== Misplaced Pages Research Survey Request ==

Hello, I am a member of a research group at (formerly known as Xerox PARC) studying how conflicts occur and resolve on Misplaced Pages. Due to your experience in conflict resolution on Misplaced Pages (e.g., as a member of the ]) we’re extremely interested in your insights on this topic. We have a survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=400792384029 which we are inviting a few selected Wikipedians to participate in, and we would be extremely appreciative if you would take the time to complete it. As a token of our gratitude, we would like to present you with a PARC research star upon completion. Thank you for your time.

:I didn't mean to offend, Ian, I'm simply trying to implement an opt-outable system to communicate between all Advocates without having to post something on every single talk page. Please don't present your personal opinion on the SC issue as official WP policy. As admins, we need to work this stuff out by consensus (and involve foundation members where appropriate). Your was improper, as the account was blocked for impersonation concerns (not retribution). Furthermore, your statement implies that an admin consensus exists on this issue to the effect that SC is not welcome here. That is simply not true. If that account is validated as belonging to him, then it'll be unblocked. If you have any concerns about this, let's bring it to WP:AN. - ]</small> (]) 20:32, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

I have updated the talk page with the comment removed. I reccomend to bring it to the administrator's notice board or bring a foundation member in to make a decision as serious as this. Last time I checked admin's can't speak for an organization, especially not when the decision may end up being seen outside of Misplaced Pages. --] <span style="text-decoration:none">]</span> <span style="position: relative; left: -36px; margin-right: -36px; text-decoration:none;">]</span> 00:43, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

:I hardly think I was misrepresenting Misplaced Pages policy. It to me seems obvious that that account was used as part of a bid to bring mass Vandalism to Misplaced Pages in a very promenent way. I hardly think we need to show users that you ''can'' make public bids for vandalism and get away with it. ] clearly states "Sysops may block IP addresses or usernames that disrupt the normal functioning of Misplaced Pages, or pose any kind of threat to it." I hardly think the actions linked to this case are anything but disruption. I also presonally object to removal of my edit - you are more than welcome to state it is invalid on the page - but removing others comments because you don't agree with them hardly resolves anything. I personally would be surprised if anyone unblocked the account (even if it was verified to be him) purely because of the massive disruption to ]s he caused (and he will have been the one that caused it if it ''was'' him). I can't see how it couldn't be seen as anything else. Nethertheless, I hardly see the point of waring over whether my comments should be removed - but I do ask you don't do it - but instead add a comment and discuss with me first. It may have been misplaced (and quite possibly was) but I think people are disucssing the wrong things. Happy editing! ]] 19:59, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello there. I thought I recognised your name on the "mediation Cabal" page - then I recalled that you've been a witness to "Paris happenings" once before. Almost all (save two transclusions as of the time I am writing this) of the from the userbox due to the <nowiki>{{User UBM UBX to}}</nowiki> template have been bypassed, so the current userbox within my sub page has become the new 'master' box, for lack of a better word.

I guess the most concise question I can ask is; why break the history of the userbox, and why duplicate information? May you have a pleasant day, and happy editing. --]] 21:25, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

:Feel free to forward your 'master' copy to the template space, but I personally don't think that anyone had a right to claim any userbox to their userspace (per GUS or whatever it is now called). I will happily reverse any userboxes out there to their template page, until GUS followers have some basis of authority for doing so (and no, I am not a policy lord; I just don't think that one party should decide what everyone has to do without some form of discussion and community approval). ]] 19:38, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey Ian,

Just wanted to ask you about a wiki page that was deleted about 2 years ago. The page was about an artist from Canada titled "Alisha Pillay". I would love to see this page on Misplaced Pages again. Her debut single "Convicted" hit Canadian radio in January 2010 and she managed to reach #38 on the Canadian Top 40 charts. She won the opportunity to have her song on Canadian radio through a competition called "Radio Active" which was thrown by Pitbull Promotions. The song was received well and managed to win over Sony Music Canada, who continued to market and promote the song. She was also featured as an emerging artist on the Billboard Canadian Update and won the "Chum Emerging Artist" award for April 2010.

She has collaborated with many established writers including: Alisha M'Jestie Brooks (Rihanna, Pon De Replay), James Fauntleroy (Chris Brown, Beyonce, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and many others), Jarvis Church of the Philosopher Kings (Nelly Furtado) and many others. She has also performed with the Canada's most acclaimed producer, David Foster. She was the winner of his first singing competition in BC called "Opportunity of a lifetime"
==Title Paragraph==

She is going to release her second single "Love Drunk" in Canada on July 12, 2010.
Hi, I would like to write up a new article as wikipedia:titleparagraphs. I'd appreciate your assistance. Title paragraphs often called 'opening' paragraphs in the literary world are very important to seize readers’ attention and encourage them to read on. Title paragraphcs need to be written in a surmising style in as few concise but detailed sentences as possible.

Thanks for your time! Would love to see this page back on Wiki with all the new updates!
Notice the difference between ] article and ] one. A remarkable difference. Are you going to read the a whole title paragraph like that for every article you look up? Long title paragraphs deter users who are simply surfing or frantically looking for the low down of a specific subject at handm, they are also a pleasure for the serious researcher.

-- <small><span class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) </span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned -->
Unfortunately this is not a guideline. I think editors should be advised about this point and I would feel privileged to start the article. Please let me know how I could go about it. Thanks
