The Centre for Peace and Reconciliation Studies (CPRS) at Coventry University was dedicated to advancing understanding and promotion of reconciliation and forgiveness through non-violent means globally. It engaged in teaching, research, and activities aimed at empowering individuals and communities to transform violent conflicts peacefully.
CPRS offered innovative educational programs, including an online MA in Peacebuilding tailored for professionals in institutions such as UN agencies, development organizations, and NGOs. This program emphasized critical analytical skills and practical application of peacebuilding theories.
In 2014, CPRS evolved into the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations (CTPSR) at Coventry University. CTPSR continues the mission of its predecessor by focusing on trust-building, peacebuilding, and reconciliation, addressing contemporary societal challenges through interdisciplinary research and practical engagement.
CTPSR's research themes include integrated peacebuilding, trust restoration within communities and organizations, and promoting social cohesion and well-being. The center leverages Coventry's heritage in peace and reconciliation to drive progressive change and strengthen human security and resilience.
