Chief Vann House
I deleted the picture of Chief Vann House because it had been on Misplaced Pages:Copyright problems for well over a week with no objections and was apparently copied from the given source, which was a website of the state government of Georgia. I am acting in accordance with Misplaced Pages policy on copyrights, as I understand them. If you have a picture of the site that you have taken yourself, please upload it and state its origins clearly, and all should be well. --rbrwr 23:13, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
Image copyrights
Hello Chris,
If you have pictures that you have taken yourself that would be useful for illustrating Misplaced Pages articles, then that is good, and you should feel free to upload them. When you upload them, you should say in the summary that you have taken the pictures yourself. This will make it less likely that anyone will put a copyright violation notice on them. You should also put the image description pages on your watchlist so that if any other user does put a copyright violation notice on them, you will know about it and will be able to explain that they are not copyright violations. If you do this, your pictures will almost certainly not be deleted.
However, if a picture that you upload appears on another website (such as the Georgia State Parks website), other users will assume that you just copied it from that website without permission. In this case you must make it clear who owns the copyright to the picture: if you took the picture and they are using it with your permission, say that; if someone else took the picture and you have permission to use it in Misplaced Pages, explain how you got permission; if it is a public domain picture (for example, if it is an old picture to which the copyright has expired) say that.
You might like to read Misplaced Pages's Copyright FAQ and Copyrights pages for more information about copyright on Misplaced Pages. I hope this helps.

Hi. In response the message on your talkpage, I'm sorry, but I don't see how the other wikipedians here are discriminating against you because you are deaf. It seems that the content you contributed to the Adairsville, Georgia article may have violated our copyright policy . Please refrain from making legal threats, as if you do so, it inhibits our ability to help you further. Also, people are willing to help you, but making edits like these are going to make you lose your credibility, and if you continue to make edits such as these, it will most likely result in your blocking. If you have any questions or need further help, feel free to respond on my talk page. -- BMIComp (talk, HOWS MY DRIVING) 20:23, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Please stop making totally baseless threats to sue people for editing articles in ways you don't like. Please also do not call other users gay (even if they are) or dolts, or allege that they support Adolf Hitler. Conduct like this violates Misplaced Pages's civility policy and also Misplaced Pages's policy against personal attacks. Your threats to sue are too ridiculous to actually qualify as legal threats, but you might find yourself blocked for it anyway. If you persist in this behavior, you will almost certainly end up blocked. Kelly Martin (talk) 06:47, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Fannin.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Fannin.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. cohesion★talk 22:46, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
This picture was given by my friend who was caretaker before he died few years ago. He was well known as photographer since 1940 which was Alton Holtman. He was nicest and sweetest man. He was my former scoutmaster and role model, I thought this picture was served as a memorial. I have no problem with making new pictures of Georgia School for the Deaf Fannin building with marker stood and city of Cave Spring on a planned trip to pay my respect for my late murdered friend's grave in Cave Spring. I will make more pictures and articles for Vann House, Calhoun, New Echota, Rydal, and etc. When I repost new picture with my permission, it will solve your problem. Cculber007
- Sure, just be sure to check Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and add them when you upload it. I probably won't personally notice when you upload, it's just that when there is no tag it gets flagged as needing attention, and someone else will probably notice :D - cohesion★talk 05:55, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Please note that it is considered bad form to remove content from your talk page. If it is getting too long, you can move the old comments to an archive but you should never blank them, as it may be construed as trying to hide or avoid criticism. Stifle 15:44, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

from Poland
Thank you for your information on New Echota update and your other plans. It is nice to see your computerized "Polish" translation effort, but you can use English in the future, if you wish. I will watch Cherokee-related and other "Native American" articles on Engish/American Misplaced Pages as I am interested in the history, culture and contemporary live of native peoples of Americas and work on related Polish entries (in fact, I am also a co-editor of Polish "Tawacin" quaterly magazine on a range of Natve American issues, and an "Indian fan", but I am not a wannabie).
By the way, your computerized "name translation" as "Christopher Przyciska (blokuje) Zespalająersyn (Polish)" unfortunately makes no sense in Polish. It seems most English names and family names are as hard to translate, as Polish (they are not descriptive, as most Native American names are). There are of course Polish versions of Christopher and James, as well as "the son of" sufix, but you would be called simply by your English names in Poland. You can remove this "mistranslation", or write just for fun that if you are Polish, you could be "Krzysztof Jakub Kulberski" (but it's a speculation only).

I realise you think the image help illustrates the article, thus being needed still. However, I am going to shrink the image resolution. Under the Copyright Act of 1976, 17 U.S.C. § 107, I believe that anything higher resolution needed for illustration is a violation of our rights for fair use. Also, I do not think this called for a disruptive, possibly personal attack, edit summary removing the speedy deletion template. Just a friendly reminder that regardless of age, we are all equal Wikipedians. //Ae:æ 14:49, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:DowntownRome.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:DowntownRome.jpg. Misplaced Pages gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Hey there! I am Terrill White and I don't mind co-authoring with you on the Samuel Worcester article! I am part Cherokee and live in Tahlequah, OK, the capital of the Cherokee Nation. I have a lot of information regarding the Cherokee that I hope to get up soon! Also, just for your information, most Cherokee's that I have come in contact with, (take it from me, I know a lot of Cherokee's - I work for the tribe) despise the word Native American. Fair use rationale for Image:Wickedwanda.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Wickedwanda.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Misplaced Pages articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 18:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Oak Hill Berry Museum (Resolved)
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Oak Hill Berry Museum, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Libertyno1.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Libertyno1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:56, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Category:Deaf Wikipedians
A tag has been placed on Category:Deaf Wikipedians, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Category:Deaf Wikipedians is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on ] saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. - Wow, that's long. Per WP:VANDAL: "If you find that another user has vandalized Misplaced Pages, you should revert the changes and warn the user (see below for specific instructions). Users who vandalize Misplaced Pages repeatedly, despite warnings to stop, should be reported to Misplaced Pages:Administrator intervention against vandalism, and administrators may block them."
- Note that it states that a user, not administrator, may approperiate the warnings. If an administrator agrees with the warning templates, which are required before report to WP:AIV or WP:ANI (and etc.), then you could be blocked. I'm not an administrator, but I can easily report vandals, those involved in an edit war, etc. to the appropriate noticeboard for resolution. Your last sentence pretty much sums up your belief and outlook for WP, which is quite sad and highly undesireable; you should always have good faith no matter what. It means you do not want to solve the problem, you want to start flame war against me instead of others. I think you has something against me as a deaf person.
