Rollerball is... well... let's say you wanted to make a movie about extreme sports... but they didn't exist at your point in time, so you decided to make one up that involves skating around in circles of plastic with a basketball type thing which you had to slam into a hoop at the end of the track while the other team tries to kill you. Got that? Ok now do a remake of it in modern day with hip rock music, evil villians, lots of action, boobies everywhere and an entire scene filmed in nightvision for no good reason. That would more or less be Rollerball.

How do I know this? Many years ago, my friends and I were at the movie theatre and someone handed us free passes to a special screening. they would't tell us what movie it was or anything about it, but we matched the demographic that they wanted to have the movie appeal to, so in exchange for writing down a few of our thoughts about ut, they'd let us see a pre-release screening that wouldn't be completely finished yet. It was in this form that we watched Rollerball. OH MY GOD. It was so bad that it was halariously good. I couldn't wait for it to come out for real to see what they had changed to actually make it good. A year and a half went by... at least. Finally it came out, and left the theatres before I had even realized it. lol. It was in and out so long, I don't think it was even out long enough to damage the careers of the actors who were in it. That's ok though, I bought a used DVD copy of it a year or two later for 3 bucks. Wanna know what they changed? Wanna know? I'll tell you... NOTHING!!! They didn't even do anything cool to that horrible night vision scene. lol!!

If you are ever looking for a rediculously bad movie about a blood-sport with lots of boobs helter-skelter then rollerball is your movie.

Rollerball was a 2002 remake of the 1975 science fiction film also titled Rollerball. Unconsciously embodying two themes of the original Rollerball, an updated 'remake' of the film was released, directed by John McTiernan with a much greater concentration on action and more muted social and political overtones.
