"Woman's World" is a song by American singer Katy Perry. It is set to be released on July 11, 2024, as the lead single from her upcoming seventh studio album. Perry co-wrote the song with Chloe Angelides and its producers Aaron Joseph, Dr. Luke, Rocco Did It Again!, and Vaughn Oliver.

Background and release

Perry performing "When I'm Gone" at her concert residency Play

Perry collaborated with Swedish producer Alesso releasing "When I'm Gone" in December 2021, same month where she began hosting a concert residency named Play at the Resorts World Las Vegas for three years straight and received positive critical acclaim. Afterwards in February 2024, she made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where she announced her exit from the judges' panel for American Idol following the conclusion of the twenty-second season in May, wanting to "go out and feel that pulse to my own beat" and release new music after being "in the studio for a while".

Perry posted a fifteen-second teaser of her lip-syncing the song throughout social media on June 17. The artist also revealed the cover artwork featuring herself in a metallic "alien-like" pants designed by Victor Clavelly with a white bikini top, photographed by Jack Brigdland. The same day, she announced that the song would be released on July 11 and made it available for pre-order and pre-save via her website and various streaming services, with a music video premiering the next day. A week later, Perry arrived at the Hôtel Ritz Paris from a black limo prior for Paris Fashion Week while wearing a red Balenciaga custom dress featuring two trains on June 25. According to Vogue, the outfit's second train is approximately one hundred-yards long showcasing the song's lyrics in white lettering.

The artist later partnered with Japanese electronics company Denon for a wireless earbuds commercial with the upcoming song being teased.

Critical reception

After the song's announcement, a snippet was released which met with negative criticism describing the lyrics being made from artificial intelligence or as a commercial jingle. Rolling Stone later reported that Perry "reconnected" with various music producers who worked on her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010). This statement criticized the artist for working with Dr. Luke, who was accused for sexual harassment in defamation lawsuit against American singer Kesha, on a song about female empowerment.
