Kevin Federline
Musical artist

Kevin Earl Federline (born March 21 1978), is an American back-up stage dancer, model, actor, and rapper.

Career

Back-up stage dancer

Kevin Federline has been a backup stage dancer for a number of years for Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Christina Milian, Britney Spears and other famous singers.

Rapper

Federline's previous single, "PopoZão," was released on New Year's Day, 2006. He released his debut album, Playing with Fire, on October 31, 2006 to poor reviews, and lackluster sales.

Model

Federline has been signed to model for the Five Star Vintage line by the San Francisco-based Blue Marlin clothing company. The initial series of ads ran in August 2006, and was subsequently extended for Holiday 2006. The line he modeled for the Fall 2006 was the top selling line in Macy's, Kitson in Los Angeles and Lord & Taylor.

Television appearances

Federline co-starred with Spears on the 2005 reality television show, Britney and Kevin: Chaotic, which consisted of home videos shot by the couple. He also appeared in the 2004 movie, You Got Served. Federline subsequently guest-starred as a street hoodlum in an episode of CSI that aired on October 12, 2006 in the USA and Canada. He also guest starred on the NBC show 1 vs 100 along with the cast of Las Vegas, which aired December 1, 2006.

Federline was featured in a Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company commercial during Super Bowl XLI on February 4 2007, as part of its "Life Comes at you Fast" ad series. In the commercial, Federline initially appeared in a music video rapping about living a high flying lifestyle. Then, reality sets in as Federline is shown now working in a fast food restaurant with his manager yelling at him, the punchline of the ad being "Life comes at you fast."

Professional wrestling

Federline appeared on the October 16 2006 and October 23 2006 editions of WWE RAW, in which he got into kayfabe physical altercations with WWE Champion John Cena. The following week, he came to the ring to aid Johnny Nitro in his match against John Cena. After Cena got in Federline's face, Kevin slapped him extremely hard. He appeared again during the November 5 pay-per-view event Cyber Sunday, hitting Cena with King Booker's World Heavyweight Championship belt and helping Booker retain his title. The next night, November 6, he challenged Cena to a match at the New Year's Day edition of RAW, which Cena accepted. He would go on to win this no-disqualification match, thanks to interference from Johnny Nitro and Umaga. Later in the night, after John Cena's main event match, Cena went after Kevin Federline and brought him into the ring and then delivered his FU Finishing move, and another one after the cameras stopped rolling.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Federline was well received backstage. The newsletter stated that he was often coming up to wrestlers and other personnel backstage before and during shows he was involved in, asking for advice on how to improve his storyline, and was very receptive to ideas from the established wrestlers. Such conduct is viewed as a sign of respect on the part of people just starting out in the wrestling business, and many established wrestlers were genuinely impressed with Federline's willingness to do the best he could in the short time he had been with them up until that point, as well as his receptiveness to their ideas. The magazine also stated that those backstage who spoke with him said his overall demeanor was very pleasant, that he was often seen eating with the wrestlers and discussing ideas, making every effort to have the experience be a positive one for both himself and the company, and to not step on any toes or burn any bridges. Sources say he has been so well received, and worked so well with the company and personnel, that the WWE may give him a regular role on the company's show RAW in the near future. Other sources and wrestlers have spoken about Federline's generally good attitude backstage, as well.

Personal life

Federline appears distraught after purportedly receiving a text message from Spears.

Born in Fresno, California, Federline is noted for his marriage to American dance-pop superstar Britney Spears. They married on September 18, 2004. When Federline's relationship with Spears became widely known, the tabloid media gave him the moniker "K-Fed". Although loath to use the nickname publicly, Federline has used it in his music. He displayed his disdain for the media creation of the K-Fed name during an episode of WWE RAW where he said 'Come January 1st K-Fed is dead, Kevin Federline will be whooping Cena's ass.'

Kevin and Shar Jackson's daughter, Kori Madison, was born on July 31 2002, and their son, Kaleb Micheal, was born on July 20 2004. He has also fathered two children with Spears, Sean Preston (born on September 14 2005) and Jayden James (born on September 12 2006).

Federline courted Spears while Shar Jackson was pregnant with his child. This prompted Shar Jackson to comment that, "it wasn't like just breaking up a relationship. It was like breaking up a family."

On November 7 2006, Spears filed for a divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Federline was in Toronto, Canada at the time promoting his new album for the Canadian music station MuchMusic, and it has been widely speculated that he received the news via text message during an interview with MuchMusic. The moment that Kevin received this supposed text message was caught on camera. The Associated Press reported that a day after Spears filed divorce papers, Kevin Federline counter-filed court papers seeking spousal support and sole custody of the couple’s two children.

The couple's 60-page prenuptial agreement, prepared by Hollywood attorney Laura Wasser, apparently entitles Federline to $300,000 per year for half the number of years the couple was married. Under that formula, Federline will be entitled to $300,000 from Spears, since they were married two years. Federline will also receive 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their Malibu home, and will be allowed to keep any gift received from Spears under $10,000 in value.

On December 4 2006 MSNBC reported that Federline is setting up a home for himself and his sons in the Hollywood Hills. The home reportedly includes rooms for his two children from the marriage to Spears, Sean and Jayden. There is no mention in the article of rooms for his other two children. However Star magazine reports it is a 6,300 square-foot, five-bedroom home.

Federline maintains a friendly relationship with Shar Jackson, the mother of his first two children Kori Madison and Kaleb Michael. On January 12, 2007, Shar reported, "He's a great dad and if you said his name right now, Kori would go crazy. That's the love of her life." Asked about their daughter's special bond with her father, Jackson answered: "He was there for her every minute of her life until, you know, we weren't together anymore. He did everything for her so I guess that's why." As for Jackson's relationship with Federline, she says: "It's not really hard (to be good parents) because we were friends even before we were romantic and we were friends through being romantic and there was no reason to change that."

Federline maintains an equally positive relationship with Britney Spears. Spears and Federline have met several times over the summer of 2007, including while Spears was on vacation in Mexico. While some have suggested a reconciliation in their marriage, the two have stated that they are merely good friends now.

Satire

Federline's stage name of K-Fed and status as the ex-partner of Britney Spears was ridiculed by some media commentators, who labeled him "Fed-ex" after the package delivery company FedEx.
