2024 Pakistani general election, Arrest of Imran Khan
- Pakistani police arrest thousands of supporters of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan ahead of a planned protest to demand for the release of Khan and other members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, along with the resignation of the current government. The capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad, is placed under a security lockdown before the protest takes place. (DW) (RNZ)
LGBTQ rights in Russia
- Russian President Vladimir Putin signs a bill into law banning the adoption of Russian children by citizens of countries where gender transition is legal. The bill also outlaws material that promotes childlessness. (AP)
