From the Editors

Welcome to the November edition of the WikiProject U2 Newsletter. This month's theme is Zooropa, one of U2's most experimental albums. We hope you enjoy reading it!

New Members
The Album
  • Zooropa was released on July 6, 1993.
  • This album, along with Pop, is considered one of U2's most experimental.
  • It was originally slated to be an EP, but expanded into an LP.
  • It was recorded in between legs on the Zoo TV Tour.
  • Zooropa features a rare lead singing performance by The Edge, on the song Numb.
  • The names of three unfinished songs from the recording sessions -"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", "If You Wear That Velvet Dress", and "Wake Up Dead Man"- appear superimposed on the cover; "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" was used in the Batman Forever soundtrack, and "If You Wear That Velvet Dress" and "Wake Up Dead Man" were included on 1997's "Pop".
  • "Numb" was released in an unlikely format as the first "video single"; the "Numb" video is thought of as one of U2's best.
  • "Some Days are Better Than Others" is the only track to have never been played live.
  • The singles from Zooropa are "Numb", "Lemon", and "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)"

==About the "Not Equal" sign on Miami (FL) in the Bowl Games 2007-08==

The reason it's there is that Dolphin Stadium, where the Orange Bowl Game is played, will be the new home field for the University of Miami (Florida) Hurricanes football program starting in 2008. Hope that clears it up. NoseNuggets (talk) 3:21 PM US EST Dec 28 2007.

All My Sons Moving and Storage Company

Hello Keeper76, Thank you very much for your advice. Some sources that you requested that I have come across are press releases abou All My Sons as well as the hit reality show Extreme Makeover. On that site, there is a link back to All My Sons which I think has set the company apart. As the codes have stated, I wanted to make sure that you understand this is not an advertising for the company in any way shape or form. Rather, I want to put up the history of the company and the impact it has made in various metropolitan cities across the United States. If there is any direction in which you can point me in to make my information comply with the standards of Misplaced Pages, I am all ears. I await your response Keeper76 and hope to hear your advice. Thanks again for keeping such a great encyclopedia free to users across the web.

A7

You asked me to mention any questions I had with your first batches of deletions. A7 does not apply to works of creative works, such as Snakes and Ladders (film) its a broad group of things specifically exempted in WP:CSD. On the other hand, you can speedy the author and the actors as A7, just not the film.

and I'd have done Adrian martens as nonsense, based on the last sentence of the 1st para. And G4 can be used only for recreation after XfD, not just multiple justified speedies. After a totally unjustified re-creation, I usually also give a warning.
More important, Anthony turner asserts starring roles --may be unjustifed, but it would be for afd.

The temptation is to go too fast. You'll see some complaints on my talk page. some are justified--they've generally been when I've been in a rush , or tired, or even a little lazy & took a short-cut.

Late gratz from the puppy

Congratulations. Here are what pass for words of wisdom from the puppy:
  1. Remember you will always protect the wrong version.
  2. Remember you must always follow the rules, except for when you ignore them. You will always pick the wrong one to do. (See #5)
  3. Remember to assume good faith and not bite. Remember that when you are applying these principles most diligently, you are probably dealing with a troll.
  4. Use the block ability sparingly. Enjoy the insults you receive when you do block.
  5. Remember when you make these errors, someone will be more than happy to point them out to you in dazzling clarity and descriptive terminology.
  6. and finally, Remember to contact me if you ever need assistance, and I will do what I am able.

Hello Clarence

Nah, I gotcha. I'll make sure it's not linked to any page or any body and I'll throw another CSD up. Just doing some sprucing up. --EndlessDan 20:13, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

No, no, no. I'm not packing out. If I was leaving, that scene a few days ago on my talk page would have looked a lot the end of Scarface. It will take a lot more then that to get rid of ol' Dan. Besides, there's like 9 months till Arb Com elections. And I'm sure these will help get me the democratic vote. --EndlessDan 21:03, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

RFA

Keeper76, Thank you for your support in my RFA which passed 43/0/1. I would like to especially thank Bibliomaniac15 for being my nominator and admin coach. I would also like to thank Rudget for being my co-nominator. I'm sure that I can live up to the community's expectations as an administrator, and not totally mess everything up. Thanks again for your support! Malinaccier (talk) 17:23, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Lame duck argument

The typical DR process hasn't flown out of the window with the addition of term limits; it's still in place. And if it fails, the term limit evaluation will kick in to enforce accountability by the community at large. Your lame duck argument assumes that an administrator will not be subject to DR when its reach is the same. The difference is that DR at the arbcom level is a check by admins - admins judging other admins. The term limits evaluation by the community is the balance, a homage to the Roman assemblies of the people. —Viriditas | Talk 18:26, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

RfA Thanks

Cheers for that, I'm not the sort of guy to go round spamming with pretty pics so heartfelt gratitude for your support is all you're going to get!. Now (rolls up sleeves), there's vandals in them thar hills. Thanks again. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 17:21, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

my first

I will not make personal attacks anymoreVandleBlaster (talk) 00:04, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

There is a link on one of his freinds pages. I was asked to sign up and vote when the time was right. I'm not voting for him though (as you know) —Preceding unsigned comment added by VandleBlaster (talkcontribs) 00:14, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

That would be a personal attack. I promised the other person that I would not get involved with that anymore. Not sure why you would suggest that when it is clear that I choose to make my own decision. I am not going to make any more derogatory comments, but he can get his votes elsewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by VandleBlaster (talkcontribs) 00:24, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
"That makes you one of these (link to a definition for an unethical individual)" As I stated, I was asked to sign up, I did, but I voted my conscience, not what was requested. —Preceding unsigned comment added by VandleBlaster (talkcontribs) 00:33, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Will do, SineBot told me the same thing. I am going to log off now. I have caused enough grief for 1 night.VandleBlaster (talk) 00:41, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
I agree, I made a PA yesterday, I fessed up, and it is on my page for all to see. I can correct the verbage in my vote if you would like. I would still like to vote. Please advise.

and almost forgot(4xtilde): VandleBlaster (talk) 19:47, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

I will attempt to strikeout, that may be past me. When I looked at what this guy that I was supposed to vote for was all about, I found traits that I did not like. Case in point is in an arbitration(?) discussion, where I see lots of efforts to "Win" at his various points and interpretation of the regs(I think they ar 'polocies and guidelines') instead of resolving the problems at hand. I hope that none of this is considered a PA on the individual as I am only attempting to answer your question as to the reasoning behind my vote. I think my 1st edit was consise and to the point. I quickly learned that I need to package my thoughts in a more acceptable manner to this forum.VandleBlaster (talk) 20:05, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Airmen's cave

Lacitpo (talk) 01:19, 29 January 2008 (UTC) I'm rewriting the article, following all the guidelines I can find about writing a new article. I'm citing credible sources, not infringing copyrited material, and structuring as close to the best other cave article I've been able to find. I'm doing this in the talk page at the moment and wondered if maybe I could message when I finish to have it looked over. I'm not trying to spam wikipedia here, just put up an article that I, and I am positive many others would benefit from. I just didnt' realize how hard it was to get an article into wikipedia. Lacitpo (talk) 01:19, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

article rewritten in the talk page, can you give me any critique on it before I attempt to re-submit it? Talk:Airmen's_Cave —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lacitpo (talkcontribs) 01:34, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Removing Cache

Hello Keeper, I hope you are doing well. I was wondering what the best way is to have Misplaced Pages delete the cache, so that a discussion of deleted article (at the user's request) does not show up on a google search? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steno895 (talkcontribs) 18:54, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
