Xylology (/zaɪˈlɒlədʒi/) is a branch of dendrochronology focused on the gross and minute structure of wood.

Etymology

The word xylology is composed of 'xylo-' (coming from the Greek word 'xylon', meaning 'wood'), and '-logy', meaning 'the study of' or 'the science of'.
