Area of Ayrshire & Arran

Ayrshire and Arran is a Lieutenancy area of Scotland. It consists of the former (1975-1996) local government districts of Kilmarnock and Loudoun, Cumnock and Doon Valley, Cunninghame and Kyle and Carrick, which is to say, the modern unitary areas of East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire and South Ayrshire.

The area has joint electoral, valuation and health boards. For electoral and valuation purposes, the area is simply called Ayrshire.
