The treatment of mental illness may include the use of psychotherapy, psychiatric medication, case management, or other practices. The major treatment options for mental disorders are psychiatric medication (notably antidepressants, anxiolytics and antipsychotics) and psychotherapy (notably cognitive behavioral therapy and variants, psychodynamic approaches, and systemic/psychosocial interventions). There are also physical treatments used for some disorders, notably ECT. Lifestyle adjustments and supportive measures may also be used.
