Ranald MacDougall (10 March 1915, Schenectady, New York - 12 December 1973, Los Angeles, California) was a screenwriter who worked on such films as The Naked Jungle (1954), The Unsuspected (1947) and Mildred Pierce (1945).


He began his career ushering at Radio City Music Hall. He then sought out work elsewhere in Rockefeller Center as a staff writer for NBC Radio before becoming a film director who directed, among others, Joan Crawford, in Queen Bee (1955) and Go naked to the world(1961).

He was married to Nanette Fabray from 1957 until his death at the age of 58.

He was President of the Writers Guild of America, West (1971–1973).
