My Talk Page My Contributions

If you need me to see something, put it on User:ST47/Now. It will be sent to me and deleted almost immediately. This includes BLOCKS and MALFUNCTIONING BOTS. Do not abuse it. If you do, you will be blocked for vandalism. You should leave a short message and your name. Don't post it to both /Now and this page, choose one. If you put it on /Now, the bot will move it here for comment.

WikiCast: Pull Stream...

Owing to some concerns raised in #Misplaced Pages, suggest you check on what the (C) situation re the stream would be again, given the recent changes to royalty arrangments.

At the moment I am seriously considering if the stream can exist at all. ShakespeareFan00 16:52, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

New AccReqBot task?

AccReqBot is very helpful at WP:ACC, but there's another task that's being discussed on the talk page that might be appropriate for a bot. We're using the {{ACC}} template to tag the status of a request in machine-readable form; if a request has been tagged with {{ACC}} for 3 days, and its first parameter is neither 's' nor 'similar', could the bot remove the request as rejected? (It wouldn't have to be 3 days exactly, just run on a typical archivebot schedule, removing rather than archiving the requests.) At the moment, rejected requests just build up. Thanks! --ais523 12:27, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh, and any sections tagged {{ACC|c}} should be archived as successful as soon as the bot notices (it's used to manually tag created accounts that the bot misses). --ais523 12:41, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
I'll have a look, shouldn't be too hard. ST47Talk 18:52, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Working on this now. ST47Talk 13:53, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Can you put me in check page

Misplaced Pages:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage#Bots --Khunter 18:58, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Comments on Shadow1's page...

Yes. That relates to the Channel contact which for most purposes is what's needed. However, should an IRC channel need to be dropped, for example to name change, that requires the original 'registration' password NOT the channel contact AFIAK ShakespeareFan00 07:58, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

AccReqBot

Any chance of running another copy of the bot? Extranet 09:13, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

I don't understand - would you like a copy? ST47Talk 11:23, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
No, I see the need for a second copy of the bot to be run, so is it possible to run a redundant copy of it (e.g. AccReqBot2)? Or, is it a one bot only thing? Extranet 11:27, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
We can do that. I'll put in for a BRFA. ST47Talk 11:28, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh ok, thats great. Will it require a m:Toolserver account or is it run manually? Could you give a few more specs on it? I'm off to bed now, will check back in morning. Extranet 11:33, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
We can use my toolserv account for both. ST47Talk 11:36, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
And then perhaps use mine when it's activated? Extranet 12:08, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Sure! ST47Talk 13:53, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
There's some more comments at the BRFA. Could you please look over them? Cheers. Extranet 20:58, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Oops, didn't notice. Just a moment. ST47Talk 21:00, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
It would be impossible to run it from my computer as I have bandwidth issues with my ISP, thats why I rather run it on the m:Toolserver. Tell me more information on what I can do. And, maybe you can give the toolserver request a bit of a bump? Extranet 21:31, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, we can put it on toolserv, we'd just be subject to toolserver downtime. I thought the point of running another copy was to avoid that. ST47Talk 21:35, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, alright. It's just that you said earlier that we could use the toolserver. As you can already see, there is three HBC AIV helperbots running and I really thought there was the need for two AccReqBots because if say you have to update yours, mine would keep running the tasks, and so on. I can, on some circumstances run the bot from my spare Windows 98 computer, but as I said, the bandwidth issues with my current ISP really puts that off. If you don't really think there is a point of running it anymore, I will just have to resist not running a bot on Misplaced Pages. I'm sorry I have put all this on you at one time, but I just enjoy running and maintaining bots, while also contributing myself. Many thanks, Extranet 21:43, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Have you taken a look at using AWB in bot mode to fulfill some requests listed at WP:BOTREQ? Martinp23 21:49, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
I don't think I have enough mainspace edits to be accepeted on the CheckList, but I have applied for AWB. Extranet 22:36, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Your edit to User talk:AGK

Your edit summary ;) thanks for brightening up my day! Good luck with the RfA, by the looks of it you'll soon be joining me cleaning up the Vandals!

Kind regards,
Anthony 00:11, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Your 3rd RfA

Can I possibly insert my co-nomination? You really deserve it as you are kind and loyal to the whole entire Misplaced Pages community. Extranet 02:02, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I declined that well over a month ago :( ST47Talk 02:06, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
We could always start it up again eh? Only if you want to :) Extranet 02:09, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

AccReqBot

Your bot is trying to blank the account request page. I've sent in a block request while you sort out the problem, but please do so. -Amarkov moo! 02:20, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I have blocked the bot accordingly, pending the resolution of the issue. -- tariqabjotu 02:22, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
That's not supposed to happen. I'll look at it. ST47Talk 02:30, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
I broke something while screwing around with the framework. Fixed. ST47Talk 01:05, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
The bot doesn't seem to be removing the created ones at this moment... Extranet 06:04, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

AccReqBot not working?

The bot doesn't seem to be removing the created accounts at the moment... Is there still a problem with it? Also, with the AccReqBot2 BRFA, I have stated that I am very keen on it and don't really see a problem about running another one along side it, because if one goes down (like yours did yesterday), my copy will still run. And with updates, we can update the code at different times so that it is still monitored. And remember, if the toolserver goes down, that's not really out fault. But, I don't really see it being approved, just like all my bots have been declined (except for one!). Extranet 09:50, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

I've added a note saying that I want a clone, both to prevent coding fuckups and these weird crashes that I can't isolate, and I hope it gets approved. Also, I've restarted my copy. ST47Talk 10:49, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
I've reblocked the bot again. It's interacting badly with customized signatures, cutting them off at the first = sign, and messing up the page. (Presumably, you're looking for = to find the end of a section rather than newline-=). --ais523 10:51, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
I thought I fixed that! Please unblock, I've added a lookahead assertion for ==, and I've got to go to school.ST47Talk 10:56, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
And there it is again, another reason for the redundant copy! Have a nice day at school, I'm off to bed now :P Extranet 10:58, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Unblocked now. --ais523 11:25, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
It doesn't look like the bot approval will succeed. I'll just have to find another non-admin job to do around here... AWB looks too hard to work with. AccReqBot looks like its running great now. Extranet 09:18, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

On the subject of AccReqBot, it was agreed on the talk page of WP:ACC that having a welcome message is ,well, welcome. John Reaves (talk) 21:43, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Cool, I'll have a look. ST47Talk 22:24, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup from other stuff..

User:ST47/Wikimania - This can't now happen. Re-factor or delete (keeping a record for yourself)? There are pages to do with Class President that should be removed as uncyclopediac as well. (but keep copies for yourself) ShakespeareFan00 19:56, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

I dbed that page, removed the link, and removed the userbox. That's the only stuff visible from my userpage. I'll zapp everything else next time I clear out my userspace. ST47Talk 20:01, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Your NPWatcher Application

Dear ST47,

Thank you for applying for NPWatcher! You've been approved to use it. Before you run the program, please check the changelog on the application page to see if there is a newer release (or just add the main page (here) to your watchlist). Report any bugs or feature suggestion here. If you need help, feel free to contact me or join NPWatcher.

Admin

I also would like to nominate you for adminship, I think you (and Misplaced Pages) can benefit from the tools. Let me know if it's ok for you ;-) «Snowolf » 12:22, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I am honored that you would offer, but I don't with to stand for adminship at this time, due not only to a recent failed RfA (whenever that was) but also to the fact that my written finals are beginning, then my 'real' finals the 3rd week of June. I'd rather give it a few months, see if I have time to participate in this project in such a role, finish indexing, or at least summarizing, my talk archives, and perhaps try to write an FA. Thanks! ST47Talk 18:01, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

WP:AIV

Thank you for making a report about Lopopl (talk · contribs · block log) on Misplaced Pages:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Misplaced Pages and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. --Nlu (talk) 18:25, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

BRFA

You might want to follow up the BRFA please. Extranet 04:07, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

I think we should withdrawl this request for approval. Instead of running a bot, I will try to learn how AWB works and possibly host some PHP and Perl scripts on the toolserver when I get it. If thats okay with you, I am sorry for taking up your time. Extranet 12:39, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Sure, I'll do it in a few moments. If you need anything with AWB, don't hesitate to ask. ST47Talk 12:46, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Your recent bot approvals request has been withdrawn. Please see the request page for details. ST47Talk 13:37, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
