Feel free to leave a message. Don't forget to sign your message with the four squiggles. ~~~~
- If you leave a message for me here, I'll probably reply here, unless it is urgent. It's just easier to keep track of conversations that way.
- If I leave a message on your page, I'll watch the page for a few days, so you can answer there.
- However, if you want to do it any other way, that's fine too.

A question
Are you genuinely Brendan O' Connor? I find it hard to believe anyone else would care about him that much, bar myself but I think it's incredible that you're so staunchly pro-O' Connor. Honestly the man's a cretin, bru. 3s4htr1fh438127 (talk) 20:22, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Answered. Done now. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 20:34, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Brendan O'Connor
Thanks for the lead! Yes, on one hand, this user also persists in repeating an identical act of vandalism on the same article, started off using a dynamic IP, and then switched to multiple sock puppets. However, on the other hand, the IPs responsible for the recent cretin/homosexual vandalism – 83.70.230.170: , 83.70.239.219: , 83.70.234.59: , 83.70.250.121: , 83.70.240.116: , 83.70.235.164: – are all within the 83.70.xx.xx block, which does not match with the other user's 86.42.xx.xx range. There were some earlier edits performed by a Brianofarrell which appear suspicious; however, the matching name is probably coincidental, especially since the other user's puppets' names always played on his "surname" rather than "Brian" (refer to his talk page for a list). Do you have any other evidence connecting the two? If you do, we could submit a request for checkuser (and hopefully get all socks blocked in the process). The course of action I would have recommended at this point would be semi-protecting the page, but this has already been done as we speak. Cheers! CounterFX (talk) 21:41, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Replying at your talk page in a few minutes. But now that I look at the IPs, I am pretty sure that it isn't the same person. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 23:00, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- I had assumed that the IP ranges belonged to different providers on the basis of them being on separate Class A networks, but apparently even that reasoning is now obsolete. Thanks for the background on eircom; I myself am not from Ireland (and where I come from, the fixed line telephony market is still monopolised heh). Re the stylistic similarities: there is the commonality of a band being involved, and I had arrived at the Mark Feehily quotation (through an edit summary of yours), but the Reddyb hoax tended to be much more subtle, evading capture for months; the Brendan O'Connor vandalism is too blatant in my opinion. And Reddyb was back at the Rednex page just two days ago (in the old 86.42.xx.xx range). My recommended short-term course of action is to semi-protect the page (as has been done for Rednex as well). If the vandalism persists over a long period, maybe the user could be community-banned on grounds of extensive sock puppetry – it wouldn't stop him, but it makes things much easier to get the new socks blocked immediately. However, for the time being, I agree that we should wait and see whether the page protection dissuades him. CounterFX (talk) 18:38, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Replying sometime tonight, now that I am actually at a real keyboard..., but general agreement. :O) FlowerpotmaN·(t) 22:07, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Random question
So I just got a message from you in a logged-out state, telling me about making an account, etc. The thing is, as you can see, I already have an account. Is there any way to reference edits I made while logged out to my account? I guess it doesn't really matter, but I thought I'd ask. Marshaul (talk) 03:49, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Replied at Marshaul's talk page. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 22:06, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Correct user name; work to do.
Thanks for letting me know who I actually am! As for the work -
WSFA is now awarding the (somewhat misnamed) WSFA Small Press Award which is gaining a bit of a reputation, which will hopefully continue. There's no link to the latest WSFA Press Book and none for our World Fantasy Convention. Which, in turn, lead me to notice that the WFC entry barely exists. That one is going to take some time. Meanwhile I was looking something up and came across Live Action Role Playing. Having been one of the people who coined the name I figure that I should make some additions. It was something of a shock to see 'LARP' used in a newspaper article.
At the moment, though, I need to backtrack and re-learn editing. I've forgotten pretty much everything.

Thanks!
Thanks for the reversion of that attack. Re your last message about Brendan O'Connor – I figure that keeping the page on watch would be the best option. I've myself kept Rednex under my radar since the Reddyb hoax. Cheers! CounterFX (talk) 22:38, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Admittedly, I hadn't understood what you'd meant in one of your recent posts ("now that I am actually at a real keyboard"), but I didn't think people had the dedication to edit Wiki by mobile. Keep up the good work! :-) CounterFX (talk) 10:19, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Really annoying rampage, this last one was. I guess he got mad that we removed his trophy list of past annoyances. And thanks again for the reversion. Cheers! CounterFX (talk) 12:13, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Good spot on the hoax article. I've salted the title and another admin blocked the culprit. Cheers, Caknuck (talk) 00:26, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Flowerpotman, love your qoute from Talking Heads. Apologies as this was my first time to post. References.. Yves Bonnaire, Chief analyst from FEI who actually did the analysis on Waterford Crystal's samples spoke live on Eamon Dunphys show on Newstalk FM on 11th August 2005, transcript is available where he states that the Zuclopenthixol was administered within minutes of the horse going into the ring before the Olympic Final. The report of the hearing is on the FEI website and clearly states that they have chosen NOT to try Mr O Connor on the use of Zuclopenthixol despite its illegal use. Facts on both Flupenazine and Zuclopenthixol and their use in horses are widely available but one printed source is Charlie Birds autobiography 2006 where he devotes a whole chapter to this scandal and the reasons that people use these substances. I hope this helps and if so could you please reinstate my edited version, Thank you Fluphenazine (talk) 01:48, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Tell you what, I'll come back to this tomorrow evening. Actually it's a combination of verifiabilty and biography of living people issues here. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 03:03, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

As I'm writing them. I got an edit conflict. Give me an hour and I'll have a decent stub, but will need help with formatting references. Look at the talk page I created to go with the article, I explained. :-) DrSculerati (talk) 01:36, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks so much!! I'm going to work away and try to make something sensible. Perhaps you'll take a look before you leave? Regards, DrSculerati (talk) 01:53, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Thankis for that, blocked now. If you see anymore just leave a note thanks. Don't worry about it, we can't do anything about the actions of our countrymen! Woody (talk) 23:23, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Wales vandal
Not only on Madeline McCann, s/he vandalised Murder of James Bulger in a similar fashion as well. As far as I'm concerned, vandals like that should be blocked immediately and not given a second chance, which I'm told s/he is being given after I reported the IP to administration. Thanks for the concern Welshleprechaun (talk) 14:01, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
I need help hope. Is this is the right place to ask?
Dear flowerpotman, I want to use an image of a band in their article. I found the photograph on the Belfast city council website. I called them to get permission to use it. They said it was fine. it is mainly for press releases, so i guess it is for any use. However, i don't understand what license option i have to choose when uploading the image. i really don't want to get blocked for giving false information or something... what option should i choose? the woman i spoke to at Belfast was clearly not a lawyer, and i don't think she could have told me the name of the license. thanks! Timothymurphy (talk) 14:39, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, that's a complicated one. I'll drop an answer on your talk page later. (And this is why I don't go near image copyrights; life is too short :O) FlowerpotmaN·(t) 23:38, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- The licence depends on what permission they actually gave you. I bet they said, "ok, you can use it on Misplaced Pages", but that is most likely not enough because they do not understand what that may mean in terms of what can be done with it later. Have a look at the image copyright tags and this one may be even better to see what might suit or what they might give you. Than go back and ask, can you give me an XXX licence for the image in question? Hope that helps. ww2censor (talk) 00:11, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Pretty much what I was thinking. It really does depend on how Belfast Council came by the image. If it came from another source, it might be a case of approaching them. Just trying to find the picture on the council site now.FlowerpotmaN·(t) 00:50, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, here we go, guessing from what Timothy was working on. The image is on the Belfast Council site here, it's the Winding Stair image at the bottom. Now, at a guess, the council got it as part of the Northern Ireland Music Industry Commission press release back in 2005; it certainly doesn't look like the council would have the right to distrubute the picture, although it might be a promo picture from the band themselves. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 01:15, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- If it is a press release image, most likely it will not be possible for Misplaced Pages to use it, except as a fair-use image, as that is not specific enough. A good place to ask is at Misplaced Pages talk:Non-free content. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 04:19, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Someone (PEHC)
I do not think that my page should be deleted for a few reasons >=|. The first reason is that, you, of all people, should not be telling me to do something better with MY user page, because, look at yours. What does yours talk about? Shiny stuff? Oh great;). Also, many of my teachers and librarians, and probably if you ever ask anyone, that you should not use wikipedia for research. The owner of this site even stated himself that many people add untrue things, so don't rely on it anymore. Many people now barely go on it, so, why not actually use it for something? I think that it would be great if people made pages for themselves, since, as I said before, no one uses this site anyway. I hope that you will take all this into consideration, and rethink if my page is a good idea or not.
Yours, Owner of PEHC
