BMT Rockaway Avenue Line

The BMT Rockaway Avenue Line was an elevated New York City Subway line that ran from Rockaway Avenue in Brooklyn, to Empire Boulevard. The line used the (18) route designation, and was also short lived.

The line was first opened in 1946, one year after WWII, and was called the Rockaway Avenue Elevated, its first station, Rockaway Avenue, was an island platform station, with rear end bumpers at the end of the platform, there were provisions to extend the line, but all of those provisions were canceled. The last stop, Empire Boulevard, was also an island platform. The line was evantually closed in 1955.

Current remnants

The current remnants of the Rockaway Avenue Line remain unknown.
