No, absolutely not. WMOS indicates that I should attempt to defend myself as well as possible which I have been doing at . I hope I have not been presumptuous in that regard. I think you have got your bearings off because because the two IP numbers for those two are from two different countries, which if it were all true, would make quite a conspiracy. re talk:i a
- your comments seemed to demonstrate that you hadn't read the archive as you were repeating points made there which hadn't produced any effect. i repeated my comment because you continued to give this impression.
- your acusation against me was random, not randomly directed, & the archive bears this out. for example premier compares the aleged 'aboriginal cannibalism' to the holocaust & dispution of it to holocaust denial. this point was higlighted by me then! having read that & other comments of his from before i became involved you still wished to claim this person might have been provoked be me? i believe the best interpretation was that you hadn't read it.
- your accusations of 'mindlessness' continue to belie your claim to have read the archive anything more that cursorarily: it had been decided the material would not go in until properly sourced, hence the reverts.
- blaming me for 'picking a fight' after apparently changing your mind about the material? given that you seemed to be encouraging this user with his cannibalism claims, the most natural interpretation was that u were continuing with this line. until your last u hadn't bothered to clarify this point. hence also my 'bombastic' re-iteration of points from the archive
- your ad hominen attacks ('mindless' etc.) are unhelpful to say the least. as an admin u should be aware of this. ⇒ bsnowball 13:14, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
it has been pointed out to me that i misinterpreted your initial intervention in that discussion. my apologies for not assuming good faith in that instance. aside from that, i cannot help thinking that treating someone like premier w/ kid gloves, while assuming that someone who is simply rude &/or carried away with a debate does not merit being disabused of their mistake, is seriously misplacing priorities. yes, i was stupid, but under the circumstances i cannot honestly apologise for anything further than that. yours begrudgingly ⇒ bsnowball 16:54, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
No worries
That's OK - I understood exactly what you were trying to do when I saw your first intervention the other night, and was quite impressed with your efforts to engage Premier. Unfortunately I think it was contingent on other parties to leave you to do your job in peace, and emotions had run so high already that that was never going to happen. Gotta love WikiDisputes :) Best of luck with it. Orderinchaos78 22:55, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
- I think it would have helped my ability to stay more neutral on this if these guys weren't so obviously CEC/One Nation wingnuts. I've had more than a few try and recruit me over the years. Orderinchaos78 00:42, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- True - that's why I accepted that there should be *a* mention of cannibalism in the article, as it definitely was on the minds of a lot of writers about Aboriginals in the earlier half of last century, but that it should be an appropriately researched, balanced and NPOV one. If this thing isn't bigger than its editors (and their politics), it's really not worth anything more than their opinions (the quote about arseholes comes to mind :)). My comment btw related more to the talk page edits today, rather than the actual edits to the article. Orderinchaos78 01:33, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
As someone who has been through UWA anthrop dept in the days of the Berndts I tend to see the desperate need to prove that 'C' existed some desparate anxiety issue for those who have little or no understanding of the complexity of human societies - or the agendas that anthrop's get caught up in - I wont even start here. Nevertheless I firmly believe anyone who is so desparate to have one sentence in an art to satisfy the need has no place on wikipedia when you consider the time space and energy consumed in coping with it. Order is right - it needs to find itself a place in blogosphere not wiki. SatuSuro 03:17, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Real quickie
At the risk of talk page spam - could you have a quick look at Cullacabardee, Western Australia? I've just written it then, and I have a feeling it needs someone who hasn't worked on it to cast an eye over it. More sections will be added later, but when I came to this I thought I was doing a suburb article and ended up in the middle of government documents, highly suspect POV news reports and submissions to inquiries. Feel free to edit as appropriate, I got the articles through my student access to a news search database hence no URLs. Orderinchaos78 09:36, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Wollemia
Hi Hesperian - thanks for doing the move (I'd wanted to do so for some time but felt unable to do so as having been involved in the return move proposal). It should however (as a monotypic genus) be at the genus name (c.f. Ginkgo, Cryptomeria, Sequoia, Metasequoia, etc., etc.) rather than the full species name. Want to move it on, or shall I? - MPF 02:23, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Removal of warning from User talk:Rebecca
I'm curious as to how an edit summary of " two critics views that happen to agree with your own still isn't an NPOV summary" (when I've expressed no views on the movie and in fact haven't even seen it) do not constitute an attack? Seraphimblade 03:20, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- Effectively, Rebecca is making an accusation of POV and bad faith (attempting to put my own views on something), when what was inserted into the article was summarized, sourced, and, far from being POV, simply was a listing of the available sources. I suppose technically it isn't an attack per WP:NPA, but it certainly doesn't strike me as a very good way of handling things, nor as meeting assumption of good faith or being civil. Seraphimblade 03:38, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Is there any significance to a place appearing twice in the Geoscience database? eg. Tardun ie. Is there a subtle difference between the two records aside from the fact that they're 5 minutes apart. — Moondyne 08:24, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Of cities by area - when do we get to the point of putting it up for Afd? (sigh) oh - it was so good being away from wikipedia - reality sure has problems (ie coming back) :) SatuSuro 00:16, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe a garland around such articles should be placed - like this article is probably improbable but in the interests of Douglas Adams and Dr Heisenbergs assertions about reality - you are reading what might be improbably correct, or correctly explained as improbable " (it's all right I have just had breakfast) - that should keep one lot of contributors staggered for a second or two. and others SatuSuro 00:40, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

On leafy prose...
On Talk:Frankston South, Victoria I am talking to someone who seems reasonable and whom I believe I have a chance of educating, trying to argue that the word "leafy" is not really encyclopaedic. Any ideas? Orderinchaos78 01:55, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Port Hedland
Fun for all in there - a newbie with an IP address has made around 50 small edits in the last 2 days, most of which are either inserting questionable claims or unsourced (or poorly sourced) new information into the article. Gnangarra, SatuSuro and I have been trying to keep the content on track, I've also made a good faith effort to communicate with the user but have not had any response. Not sure where to go from here so thought I'd let you know.
And BTW I'm suitably impressed about the watchlist of 4,000! Mine's slowly marching towards 1,000. Orderinchaos78 08:29, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Notice
No harm done, while I've got your attention have you seen a positive tag about an article being edited by its subject, I've been dealing with an IP editing the article The Blood one of the band members was editing under that IP. The issues are a bit more complex than Lynes might understand - if I ever get the work done on the west coast tas arts and the Pedder art and a few other things - then you might get a glimpse of the complexity of the issues that accompanied the two sagas - I just have to reduce my talk by 90% and nose down, all very unlikely considering the many projects in mind - and I havent even started checking my enthusiasms for hakeas yet ( I have grown h.petialaris and h. laurina and tuarts (!) on the darlington bauxite that i owned until earlier this year) see what I mean - scattered - boy I envy banksia and cricket project people, such dedicated workers, with fixed subject areas :) SatuSuro 12:29, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

To let you know
Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Australian maritime history Appears viable and is now started - please excuse any rough patches in the start - any suggestions would be appreciated! SatuSuro 01:24, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- The Article list is meant to be a list in progress - as there is no really good maritime history article on the whole of wikipedia IMHO - (the category area for maritime hist has usa fragments for instance) we need to see the largest range of associations for the article list - and hopefully the list then can be prioritised for where the biggest gaps are. Thanks for your input! SatuSuro 05:34, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Cultural Cringe
Hey I saw you reverted my edits to Cultural cringe. I was particuarly confused by your edits to talk. Could this be further discussed there or is this like an administrater bar on the topic? The Rules thing seems a little bit peculiar to me, that is all. --Rugby 666 11:44, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
But I think wikipedia is far too mundane for that. My big salient(thank god I have got one) is that user:Licininius very clearly loves soccer on his user page, and I very clearly do not like soccer(hence I generally do not edit soccer pages), all of Licinius's edits and as many as his sockpuppets as I have seen attacked either football or you, or Grant65, or Ambi, things that I have clearly not done. It is not particuarly creative to ridicule Rules in Sydney as not really Australian, as can be evidenced by the eight professional teams in Melbourne and one in Sydney, that does not make me Licinius. But by all means do a checkuser. Cheers --Rugby 666 12:32, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

York Road
Why I had done it that way was I thought the actual named road 'old york road' in contemporary sense simply exists in Greenmount locality - while the york road could be considered to be the whole road - hope that makes sense - I have just started a stub called helena vale - I suspect that I should have called it Helena Vale, Western Australia - I was wondering as a favour could you please change it over? - Thread 1,231 (my joke about my scattered contrib history) going down.... here goes SatuSuro 12:36, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- A very stubbish stub has started for the lighthouses. Ok - I would separate convict era from more recent in my mind as the convict ones tend to be archeolog work while the latter is heritage inventory stuff at Shires of Mundaring and Kalamunda of which I have the mundaring index on me (as wellas the online HC list) .. - Hey, you're in the running to catch up with moon and bananabucket ! :) SatuSuro 01:38, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes - but to have specific maritime history entries (and that one has the element of clearing the mystery of a long standing issue - which reminds me of some of the issues arising when I was trying to make head or tail or limb of some issues of the monte bello stuff) into the main dyk realm is absoltutely great - well written arts like yours and moondynes can only increase the cred of the project - which I think really boosts the cred of the whole wesst oz things anyway. I have put the shipwreccks guy on notice that usa maritime history appears to not even have an article yet... or not that i am able to find in the weird cateory trees...
