ITV Wales headquarters (formely HTV Wales)
The district also has the headquarters for ITV television and radio in Wales and boasts a 750 foot mast, the Wenvoe Transmitter which towers above the area. The television centre includes full transmission facilities, production offices (including ITV Wales' central newsroom) and two television studios, the larger 'Studio One' measuring 7,500ft. This facility is large enough to accommodate major television productions and has been used to produce programmes nationally on the ITV network. Studio 1 was recently used as a temporary home for the first modern series of Doctor Who, produced by BBC Wales.
HTV broadcast from the studios till 2004 when there parent company Carlton merged with Granada and the companies rebranded to ITV Wales, althought they are still legally known as HTV Cymru/Wales
The studios handled the Transmittion of both HTV and Carlton Westcountry until 2002 when the department moved to London.
ITV Wales is now transmitted fully from London with the word "wales" superimposed to the Live tv feed
