] or High Born Sudra, also known as Pure Sudra, is a caste classification found in ] texts and mentioned in several ] records.
Sat-sudra is a classification used to describe ] groups who are originally born ], ], or ] but do not follow their Vedic rites, hence becoming sudras in ritual rank.<ref name=":0">{{Cite book |last=BHAGWAN |first=SWAMINARAYAN |url=https://books.google.co.in/books?id=WVJ1DwAAQBAJ&pg=PA26&dq=sat+shudra&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&source=gb_mobile_search&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwipgd2C4cmGAxW7TGwGHTA1BBgQ6AF6BAgNEAM#v=onepage&q=sat%20shudra&f=false |title=SHIKSHAPATRI: Sanskrit - Hindi - English |date=2018-10-30 |publisher=purnavallabhswamiji@gmail.com |isbn=978-81-939354-3-9 |language=en}}</ref><ref>{{Cite book |last=Murmu |first=Maroona |url=https://books.google.co.in/books?id=GsrhDwAAQBAJ&pg=PT34&dq=sat+shudra&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&source=gb_mobile_search&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwipgd2C4cmGAxW7TGwGHTA1BBgQ6AF6BAgGEAM#v=onepage&q=sat%20shudra&f=false |title=Words of Her Own: Women Authors in Nineteenth-Century Bengal |date=2019-11-05 |publisher=Oxford University Press |isbn=978-0-19-909821-7 |language=en}}</ref>
According to the sacred Hindu text ] verse 13.2: "''Janmanā jāyate śūdraḥ''," meaning everyone is born śūdra by birth. That by birth, one becomes a brāhmaṇa; otherwise, the śāstra would not have stated like this, that "Janmanā jāyate śūdraḥ," meaning "By birth, everyone is śūdra."
This implies that everyone is born as a Sudra, and those who practice ] rituals become Brahmins.
Sat-Sudras, placed after Brahmins<ref name=":0" />, were considered forward caste, were treated different from Sudras or asat-Sudras (the working class). |
