Dr William M. Connolley is a climate modeller serving as Senior Scientific Officer in the Physical Sciences Division of the British Antarctic Survey.
Connolley has published many articles in support of a consensus in the scientific community about climate change topics such as global warming. He believes that the various reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) accurately summarize this "IPCC consensus".
He actively posts to sci.environment, writes for RealClimate and a personal blog, and contributes avidly to Misplaced Pages. According to Dr. Connolley himself, he does this in support of his belief that scientists can and should participate in public understanding of science.
