. I regret I am unable to offer you a response that you are likely to find satisfactory and hope you will accept, in advance, my apology in that regard. ] (]) 20:08, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

Your header and description of the "game manufacturer" issue, and your description of the Dream Pod 9 issue at DRV, are both plainly mischaracterized. The sentence immediately preceding the one you quoted in the previous Forum shopping section states, "Queries placed on noticeboards and talk pages should be phrased as neutrally as possible, in order to get uninvolved and neutral additional opinions." You might want to try that since, for example, "provided they manufacture science fiction games" was not something I or anyone else had suggested as a criterion for the NORG exclusion, and the "corporate article on a vacuum cleaner company" comparison wasn't intended to launch the DRV in a neutral manner, either.

== Internship and Trainee J1 Visa Program ==
Hello, in response to the comment left on the sandbox for the titled draft article "Internship and Trainee J1 Visa Program": ''"Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Misplaced Pages. You can find it and improve it at ] instead."''
The sections in the main J1 Visa Misplaced Pages article do not reference directly what the Internship & Trainee Programs are; the linked Misplaced Pages articles for the words "Internship" and "Trainee" separately reference a general overview of what the terms mean, yet not the specific program considerations and requirements. Meanwhile, another J1 program is linked to it´s own article "Summer Work Travel", specifying the direct requirements of the program, for example. The existing J1 Visa article does not include specific information detailing the Internship & Trainee program, which has many similarities to the Summer Work and Travel program, and should therefore have it´s own article in the same vein.
Keeping all this in mind, please reconsider the possibility of publishing the rejected article.

Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:23, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Who
Hi, any idea who RodeoReal76164 is?--Bbb23 (talk) 16:02, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Bbb23: Possibly a stupid question, but isn't that Daronandon? Polygnotus (talk) 18:46, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- No idea. I suppose I could request a CU. Honestly, I know nothing about the history of this whatever-it-is.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:25, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oh yes, that's a good point. Now that I read their comments on the Talk page more closely there does seem to be some similarity. Chetsford (talk) 00:42, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- On further examination, Polygnotus, I think you're correct and have filed an SPI here. Chetsford (talk) 03:26, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- Some of the word and phrasing use might lead one to believe it is MartinPict or one of its affiliated accounts. Beyond that, I could only speculate. Chetsford (talk) 23:56, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- All this drama on one of the most boring articles on Misplaced Pages! Polygnotus (talk) 08:05, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

Hello Chetsford, what are the specific issues with my article and how can I address them? SheneganShaw (talk) 02:10, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi SheneganShaw - you have four sources. Two of those appear to be your analysis of YouTube videos. This is problematic from the standpoint of both WP:OR and WP:RS. Your other two sources are offline -- which is totally fine -- but don't contain enough information (i.e. publisher, page number, etc.) by which we could determine, at a minimum, if they're RS, let alone WP:VERIFY their contents or existence. Please also read WP:SIGCOV. Chetsford (talk) 02:14, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- I have two book sources (that do include pages, authors, and titles, I dont see the issue) and two indepth videos by Olympic wrestlers describing and performing the techniques. I don't see how I am outside of the rules or short on reference. The issue also with wrestling techniques is that information about them is much more videod than written, and yet still I found two good literature sources... Ive been trying to publish this for so long, please help me SheneganShaw (talk) 19:18, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi SheneganShaw - you're free to resubmit it if you feel my review was not correct and another editor will be along soon to look at it. Chetsford (talk) 19:35, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

Question on Red Square Christmas Market
Excuse me, but how do the warnings on my article make sense? No where do I promote the Christmas market, by that logic any article about any event like that should be considered promoting it. And also it, could you please explain why the sources are unreliable? Viceskeeni2 (talk) 20:07, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- IMO, the first two sentences of the "Stands" section reads like a tourist brochure. Insofar as sources go, Radio Sputnik is on our list of deprecated sources. That said, if you disagree, just remove the tags - no problem. Chetsford (talk) 00:43, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- So I can remove those two on the top of the article if I remove the Radiosputnik article? Viceskeeni2 (talk) 08:10, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sure, or you can just remove them if you don't think they're valid or whatever. Our policy on deprecated sources is here -- WP:DEPS. You can review it and see if you feel it applies in this case. I'm not the sheriff of Misplaced Pages. Chetsford (talk) 08:33, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks 👍 Viceskeeni2 (talk) 09:22, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

You declined my RPP request for the above. The offending editor is back with a revert (diff) plus a very childish response on the talkpage discussion. Would you be prepared to revert the page to a stable version then protect? 10mmsocket (talk) 20:21, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- 10mmsocket -- I just undid the editor's latest edit. If this happens again, please let me know and I'll address it at the user-level. Chetsford (talk) 20:28, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- You are a fine person. Many thanks. 10mmsocket (talk) 20:29, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
Internship and Trainee J1 Visa Program
Hello, in response to the comment left on the sandbox for the titled draft article "Internship and Trainee J1 Visa Program": "Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Misplaced Pages. You can find it and improve it at J-1 visa instead."
Thanks. Rafaelegs2024 (talk) 15:32, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Rafaelegs2024. I'm afraid I don't understand the difference between Internship and Trainee J1 Visa Program and J-1 visa, however, this may be a personal failing. I'll ask someone else to review your draft in short order. Thanks for your patience. Chetsford (talk) 15:45, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Rafaelegs2024 - please see my comment here. Someone should be able to look at this in the near future and remedy any error. Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. Chetsford (talk) 15:52, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – December 2024
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2024).

- Technical volunteers can now register for the 2025 Wikimedia Hackathon, which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. Application for travel and accommodation scholarships is open from November 12 to December 10, 2024.

- An arbitration case titled Palestine-Israel articles 5 has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case will close on 14 December.

Stuff
Thanks for the DYK review. In it you said that ... Stuff may be questionably reliable for BLPs ...
could you please clarify why you think this? I'm just curious as I haven't heard someone question its reliability before. It might be the largest news media website in the country. ―Panamitsu (talk) 00:36, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- Panamitsu - disregard my comment. I had it confused with a different Stuff. Chetsford (talk) 00:41, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, haha. No worries. ―Panamitsu (talk) 00:51, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
