Tharwa Primary School is located in the small village of Tharwa, Australian Capital Territory. It was built in 1898 and opened in 1899. A more detailed history can be found on the official school website . The school currently has two classrooms for the primary school, plus a pre-school room. The annual Tharwa Fair, hosted by the school, is held in May.
In the 2006-07 Australian Capital Territory budget, the closure of the Tharwa Preschool and the Tharwa Primary School was announced.
