Dr William M. Connolley is a climate modeller serving as Senior Scientific Officer in the Physical Sciences Division of the British Antarctic Survey.
Connolley holds that there is a consensus in the scientific community about climate change topics such as global warming, and that the various reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) accurately summarize this "IPCC consensus".
He argues that scientists can and should participate in public understanding of science, which he does by posting to sci.environment, writing for RealClimate and a personal blog, and contributing avidly to Misplaced Pages.
