The Match
Armagh gained control early in the game. Although Down briefly drew level with two points from Ciaran McCabe, defensive vulnerabilities quickly emerged. A long pass from Andrew McCann allowed Diarmaid Marsden to break through and assist Oisín McConville for the game’s first goal.
Marsden and McConville were central to Armagh’s scoring efforts, contributing 3-9 of the team’s total. McConville’s performance included a penalty and several accurate finishes.
Down struggled to contain Armagh’s attack and faced difficulties in responding effectively. Tactical changes and efforts to adapt defensively had limited impact, and their forwards were unable to capitalise on key opportunities.
