License

CopyrightedThis image is of a magazine cover, and the copyright for it is most likely held by either the publisher of the magazine or the individual contributors who worked on the cover depicted. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of magazine covers
  • to illustrate the publication of the issue of the magazine in question
  • with the publication name either visible on the image itself or written in the image description above,
on the English-language Misplaced Pages, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Misplaced Pages or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Misplaced Pages:Non-free content for more information.
AttentionTo the uploader:
  1. Please add a detailed non-free use rationale for each article the image is used in, which must also declare compliance with the other parts of the non-free content criteria, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
  2. For example non-free use rationales, see Misplaced Pages:Use rationale examples.
  3. This tag should only be used for magazine covers. Do not use it for other purposes.
  4. Consider using Template:Non-free use rationale serial publication to start the rationale
To patrollers and administrators: If this image has an appropriate rationale please append |image has rationale=yes as a parameter to the license template.
Note: If the image depicts a person or persons on the cover, it is not acceptable to use the image in the article of the person or persons depicted on the cover, unless used to directly illustrate a point about the publication of the image. Use of the image merely to depict a person or persons in the image will be removed.Fair usetrue

Fair use in Stranger (magazine)

  1. It illustrates an educational article about the entity that the magazine cover represents.
  2. The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of the article topic.
  3. It is a low resolution image, and thus not suitable for production of counterfeit goods.
  4. The magazine cover is not used in such a way that a reader would be confused into believing that the article is written or authorized by the owner of the magazine cover.
  5. It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value.
This non-free media file should be replaced with a smaller version to comply with Misplaced Pages's non-free content policy and United States copyright law. According to Misplaced Pages's policy for non-free content, the amount of copyrighted work used under fair use should be as little as possible. In particular, non-free media on Misplaced Pages should not be usable as substitutes for the original work. A high-resolution non-free image is questionable fair use and may be deleted per Misplaced Pages's copyright policy.

In most cases, this reduction will occur automatically: simply wait a while and a bot will resize the image file according to the guideline at WP:IMAGERES. When an automatic reduction does not occur or a manual reduction is desired, the size of an image may be reduced in an image editing program or by saving and re-uploading a suitably sized thumbnail.

Once a reduced version of this file has been uploaded: Please replace this template with {{subst:orphaned non-free revisions}} (through source edit) or {{orphaned non-free revisions|date=29 December 2024}} (through VisualEditor or Twinkle).Fair usetrue
