A lot of the Command and Colors games do use blocks but quite a few do not (eg the Great War). More important all of them can be played without using blocks and using figures instead of blocks for the Ancients Command and Colors is quite common. Block wargames strictly speaking is a game that uses blocks to create a fog of war. A lot of the Command and Colors games do use blocks but quite a few do not (eg the Great War). More important all of them can be played without using blocks and using figures instead of blocks for the Ancients Command and Colors is quite common.
