Confirmed Fixes
Reanimated Tombstone Piledriver

Confirmed Features

- 24/7 Mode: Play through multiple detailed storylines in order to achieve the title of a legend. There will be new cut scenes and storylines.

- Multiple create modes including the so-far-confirmed Create-a-Wrestler, Create-a-Moveset, Create-an-Entrance, and Create-a-Belt.

- There will be 8 "Superstar Fighting Styles" which differentiate superstars from each other. These styles offer specific strategies and abilities that other wrestlers won't have. Styles work in different ways, so it's up to you to learn how to use it for each match type. Each superstar has a primary style and a secondary style. You will only have a special move for your primary style. You will be able to apply Fighting Styles to created superstars and the in-game wrestlers. However, there will be limits depending on weight classes. For instance, Kane can't be a high flyer.
Brawler: Will be proficient in striking with special moves related to striking.
Dirty: Proficient in dirty tactics such as hiding behind the referee, shoving the referee into their opponent, and use of the "con-chair-to." If you hide behind the referee, you are invincible.
Hardcore: They will have special abilities with weapons and will be proficient in no-dq matches. Also, they will be able to use the environment in ways others can't.
High Flyer: Will have more aerial moves than other styles. They will be able to launch themselves over the ropes and other areas, unlike other styles. Four confirmed High Flyer attacks include a Corkscrew Plancha to the outside, an Asai Moonsault to the outside, the West Coast Pop Springboard Hurricanrana, and Sabu's Springboard Side Kick.
Powerhouse: If a powerhouse stores a special, they'll be able to use it to kick out of any pin. Also, they will be able to use the ring as a weapon (slamming into corners, powerbomb on steps).
Showman: A cocky and arrogant wrestler, they taunt and get the crowd into it. They will lower their foes momentum (think HBK, Orton, and even Undertaker.)
Submission Artist: Will be proficient in holds and have special abilities related to that.
Technician: Technicians will be proficient in reversals and technique. They will be able to reverse moves others can't.

- The "Struggle Submission System" gives users analog grappling control and the ability to adjust how much pressure their holds have. The "motion blending" system works the same for both offense and for defense. Players will add pressure on the analog stick to add pressure on the move. The system is described as a "cat and mouse game". The person getting the move done to can leave his or her stick alone and offer no resistance to the hold, or work it to one side and try to power out of the lock. The system adds strategy and will go back and forth.

- New superstars, attributes, arenas, moves, reanimated moves, rosters, weapons, weapon abilities, hot spots, controls, crowd activity.

- The DS version will have touch screen control and will be different than "traditional wrestling games".

- An improved interface and load times guide the player through multiple years of WWE programming.
Nintendo DS Info:

- DS will have touch-screen-based moves, is being developed by Amaze, will have more than 80 holds, will have a complete Season Mode with multiple storylines, will feature 20 grapplers from RAW, SmackDown!, and ECW.

- In addition to intuitive motion-based controls, THQ hopes to make the game accessible to the broadest number of users possible with faster, more arcade-like gameplay, and less emphasis on simulation-style elements (for example, there will be no stamina meter). But that's not to say the game won't have a deep feature set. Building upon previous versions of SmackDown vs. Raw, the Wii version will include eight different fighting styles: Technical, Submission Artist, Showman, Powerhouse, High Flyer, Hardcore, Dirty, and Brawler. The fighting styles won't only allow the wrestlers to behave more like their real-life counterparts, but will give them unique special moves available only to their style. Powerhouses, for example, can mightily kick out of any pin if they have a finishing move stored in reserve, and Dirty wrestlers can push the referee at opponents. On Wii, you can actually make a punching motion with the Wii remote to punch, a lifting motion to lift an opponent up by the throat, and then a downward movement to chokeslam him to the mat. A demonstrator even mimicked DX's infamous crotch-chop with the nunchuk and remote to make his character, Triple H, perform the taunt in-game.

- Managers now will accompany their superstars to the ring via entrance.

- Players now have the ability to set up chairs in the turnbuckles, most likely to throw the opponent into.

- Players can set tables and barbed wire 2x4s aflame via full momentum bar.

Rumored Fixes
Reanimated RKO
Reanimated Kane Chokeslam

Rumored Features
- Create-a-Move Mode
- Inferno Match

Cut-Off Dates
Cut-off dates for SVR08 are rumored to be Wrestlemania, a week after Wrestlemania, or Summerslam. According to a few facts, I can prove that a 60% chance says it is a week after Wrestlemania due to the following.

- Umaga made his WWE debut a week after Wrestlemania and was featured in SVR07.
- The champions in SVR08 and 07 were both determined via Wrestlemania, but if the cut-off is at the exact date of Wrestlemania, the champions would be the previous title holders.
- The main attires for each wrestler matches their near Wrestlemania attire. For example, Jeff Hardy had brown-red hair a week after Wrestlemania and he had brown-red hair as his main attire in-game.

Titantrons and Music tend to have later cut-off dates, judging by the Booker T from SVR07.

Other cut-off dates are rumored to be near Judgment day, judging by Khali's debut and showcase in SVR07.

Rumored Changes
According to a few on caws.ws, there has been a few who have played the SVR08 demo at a local EB Games and has been said to have a few features not yet mentioned that have been listed below, however, these are only rumored and have not been confirmed...

- Kane's chokeslam has been reanimated. It changes depending on what weight class is the victim. For example, Rey Mysterio, at his weight class, shakes his legs as he comes down.

- New UCMs: Brainbuster and Superplex

- Great flow to the match. Stamina systems have been replaced so that doing powerful moves makes you tired, when you are tired you can perform low-stamina moves or get the opponent in a chokehold to regain strength. Taunting and staying floored will also help regain some strength, along with simply walking instead of running.

- One-button springboards and rope-bound attacks. Rey Mysterio is said to have a wide variety of moves based on the use of the ropes, including springboards and more.

- Easy controls. Compared to last year's controls where you either needed to take two hours to get used to them or just change your control pad, this year's is said to have a very basic and easy control set up that takes nothing but a few minutes to get used to. So far, information tells us that on next-gen systems, Triangle/Y is the finisher button, and Square/X is the high flying rope-bound attack button.

- Entrance commentary. Apparently, it was also said that the commentary, be it JBL and Michael Cole, JR and Jerry Lawler, or Tazz and Joey Styles, each time a superstar makes his entrance, the men behind the microphones discuss that particular superstar until he steps in the ring.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 is a professional wrestling video game scheduled to be released on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii consoles and the PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS handheld consoles by THQ and developed by YUKE's Future Media Creators.

It will be the latest edition to the long-running WWE SmackDown! video game series based on the professional wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It will be the sequel to 2006's WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007, and will be the first to include ECW. It will also be the first WWE game to be available for all seventh generation game consoles.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 is a 2007 Game Critics Award nominee for Best Fighting Game

Features

Each wrestler will now feature two fighting style categories, one primary and one secondary. Each fighting style will have its advantages and disadvantages in particular match types. Overall, there will be eight styles altogether which are high-flyer, hardcore, submission artist, powerhouse, showman, brawler, dirty and technical. The wrestler's special move however will only be based on the wrestler's primary style.

A new "struggle submission system" has been introduced, incorporating more analog control into the game. The player executing the submission now can decide how much pressure is applied through moving the analog stick in a particular direction. Conversely, the player locked in a submission hold will have to power out using the analog stick.

The season mode and general manager mode from the previous games now have been merged to form the WWE 24/7 mode. Instead of the player fighting their way through the ranks of the WWE to win a world title at WrestleMania, the main quest is for the player to become a WWE legend and ultimately be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by completing a list of objectives. Depending on how established the player's wrestler is, the difficulty and amount of time it takes to become a Legend will vary.

File:Svr08logo2.png
The logo edited to feature ECW.

Also, SVR 2008 will be the first in the series to feature the revived ECW brand, which will be treated equal to the established RAW and SmackDown! brands, phrased by THQ as an "ECW Invasion". Despite the inclusion of the brand, the video game franchise will keep its SmackDown! vs. RAW name, although an early logo has included "ECW Invasion". Also, it was stated by Cory Ledesma that he plans on redoing the animations of the wrestlers.

There will be significant differences in the Nintendo DS version of the game. It will make use of the handheld's touch screen feature to control the wrestlers' in-ring action. The Nintendo DS version will also include wireless multiplayer action, as well as training minigames. However, there will be limitations from the other versions in that this version will feature a roster of only 20 wrestlers and will retain the Season mode rather than the new WWE 24/7 mode.

It has been announced that THQ will provide downloadable wrestlers for the Playstation 3 version, however, this has not been announced for XBOX 360 or Nintendo Wii users.

The Wii version will take advantage of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk by using the motion sensing capabilities to pull off various attacks. For instance, punches and chops will be performed by slashing the Wii Remote in different directions, while performing a move such as a powerbomb will require the player to lift the opponent by pulling the Wii Remote up and then thrusting it down to slam the opponent.
