I'm requesting this as I'm long-time trustworthy editor that doesn't want to lose the right to be able to see the "" link, as I occasionally "manually" patrol new pages in the course of my editing. Let me be clear – I have no intention of becoming a New Page Patrol "regular" (I do sometimes check the ], but not very often...), nor do I intend to use Page Curation. But we shouldn't be removing the ability to "spot-check" new articles from long-time regular editors, esp. those of us who occasionally come across new articles as part of our work for various WikiProjects (e.g. I sometimes come across new articles as part of ] or ] or even ] editing...). I have refrained from requesting new page patroller rights, but now I believe it is time for me to request the rights. I usually deal with CSD, mostly U5 and G11, and most of my requests for CSD have been valid, though sometimes I am a bit bitey towards newcomers. I've looking at a lot of the various "behind-the-scenes" conversations many users are having regarding the high rate of article creation. I have recently published several articles that have been stuck in the purgatory of being unreviewed. While I know I can't do much about those, I would love to help others avoid that bothersome uncertainty of whether their article will be accepted. Misplaced Pages is a wonderful resource and if there's a way to expand it while avoiding adding those articles created for malicious and commercial purposes, I'm here to help. I was guided here by the notification about the January NPP contest, but honestly this looks right up my alley anyway. I've been an editor for quite a few years, largely doing gnome work and maintaining DAB pages, but in the past few years I've done a lot of Recent Changes patrolling, specifically filtering for newcomer edits, so this seems like a natural progression from there. I'd like to think that in my patrolling I'm very welcoming with the newbies, always keeping users that I've welcomed or warned on my watchlist for awhile to see if they ask for help. I know how to use tact when breaking bad news and am quite familiar with having ''that'' conversation with COI users who think they're making their own social media or corporate promotions page. I was guided here by the notification about the January NPP contest, but honestly this looks right up my alley anyway. I've been an editor for quite a few years, largely doing gnome work and maintaining DAB pages, but in the past few years I've done a lot of Recent Changes patrolling, specifically filtering for newcomer edits, so this seems like a natural progression from there. I'd like to think that in my patrolling I'm very welcoming with the newbies, always keeping users that I've welcomed or warned on my watchlist for awhile to see if they ask for help. I know how to use tact when breaking bad news and am quite familiar with having that conversation with COI users who think they're making their own social media or corporate promotions page. Sure @Vanderwaalforces, at first I thought I have well idea about reviewing pages through AFC. So I just want to explore page curation tool as a part of trial request (I phrased it as "test") to see if I can be adjusted there as well.
