Greater Albania is the alleged claim of some extremist Albanian political and militaristic groups and it aims at uniting all major groups of Albanians and territories they consider theirs in one state. For most Albanians, the territory represents what they think was part of their territory before World War I, but they do not think that borders would or should change. The alleged claim of a Greater Albania is presented by non-Albanians whenever Albanians want to gain greater minority rights, or in the case of Kosovo independence, in order to diminish the latter claims.
