A dunam (or dönüm, dunum) is a unit of land area enclosing 1000 square metres. Land area in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip has been measured in dunams since the era of the British Mandate of Palestine.
A dunam is equal to:
- exactly 1000 square metre
- exactly 0.1 hectare
- exactly 0.001 square kilometre
- about 0.2471 of an acre
- about 1196 square yards
- about 10,760 square feet
