Tornaľa (Template:Lang-sk from 1948-1990; Template:Lang-hu) is a town and municipality in Revúca District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. As of 2004, it has a population of 8,016.
History
The first written record about Tornaľa was in 1245.
Geography
The town is located in the historical Gemer region. It lies on the Sajó (Slovak: Slaná) river.
