Anderson was born in ], ], 90 km northwest of ], ], of partly ] ancestry (her paternal grandfather, Hermanni Hyytiäinen, from ], left Finland in 1908). The newborn Anderson won fame as the nation's "Centennial Baby", as she was thought, incorrectly, to have been the first baby born on Canada's ] (she was born at 4:08 in the morning). She studied law at the London School of Economics and graduated with a First Class degree. She later came at the top of her year in the bar exams, while teaching law at the University of Westminster. In 1976, while she was studying to become a barrister, she met Tony Blair. She obtained a pupillage in the chambers of Derry Irvine ahead of him, although he was also taken on. Married on 29 March 1980, they have four children: Euan, Nicky, Kathryn and Leo.
In 1985, Anderson graduated from ]. In her ] yearbook, she wrote that she wanted to be a ] beach bum. In 1988, she moved to ], where she first experienced city life and worked as a ]. During the summer of 1989, Anderson and her friends went to a ] game; at some point during the game Anderson was shown on the stadium screen. The crowd at the game cheered for the young Anderson who was then 21. Anderson was taken to the field to get an ovation from the crowd. During the game, Anderson wore a ] t-shirt. The beer company offered Anderson a modeling contract and she accepted: soon she was on posters in every bar in ]. In late 1989, Pamela decided to model for '']'' magazine: she appeared on the October 1989 cover (credited as Pamela Anderson Ilicic) and decided to move to ] to continue her modeling career.

Booth unsuccessfully contested the seat of North Thanet in Kent at the 1983 UK general election, losing to Roger Gale, while her husband was selected at the last minute for a safe seat in Sedgefield in County Durham in the same election.
After her move to ], Anderson bleached her brunette hair blonde and got breast implants. In 1991 she landed a minor role on the ]'s hit television ], '']'' (1991-1997). Having gained viewer attention, she landed the role of C.J. Parker (1992-1997) on '']''. Later, she quit ''Home Improvement''. Anderson was still modeling for ''Outdoor Life'' and appearing on the cover of the magazine each year. Her role as C.J. Parker gave her more popularity and and gained her attention from international viewers. She returned to '']'' for the 2003 reunion movie, '']''. She also made appearances on '']'' as Fran's rival, ].

Legal career | |||
A member of Lincoln's Inn, she became a barrister in 1976 and Queen's Counsel in 1995. In 1999, she was appointed a Recorder (a permanent part-time judge) in the County Court and Crown Court. She was Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University from 1999-2006, and on 26 July 2006 was awarded the honorary title of Emeritus Chancellor. She is also Governor of the London School of Economics and the Open University. She is a founding member of Matrix Chambers in London from which she continues to practise as a barrister. Matrix was formed in 2000 specialising in human rights law, though members also practise in a range of areas of UK public and private law, the law of the European Union and European Convention on Human Rights, and public international law
In 1996, she appeared in a feature film, '']'', as a character known as Barbara Rose Kopetski, which was mistakenly thought by some to have been her real name. The movie failed to achieve commercial success. During the filming of ''Barb Wire'', Anderson suffered a ]. In April 1997, she guest-hosted ''].'' During the beginning of the show, Anderson said, "You know, if you're nervous on stage, you actually should be naked!" She then began a striptease. Her breasts, however, were covered by a small flesh-colored bra and a crotch patch that was also flesh colored (though they were still blurred out for the sake of the joke). The segment became fodder for late-night comedians for the following weeks. She also appeared on one of two covers for the September issue of ''Playboy''; the other cover pictured ].
She specializes in employment, discrimination and public law and in this capacity has occasionally represented claimants taking cases against the UK government.
In September 1998, Anderson starred in her produced series '']'' It was very poorly received and a critical bomb. However, with many people tuning in just to see Pamela Anderson, the show lasted four seasons before being cancelled in 2002. Anderson stated that she needed to dedicate her time to raising her children, but many believed that she was retiring.
Cherie Blair has appeared in a number of leading cases. A notable example before the European Court of Justice was concerned with discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. See, ECJ Case C-249/96, Lisa Jacqueline Grant vs. South-West Trains Ltd
In March 2001, ] was arrested while sleeping in a guest room of Anderson's home. She was only charged with the ] of ]ing and not the more serious crime of ]. Roth pleaded guilty to the charge of trespassing and was deported to her home country, France.
In 2004, Anderson returned to the spotlight. In May she appeared naked on the cover of '']'' magazine. It was the first time she had appeared naked on any magazine cover. Later, she posed naked for '']'' and '']'' magazines. Many noticed that her breast size was larger than her pictorials from 2003.
Controversies | |||
Cherie Blair has, over several years, found herself causing controversy which damaged not only her reputation but that of her husband the Prime Minister and the Labour Party. In this way, Cherie Blair has been compared to former U.S. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and former U.S. First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Anderson became a ] of the ] on ], ], while retaining her Canadian citizenship, for the purpose of sponsoring her parents (or at least her mother) for a ]. She has lived in southern ] since 1989.
In 2002, Blair hit the newspaper headlines in the scandal referred to as "Cheriegate" because of her involvement with Peter Foster, a convicted Australian conman, who assisted her with the purchase of two flats in Bristol. Blair tried to distance herself from Foster and briefed the press office at Number 10 to go public with a statement claiming that Foster was not involved with the deal. She was caught out when Foster provided evidence that she had lied. She went public herself, tearfully reading a prepared statement blaming her "misfortune" on the pressures of running a family and being a mother. She tried to distance herself from Foster, but it was later revealed that she and Tony Blair had agreed to be godparents to the yet-to-be born child of Foster and his partner Carole Caplin (Caplin later miscarried).
Anderson has often spoken revealingly about her private life. On a visit to the ] show in 2004, she said she had not been dating for some time, and when Letterman asked her how she was coping, she responded, "There's not a square corner left anywhere in my house!" Letterman left that comment unanswered while the audience hooted.
Her relationship with Peter Foster's then-partner, the so-called "style guru" and former model Carole Caplin, has given rise to headlines in some newspapers. Caplin is credited with introducing Blair to various New Age symbols and beliefs, including "magic pendants" known as "BioElectric Shields". The most controversial of Blair's New Age practices occurred when on holiday in Mexico. She and her husband, wearing only bathing costumes, took part in a rebirthing procedure that involved smearing mud and fruit over each others' bodies while sitting in a steam bath. It is claimed her fourth pregnancy at 45 came after she submitted to New Age sexual techniques.
In 2004, Pamela Anderson released the book ''Star'', co-written by author Eric Shaw Quinn, in which she describes a young ] doing different things in order to reach fame. After this, she began touring the United States, signing ]s for fans at ] stores nationwide. Her second book, the sequel ''Star Struck'', released in 2005, is a thinly veiled look at her life with ] and the travails of ] life.
Later in 2002, she apologised after saying, in reference to the Palestinian suicide bombers, "As long as young people feel they have no hope but to blow themselves up, we're never going to make progress, are we?", within hours of a blast in Jerusalem that killed at least 19 people.
In January 2005, Anderson confessed that she had got new breast implants, claiming not to feel like herself without them. Anderson also claimed that the new breast implants were bigger than her old implants.
In 2003, after being invited to a Melbourne shopping centre and told to take a few items for free, she took 68 items. She subsequently paid £2,000 for the goods.
In April 2005, Anderson starred in a new ] ] '']'' as Skyler Dayton, a party girl (with implants) who goes to work at a bookstore. '']'' was cancelled on ], ], after two seasons, although some episodes had not been aired on the network. She made a statement in late 2005 saying "I am the greatest slut...", confirming her openness about ] and her opinions in free sex. During the summer of 2005, (], ]) ] created the '']'' to honor the sex symbol for the past decade. During her final speech at the Roast, Pamela referred to her breasts as "Pancho and Lefty".
In 2005, while her husband was visiting President of the United States George Bush officially, she gave a private speech in Washington's Kennedy Centre where she was paid £30,000 for her appearance. She was criticised for leveraging government resources, Britain's ambassador and her husband's transport means to run private business.
In December 2005, ] cut off a video of Anderson pole dancing topless on ]'s The Red Piano. ] said that the footage was inappropriate for primetime. The video was shown on huge screens during the event, while John was playing a song. Anderson was topless, but stars were painted on her breasts. In March 2006, it was announced that Anderson would receive a star on ] thanks to her many years as a model and actress. She is only the second model to receive a star. In April 2006, Anderson hosted Canada's ], becoming the first non-singer and model to do so.
In 2005, during a charity speaking tour of Australia, she was paid a £102,000 fee for after-dinner speaking, although the £82-a-head dinner raised £81,270, according to Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV). £6,690, or 8%, of the total funds raised went towards cancer research.
Anderson is repeatedly referred to in the film '']''; in fact, she is the reason for Borat's trip across the United States. Anderson makes a cameo appearance towards the end of the film at an autograph signing event. After this, she began filming a comedy, '']''.
Blair acted the case of Shabina Begum, a student at the mainly-Muslim Denbigh High School in Luton, who was refused permission to wear full head-to-toe jilbab, when the school uniform code only permitted students to wear the salwar kameez. For her client Blair claimed that it was about prejudice, however she was criticised for her involvement in the case when Begum was being supported by the controversial Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir, of which the girl's brother Shuweb Rahman was a member. But this criticism ignores the cab rank rule under which any English barrister is in general required to act for any client, if asked to do so.
==Personal life== | |||
Also in 2005, concern was highlighted by The Times, when Blair agreed to defend a UK couple, the Orams, who had been accused of illegally building a villa in the internationally unrecognised Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. President Tassos Papadopoulos of Cyprus referred to Blair's decision to represent the Orams as "a provocative action".
In addition to her fame from modeling and acting, Anderson has gotten a great deal of press attention for her well-publicized personal life. Her relationships have made headlines in gossip magazines for years. She married ], drummer of ], on ], ] after knowing him for only 96 hours and the couple eventually had two sons, Brandon and Dylan. During this time, she was known professionally as '''Pamela Anderson Lee'''. Anderson filed for divorce from him twice and reconciled with him twice, before the couple finally broke up for good. In March 2002, Anderson publicly stated that she had contracted the ] virus from Lee (supposedly from sharing ] needles), and began writing a regular column for '']'' magazine. In October 2003, Anderson jokingly said on ]'s radio show that she does not expect to live more than ten or fifteen years,<ref>{{cite web|url=http://web.archive.org/web/20041029141238/www.pamelaanderson.com/news/news.asp?item=2056|title=web.archive.org/web/20041029141238/www.pamelaanderson.com/news/news.asp?item=2056<!--INSERT TITLE-->|accessdate=2007-02-26}}</ref> but this was misconstrued and taken seriously by many Web sites and tabloids. A ] ] of Anderson and Tommy Lee was stolen from their home, and made a huge stir on the ]. Anderson sued the company, the ], that was distributing the video. Ultimately the courts awarded Anderson and Lee ]1.5 million plus attorney fees for their share of the profits.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.seattleweekly.com/features/0226/nc-anderson.shtml|title=Seattle weekly|accessdate=2007-02-26}}</ref>
In winter 2005/6 she was allegedly involved in the re-allocation of British Army armoured vehicles on OP TELIC in Iraq, after a close friend complained that her husband was forced to patrol in a soft-skinned Landrover.
A second tape, which was made before the Tommy Lee tape, involving Anderson and musician ] from ] was later distributed on the Internet. Frames of the video first appeared in ] magazine in March 1998. The popularity and profitability of the Anderson and Tommy Lee video sparked a miniature genre within the porn film industry and since then many homemade porn videos of celebrities have been released to the public through home video and Web channels (either with or without the participants' co-operation).
In 2006, the Labour Party paid a £7,700 bill for her personal hair stylist, Andre Suard, during the 2005 General Election campaign, a sum of £275 per day for the month leading up to the election. This angered some in the party, including former minister Peter Kilfoyle, who claimed the bill was twice what he had spent on his election campaign in the Liverpool Walton seat.
Since her divorce, she has become engaged to both the model ] and the singer ] (Robert J. Ritchie). She broke up with Schenkenberg in 2001, and broke up with Kid Rock in 2003. It was announced on ], ] that she would marry Kid Rock on ], ] on a yacht near St. Tropez, France. "Feels like I've been stuck in a time warp," said Anderson in her ] entry. "Not able to let go of MY family picture ... it's been sad and lonely and frustrating ... I've raised my kids alone in hope of a miracle. Well my miracle came and went. And came back and back because he knew that I'd wake up one day and realize that I was waiting for nothing." "I'm moving on," she declared. "I feel like I'm finally free ... I'm in love." There was extensive unconfirmed media speculation that the marriage is pregnancy-related, but the theory was based only on Anderson's representatives refusal to comment on the question.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.pattayadailynews.com/shownews.php?IDNEWS=0000000731|title=Pattayadailynews.com|accessdate=2007-02-26}}</ref>
In 2006, Blair was granted an audience with the Pope. The Vatican convention is that females meeting the Pontiff should wear black, preferably with a black veil, or mantilla. By contrast, Blair chose to exercise the "white privilege", granted only to the wives of Catholic monarchs. Currently, these are Queen Sofía of Spain, Queen Paola of Belgium, Grand Duchess Maria of Luxembourg and Marie, Princess of Liechtenstein.
She put her ], home up for sale in order to move to a more private location. In an interview with Gavriel Maynard, Anderson stated "I don't know why people consider me stupid, I'm actually really smart."
Blair is also thought to harbour contempt for the Royal Family. She pointedly refuses to curtsey when presented to the Queen, a behaviour said to amuse the Queen in private. Blair is also said to have called Princess Diana an "airhead," and referred to Princess Anne as a "bitch."
On ], ], it was announced that Anderson ] while in ] shooting a new film, '']'' . Seventeen days later, on ], ] Anderson filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court from ], citing irreconcilable differences.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.accesshollywood.com/news/ah2832.shtml|title=Access Hollywood|accessdate=2007-02-26}}</ref> Some news reports have suggested that Kid Rock's outrage during a screening of '']'', in which she plays a cameo role, led to the filing for divorce two weeks later.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.spin.com/features/news/2006/11/061128_pamkidrock/|title=Spin.com|accessdate=2007-02-26}}</ref>
In May 2006, Blair was involved in the signing of copies of the Hutton Report to raise funds for the Labour Party. The Hutton Report was a controversial report by Lord Hutton into the death of Dr David Kelly, and whether the government had lied over the claims to Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. £400 was raised. Both she and her husband have refused to apologise.

In September 2006, it was reported that Blair had been investigated by the police over an incident at a school sports day where she, it was claimed, slapped a 17 year old boy who had asked to have his picture taken with her and then gestured behind her back. On investigation it was determined that she did not hit the boy and it was quickly announced that no further police action was planned.
Anderson is a ], an advocate for animal rights, and an active member of the animal protection organization ] (PETA), taking part in several campaigns for animal rights. In 2003, Anderson stripped down for PETA's "I had Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" advertising campaign. On ], ], Anderson posed naked with other protesters on a window display of the ] boutique in ], ]. It was a ] gala event before the ] Humanitarian Awards. Anderson went inside the boutique and said she would take her clothes off if the event raised enough money for ], which it did. She took off her clothes and went to stand on a pedestal at the window display. Anderson covered her breasts. They wore a banner that read: "We had rather bare skin than wear skin." The event sparked a media frenzy in London.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.thesuperficial.com/2006/06/29/pamela_anderson_bares_skin.html#comment-81245|title=The Superficial|accessdate=2007-02-26}}</ref>
Later in September 2006, in the febrile atmosphere surrounding the Labour Party conference in the leadership speculation following her husband's planned departure, she was allegedly heard by a Bloomberg journalist to comment on Gordon Brown's speech as a collection of "lies". She has denied this.
She has also actively campaigned against ]. In 2001, Anderson released a letter in support of PETA's campaign against Kentucky Fried Chicken, stating "What KFC does to 750 million chickens each year is not civilized or acceptable." She later made a video about KFC's treatment of chickens.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.KentuckyFriedCruelty.com|title=Kentuckey Fried Cruelty|accessdate=2007-02-26}}</ref> In January 2006, Anderson requested that the Governor of Kentucky remove a bust of ], the founder of KFC, from display but her request was refused even when she offered her own bust in exchange. She has also campaigned against seal hunting in her native Canada. In March 2006, Anderson asked to speak to ] ] about the ]. Her request was refused. In May 2006 she ]ed random individuals on the street for their opinion on the Canadian Seal Hunt.

Pamela Denise Anderson (born July 1, 1967) is a Canadian-American actress, sex symbol, glamour model, producer, TV personality, and author. For a time, she was known as Pamela Anderson Lee having married a rock musician, Tommy Lee. Anderson is popularly known for modeling and television acting in the 1990s and for her large breast implants. Anderson has been called the sex symbol of the '90s. She holds dual citizenship as both a Canadian and an American.
Early life
Anderson was born in Ladysmith, British Columbia, 90 km northwest of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, of partly Finnish ancestry (her paternal grandfather, Hermanni Hyytiäinen, from Saarijärvi, left Finland in 1908). The newborn Anderson won fame as the nation's "Centennial Baby", as she was thought, incorrectly, to have been the first baby born on Canada's Centennial Day (she was born at 4:08 in the morning). However, the Campbell River Upper Islander of July 5, 1967 reported a baby born two hours earlier on the same Canada Day. After her birth, her parents, Barry and Carol Anderson, moved to the town of Comox with Pamela.
Career
In 1985, Anderson graduated from Highland Secondary School. In her high school yearbook, she wrote that she wanted to be a California beach bum. In 1988, she moved to Vancouver, where she first experienced city life and worked as a fitness instructor. During the summer of 1989, Anderson and her friends went to a Canadian football game; at some point during the game Anderson was shown on the stadium screen. The crowd at the game cheered for the young Anderson who was then 21. Anderson was taken to the field to get an ovation from the crowd. During the game, Anderson wore a Labatt's t-shirt. The beer company offered Anderson a modeling contract and she accepted: soon she was on posters in every bar in Canada. In late 1989, Pamela decided to model for Playboy magazine: she appeared on the October 1989 cover (credited as Pamela Anderson Ilicic) and decided to move to Los Angeles to continue her modeling career.
Acting and modeling
After her move to Los Angeles, Anderson bleached her brunette hair blonde and got breast implants. In 1991 she landed a minor role on the United States's hit television sitcom, Home Improvement (1991-1997). Having gained viewer attention, she landed the role of C.J. Parker (1992-1997) on Baywatch. Later, she quit Home Improvement. Anderson was still modeling for Outdoor Life and appearing on the cover of the magazine each year. Her role as C.J. Parker gave her more popularity and and gained her attention from international viewers. She returned to Baywatch for the 2003 reunion movie, Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding. She also made appearances on The Nanny as Fran's rival, Heather Biblow.
In 1996, she appeared in a feature film, Barb Wire, as a character known as Barbara Rose Kopetski, which was mistakenly thought by some to have been her real name. The movie failed to achieve commercial success. During the filming of Barb Wire, Anderson suffered a miscarriage. In April 1997, she guest-hosted Saturday Night Live. During the beginning of the show, Anderson said, "You know, if you're nervous on stage, you actually should be naked!" She then began a striptease. Her breasts, however, were covered by a small flesh-colored bra and a crotch patch that was also flesh colored (though they were still blurred out for the sake of the joke). The segment became fodder for late-night comedians for the following weeks. She also appeared on one of two covers for the September issue of Playboy; the other cover pictured Jenny McCarthy.
In September 1998, Anderson starred in her produced series V.I.P. It was very poorly received and a critical bomb. However, with many people tuning in just to see Pamela Anderson, the show lasted four seasons before being cancelled in 2002. Anderson stated that she needed to dedicate her time to raising her children, but many believed that she was retiring.
In March 2001, Christine Evelyn Roth was arrested while sleeping in a guest room of Anderson's home. She was only charged with the misdemeanor of trespassing and not the more serious crime of stalking. Roth pleaded guilty to the charge of trespassing and was deported to her home country, France.
In 2004, Anderson returned to the spotlight. In May she appeared naked on the cover of Playboy magazine. It was the first time she had appeared naked on any magazine cover. Later, she posed naked for Stuff and GQ magazines. Many noticed that her breast size was larger than her pictorials from 2003.
Anderson became a naturalized citizen of the United States on May 12, 2004, while retaining her Canadian citizenship, for the purpose of sponsoring her parents (or at least her mother) for a green card. She has lived in southern California since 1989.
Anderson has often spoken revealingly about her private life. On a visit to the David Letterman show in 2004, she said she had not been dating for some time, and when Letterman asked her how she was coping, she responded, "There's not a square corner left anywhere in my house!" Letterman left that comment unanswered while the audience hooted.
In 2004, Pamela Anderson released the book Star, co-written by author Eric Shaw Quinn, in which she describes a young teenager doing different things in order to reach fame. After this, she began touring the United States, signing autographs for fans at Wal-Mart stores nationwide. Her second book, the sequel Star Struck, released in 2005, is a thinly veiled look at her life with Tommy Lee and the travails of celebrity life.
In January 2005, Anderson confessed that she had got new breast implants, claiming not to feel like herself without them. Anderson also claimed that the new breast implants were bigger than her old implants.
In April 2005, Anderson starred in a new FOX sitcom Stacked as Skyler Dayton, a party girl (with implants) who goes to work at a bookstore. Stacked was cancelled on May 18, 2006, after two seasons, although some episodes had not been aired on the network. She made a statement in late 2005 saying "I am the greatest slut...", confirming her openness about sex and her opinions in free sex. During the summer of 2005, (August 14, 2005) Comedy Central created the Roast of Pamela Anderson to honor the sex symbol for the past decade. During her final speech at the Roast, Pamela referred to her breasts as "Pancho and Lefty".
In December 2005, NBC cut off a video of Anderson pole dancing topless on Elton John's The Red Piano. NBC said that the footage was inappropriate for primetime. The video was shown on huge screens during the event, while John was playing a song. Anderson was topless, but stars were painted on her breasts. In March 2006, it was announced that Anderson would receive a star on Canada's Walk of Fame thanks to her many years as a model and actress. She is only the second model to receive a star. In April 2006, Anderson hosted Canada's Juno Awards, becoming the first non-singer and model to do so.
Anderson is repeatedly referred to in the film Borat; in fact, she is the reason for Borat's trip across the United States. Anderson makes a cameo appearance towards the end of the film at an autograph signing event. After this, she began filming a comedy, Blonde and Blonder.
Personal life
In addition to her fame from modeling and acting, Anderson has gotten a great deal of press attention for her well-publicized personal life. Her relationships have made headlines in gossip magazines for years. She married Tommy Lee, drummer of Mötley Crüe, on February 19, 1995 after knowing him for only 96 hours and the couple eventually had two sons, Brandon and Dylan. During this time, she was known professionally as Pamela Anderson Lee. Anderson filed for divorce from him twice and reconciled with him twice, before the couple finally broke up for good. In March 2002, Anderson publicly stated that she had contracted the Hepatitis C virus from Lee (supposedly from sharing tattoo needles), and began writing a regular column for Jane magazine. In October 2003, Anderson jokingly said on Howard Stern's radio show that she does not expect to live more than ten or fifteen years, but this was misconstrued and taken seriously by many Web sites and tabloids. Tommy Lee denies having the disease. Today, Anderson and Lee are just friends. She however admitted to newspapers still having often sex with him since their divorce.
A pornographic home video of Anderson and Tommy Lee was stolen from their home, and made a huge stir on the Internet. Anderson sued the company, the Internet Entertainment Group, that was distributing the video. Ultimately the courts awarded Anderson and Lee $1.5 million plus attorney fees for their share of the profits.
A second tape, which was made before the Tommy Lee tape, involving Anderson and musician Bret Michaels from Poison was later distributed on the Internet. Frames of the video first appeared in Penthouse magazine in March 1998. The popularity and profitability of the Anderson and Tommy Lee video sparked a miniature genre within the porn film industry and since then many homemade porn videos of celebrities have been released to the public through home video and Web channels (either with or without the participants' co-operation).
Since her divorce, she has become engaged to both the model Marcus Schenkenberg and the singer Kid Rock (Robert J. Ritchie). She broke up with Schenkenberg in 2001, and broke up with Kid Rock in 2003. It was announced on July 18, 2006 that she would marry Kid Rock on July 29, 2006 on a yacht near St. Tropez, France. "Feels like I've been stuck in a time warp," said Anderson in her blog entry. I'm in love." There was extensive unconfirmed media speculation that the marriage is pregnancy-related, but the theory was based only on Anderson's representatives refusal to comment on the question.
She put her Malibu, California, home up for sale in order to move to a more private location. In an interview with Gavriel Maynard, Anderson stated "I don't know why people consider me stupid, I'm actually really smart."
On November 10, 2006, it was announced that Anderson miscarried while in Vancouver shooting a new film, Blonde and Blonder . Seventeen days later, on November 27, 2006 Anderson filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court from Kid Rock, citing irreconcilable differences. Some news reports have suggested that Kid Rock's outrage during a screening of Borat, in which she plays a cameo role, led to the filing for divorce two weeks later.
Charitable work and activism
Anderson is a vegetarian, an advocate for animal rights, and an active member of the animal protection organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), taking part in several campaigns for animal rights. She became a vegetarian in her early teens when she walked in on her dad slaughtering an animal he had just hunted.
One of Anderson's campaigns as a member of PETA has been against the use of fur. In 1999, Anderson received the first Linda McCartney Memorial Award for animal rights protectors, in recognition of her campaign against fur. In 2003, Anderson stripped down for PETA's "I had Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" advertising campaign. On June 28, 2006, Anderson posed naked with other protesters on a window display of the Stella McCartney boutique in London, England. It was a PETA gala event before the PETA Humanitarian Awards. Anderson went inside the boutique and said she would take her clothes off if the event raised enough money for PETA, which it did. She took off her clothes and went to stand on a pedestal at the window display. Anderson covered her breasts. They wore a banner that read: "We had rather bare skin than wear skin." The event sparked a media frenzy in London.
She has also actively campaigned against Kentucky Fried Chicken. In 2001, Anderson released a letter in support of PETA's campaign against Kentucky Fried Chicken, stating "What KFC does to 750 million chickens each year is not civilized or acceptable." She later made a video about KFC's treatment of chickens. In January 2006, Anderson requested that the Governor of Kentucky remove a bust of Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC, from display but her request was refused even when she offered her own bust in exchange. In February 2006, Anderson decided to boycott the Kentucky Derby because of its support for Kentucky Fried Chicken.
She has also campaigned against seal hunting in her native Canada. In March 2006, Anderson asked to speak to Prime Minister Stephen Harper about the annual seal hunt. Her request was refused. In May 2006 she petitioned random individuals on the street for their opinion on the Canadian Seal Hunt.
Most recently Pam has joined forces with PETA in a campaign calling for the boycott of fruit juice maker POM. The "Pom Horrible Campaign" has resulted in response to the company's refusal to halt animal tests.
In March 2005, Anderson became a spokesmodel for MAC Cosmetics's MAC AIDS Fund, which helped people affected by AIDS and HIV. After becoming the official spokesmodel, Anderson raised money during events in Toronto, Tokyo, Dublin and Athens.
Anderson became the celebrity spokesperson for the American Liver Foundation, and served as the Grand Marshal of the SOS motorcycle ride fundraiser.
