New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV) is a New York–based Chinese language television station started in February 2002. It has the reputation for being pro-Falun Gong in stance, but according to Reporters Without Borders, "offers a range of programmes, in particular news programmes that provide a sharp contrast with the propaganda on state television CCTV (China Central Television) worldwide.
There has been a running battle between NTDTV and the People's Republic of China, with, allegedly, the Beijing government putting pressure on satellite operators to stop carrying NTDTV broadcasts. In March 2004, New Skies Satellites (NSS) for Asia stopped carrying the channel . In March 2005, Eutelsat announced it would not renew a contract to carry the channel .
