Jürgen Melzer (born May 22, 1981) is a male Austriantennis player. He reached a career high ranking of #33 in the world on January 10, 2005, and a doubles ranking of #25 on May 15, 2006. Melzer plays left-handed and is 6'0" tall. In 1999, he won the boy's singles event at Wimbledon. On Sunday July 16, he won the doubles title at the 2006 Campbell's Hall of Fame Tenis Championships in Newport, Rhode Island, with his American playing partner Robert Kendrick. In the final, the duo beat South AfricanJeff Coetzee and the unfortunate American Justin Gimelstob, who also lost the singles final on the same day. Melzer won the final of the ATP tournament in Bucharest beating Filippo Volandri in the final (6-1, 7-5).
