NGC 1159 is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Perseus. It was discovered by astronomer Lewis Swift on November 26, 1886. The galaxy has a redshift of 0.008763, indicating it is moving away from Earth at a velocity of 2616 km/s. The galaxy's approximate distance from the Milky Way is 62.9 million light-years (19.3 megaparsecs).
