As it happens, many of his edits are worthy, and extremely so; it's just that he comes across as defensive and abrasive. Having said that, I am at a loss as to how to effectively get across to him that he should not offend other editors. Aylesbury Junior Schools

Hi, I see you're doing a fine job of merging all the little schools into their respective locality articles. So that the Aylesbury article doesn't get chockablock with schools information, I have taken the liberty of adding a suggestion as to where the merge should be to on each junior and infant school article that comes under Category:Aylesbury. One or two will require me to create an article for their locality in the first place, but this isn't too bad as there is other information that can be included in with those. -- Roleplayer (talk) 17:38, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your suggestions and for creating the missing articles. ~ Scribble Monkey (talk) 18:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages talk:Articles for deletion/British Airways Flight BA38

I don't think this is eligible for speedy deletion, as the page history should be kept to prove that the comment was added by the user in question, rather than me adding random comments by other users to the project page. I have removed the notice rather than adding a {{hangon}} template, because the latter creates Misplaced Pages talk talk:Articles for deletion/British Airways Flight BA38, and that's just silly. -- Roleplayer (talk) 16:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

BA038

Why delete that section, I was just finding more refs for the RR assist, was stated on BBC NEWS24 not 10 mins ago! This is breaking news and sometimes it takes a little whilee for websites to updateMjroots (talk) 16:40, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

What section? -- Roleplayer (talk) 16:42, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
I see what you mean now. I reverted an edit at the same time as you added the Investigation section, and both edits conflicted together or something, and it looks like I reverted you. I didn't, it was the anon before you. -- Roleplayer (talk) 16:45, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
OK, thanks. I've added the investigation section, but will keep the RR bit until I can get verification. Happy editing! Mjroots (talk) 16:49, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Popular culture

Why would a popular culture section be deleted as trivia? -- Roleplayer (talk) 15:36, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

In the case of the NP article, it was particularly trivial. But as to the more general question, somewhere via WP:Articles for deletion, you should find the discussion that concluded that Milton Keynes in popular culture should be deleted. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 13:02, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Barclay Littlewood

Hi, Re: my last change, I don't understand how the following quote from the article can be construed as anything other than blatant advertising:

"Littlewood’s latest development has been www.videosite.co.uk, a venture that hopes to connect customers with companies in a truly unique way. By allowing companies to develop a video sales pitch with a TV-Style presenter and utilise a unique ‘within video’ link system, videosite.co.uk provides a multilevel and multi-platform experience. Littlewood hopes that videosite.co.uk will allow companies to streamline call centres and sales departments so that staff can deal with more complicated issues by removing the need for them to deal with regular queries."

The "This article or section is written like an advertisement" alert suggests to "Mark blatant advertising for speedy deletion, using db-spam". This is what I did. However, I am not an experienced user of Misplaced Pages, so if I have made a mistake, I apologise and would be grateful if you could explain my error. Thanks.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.78.131.158 (talkcontribs) 13:23, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Just to clarify the {{db}} template should only be used when the entire article needs deleting, not just a section of it. I will see what I can do to alter the spam template, in the meantime I have changed the article so that the only text left is what can be referenced using available sources. -- Roleplayer (talk) 18:39, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Your accusation of libel against me

I am distressed to discover that you believe my comments at Talk:British Airways Flight 38 are libellous against you.

I would be grateful if you could communicate to me the part of the statement that I made that was either false, or that constitutes defamation of your character.

I am upset that you could not contact me directly with your concerns, and angry that you have seen fit to make comments both in the edit summary and on your own user pages that my comments were libellous without alerting me directly.

Please do not edit my comments to make it look like I said something that I didn't.

-- Roleplayer (talk) 17:11, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Then, restore my deleted comments that it would no longer appear that I did not respond to your accusation. Yes, roleplayer, roleplay, is perfect, the most honest advertizing of someone who would write an accusation, then delete the response.
Anyhow, to have the wiktionary:audacity to force me to only respond here, is to further hide & disguise my response.
Absolutely, restore my response, or you coconspirators are continuing, perpetuating, wiktionary:libel &/or wiktionary:slander.
wiktionary:Hitherto, there have been many wiktionary: libelous accusations; about my data sources, chronology mathematics, would be amongst the smallest. However, with the many accusations, I need to stop it somehow.
Earlier you wiktionary:rectal repositories had had me as brain-damage, & excessively European.
Now, too American. Possibly, I'm both; likely, neither. Too European, then too American.
----
You have, as well, hidden my plea to more fully describe the wing condition.
----
How much fraud before something is libel?
Yes, restore my comments, now, today.

It is with such activity in mind that the words of the late John F. Kennedy come back to haunt us. Five years ago he said, “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” Increasingly, by choice or by accident, this is the role our nation has taken, the role of those who make peaceful revolution impossible by refusing to give up the privileges and the pleasures that come from the immense profits of overseas investments. I am convinced that if we are to get on the right side of the world revolution, we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin…we must rapidly begin the shift from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights, are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered.

The lot of you have hypocrisy, as well as a complete psychoblock, of an incapablity of reading, comprehending, wiktionary:dissent.

I personally did not remove your comments from the talk page, your response will be copied to my own talk page alongside all other discussions I get involved in and the following comment...
roleplay, is perfect, the most honest advertizing of someone who would write an accusation, then delete the response.
...constitutes defamation of my character because you're pointing the finger at me for everything that you're upset about, and I haven't done a thing against you other than to suggest that your sources are incorrect. If you hadn't thrown around random accusations at me I might have been tempted to help fight your corner for you. As it is you have just lost all good faith that I give all users on here until proven otherwise, and I don't ever wish to hear from you again. Goodbye. -- Roleplayer (talk) 01:34, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
I cannot comprehend why there is such a huge effort to libel me regarding what would, generally, be such tiny issues:
  • which television network I had seen the crash on;
  • chronology & mathematics;
  • the wing description.
What do you achieve from this? I cannot figure.
Specifically, role did make false accusations; flie has been one of the persons deleting my responses to those accusations.
  • You've said "Forgive me if I have got this wrong,..."
  • What does a dictator need forgiveness for?
  • You're not a dictator?
  • Then, include my comments, where they belong.
  • "...help fight your corner,...." What does that mean?
  • If I had not complained, you would have withdrawn your accusations? How would you know? Are you a god? I am ignostic, agnostic, wiktionary:ignostic, wiktionary: agnostic.
I only added the word libel when you had deleted my comment:

Please note that I have reported you at Misplaced Pages:Wikiquette alerts for the accusations that you have against me. Please see Misplaced Pages:Wikiquette alerts#User:Hopiakuta for my report. I will also alert the other user mentioned above. -- Roleplayer (talk) 03:38, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

User:Hopiakuta

Please note that I have reported User:Hopiakuta at Misplaced Pages:Wikiquette alerts for the accusations that they have against you and I. Please see Misplaced Pages:Wikiquette alerts#User:Hopiakuta for my report. -- Roleplayer (talk) 03:40, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. Interesting interactions I've had so far with hopiakuta... -- Flyguy649 04:06, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  • I've encountered this user before, he is an advocate for a disability project in Los Angeles, if I remember correctly. The community has tried on several occasions to bridge the communication gap, but I can understand User:Hopiakuta's frustration and anger, because he clearly sees things in quite a different way from most other people. I don't think, though, that he is malicious, in fact most of his contributions here are very worthy. The major problem is that we have no idea how he sees (i.e. visually) his edits, but we have ruled out an issue with his sight. Having said, that I also see your point of view, and let's hope an admin he knows and trusts will drop a quiet note for him. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 23:13, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
OK thank you for letting me know, I am quite happy to consider this issue to be in the hands of someone else now. -- Roleplayer (talk) 23:17, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  • I can see there still might be a problem, but I have not had a chance to look at his recent edits. Is he still being offensive? The problem as I see it is that this user's history and communications difficulties are notoriously difficult to understand, and have defeated the best efforts of several users, including some with disabilities, to get him to communicate here as we would normally expect. As it happens, many of his edits are worthy, and extremely so; it's just that he comes across as defensive and abrasive. Having said that, I am at a loss as to how to effectively get across to him that he should not offend other editors. It's not necessarily an admin issue, unless it comes to blocking, because it's difficult to tell whether his offensiveness arises from frustration or pig-headedness. On the other hand, there is the project as a whole to consider. Any ideas here? --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 01:15, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Uneducated, pretentious jerk

This uneducated, pretentious jerk keeps deleting the edits that I have made.

I read stuff in books, I do searches on Wiki, the stuff isn't on Wiki, and I put it on Wiki.

Then he deletes it and accuses me of vandalism. WTF?
