This WikiProject banner template uses Module:WikiProject banner, a meta-template for easily creating and maintaining project banners. Please report any errors or feature requests to Module talk:WikiProject banner. Information or warnings about the template are below:
  • The 32 task forces and/or work groups will automatically collapse if more than 5 of them are displayed. To change this setting, set or update the |TF_COLLAPSE= parameter.
  • The 5 notes in this template will automatically collapse if more than 2 of them are activated. To change this setting, set or update the |COLLAPSED= parameter.
  • This banner template includes a link to Portal:Film, and the accompanying image is File:Video-x-generic.svg. See the instructions on how to change this.
  • Automatic parameter checking is enabled and pages with invalid parameters can be found in the tracking category.
  • There are too many task forces to check the assessment categories for each one, so the following selection have been checked: 2, 4, 9, 11, 12, 19, 24, 28, 31, 33.

The {{WikiProject Film}} project banner template should be added (never subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner.

Basic usage

This section is transcluded from Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Film/Assessment/Summary. (edit | history)

An article's quality assessment is generated from the class parameter in the {{WikiProject Banner Shell}}. Articles that have the {{WikiProject Film}} project banner on their talk page will be added to the appropriate categories by quality.

The following values may be used for the class parameter to describe the quality of the article (see Misplaced Pages:Content assessment for assessment criteria):

FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class film articles)  FA
A (adds articles to Category:A-Class film articles)  A

B (adds articles to Category:B-Class film articles) B

Stub (adds articles to Category:Stub-Class film articles) Stub
FL (for featured lists only; adds articles to Category:FL-Class film articles)  FL
List (adds articles to Category:List-Class film articles) List

For non-standard grades and non-mainspace content, the following values may be used for the class parameter:

Category (for categories; adds pages to Category:Category-Class film pages) Category
Disambig (for disambiguation pages; adds pages to Category:Disambig-Class film pages) Disambig
Draft (for drafts; adds pages to Category:Draft-Class film pages) Draft
FM (for featured media only; adds pages to Category:FM-Class film pages)  FM
File (for files and timed text; adds pages to Category:File-Class film pages) File

NA (for any other pages where assessment is unnecessary; adds pages to Category:NA-Class film pages) NA
??? (articles for which a valid class has not yet been provided are listed in Category:Unassessed film articles) ???

Optional parameters

General

  • listas – a sortkey to produce a correct ordering of pages within a category, e.g. for The Fifth Element set |listas=Fifth Element, The
  • needs-image - set |needs-image=yes if the article needs an image, such as a poster or on-set photo
  • needs-infobox – set |needs-infobox=yes if the article needs an infobox, e.g. {{Infobox film}}

National and Regional task forces

General task forces

Genre task forces

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
